This guy is one of my favorite newer musicians, and I wish he was talked about more. He was a homeless busker in France for years before he was discovered by an agent passing him on the street. The music he makes is like a slightly avant-garde Nina Simone, and I think it's one of the most unique sounds I've heard in years.
