Perfume. For me this is a huge part of a persons appearance. In my opinion if you find that unique scent that “suits” you perfectly it will be something that people will always associate with you.

The fragrances that interact best with my skin are:

Terre D`Hermes and Encre Noire from Lalique – fresh, for everyday use
Wonderwood by Comme de Garcons, Duro and Black Afgano by Nasomatto – heavy, seductive for night activities

I also like Issey Miyakes perfumes and find the new trend set with the Molecule series (each perfume is just one molecule of scent) quite interesting.

So which are your favorites? Which one would you chose if you had to use only one fragrance until the end of your life?

Which ones makes you wanna fuck the shit out of the person that wears it?

Which one(s) do you hate?

This is my favorite like, everyday use one right now:
http://beauty411.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Coach-poppy-flower-bottle-and-box.jpg

I got this one a couple of years back that I'm STILL trying to use up, because I don't really care for it. But thankfully, it is almost gone:

I go through phases where I will get stuck on one scent for a couple of years(the Coach Poppy Flower right now), and then I find something new and stick with that for a couple of years. My mom has been using Calvin Klein Obsession for as long as I can remember. It smells awful.

I've never actually had proper perfume, only fruity scented "body mist" in my high school years. Sweet pea and Cucumber melon anyone??? I have always wondered about how people choose their scent, in stores if I smell more than a couple I get headaches and don't want to spend a bunch of money on something I end up not liking or doesn't go well with me. But my dresser makes my clothes smell weird and I don't want to be smelling like musty dresser anymore.

The only scents that are my go-to scents for the last few years are a few of the Aveda Chakras. Because they're really calming. I mostly love Chakra 3 (http://www.aveda.com/product/5228/17265/Collections/ChakraTM/Chakra-3-Balancing-Body-Mist/index.tmpl).

I've had mine made for me, since I was in college. A little store sold only essential oils, and they would custom-mix them for you. I spent several hours in there one Saturday with the guy swirling droppers together under my nose, until I settled on: China musk, muguet (lily of the valley), frankincense, and jasmine.

If I wear a store-bought one, it's Chloe.

Custom mix, Aveda does that, too, (they USED TO, anyway) I've had some interesting ones done. Chloe, omg, my neighbor wore that for years, it always reminds me of her, fondly.

The only non-essential oil scent I own is Calvin Klein Eternity "Summer."

edit: I just showered and put on some Aveda custom that I had done years ago; it's a little heavier on the sandlewood than I'd prefer, but once that tames down it's really calming. My favorite scents tend to be on the "calming" side. Duh, LOL.

I have a little tiny glass vial of Aveda peppermint oil that I keep in my purse, it's great for stressful times, like when I'm stuck in traffic.

This thread may be titled "perfume", but screw it, I'm putting my cologne in here because fuck the police.

I use Doc Elliott (http://doc-elliott.com/) products, and I love them. I use the tobacco & vanilla cologne and scent stick (it's very similar to Calvin Klein's Dark Obsession; very dark and spicy), as well as their shaving products, and I swear by them up and down. When I used to wear name brand colognes, I'd maybe have someone mention it every once in a very long while. Since I've started wearing Doc Elliott scents, people compliment me on how good I smell almost every other time I leave the house. And they're a hell of a lot less expensive than name brand colognes, too. Not only that, but they last. I've had the same little bottle of scent oil for about a year, and I've barely made a dent in it.

So if you're looking for a new scent for your man (or for yourself; their scents are unisex), look them up.

Sorry, ladies. Please carry on and pay no mind to the guy who needs to enroll in the Derek Zoolander Center For Kids Who Can't Read Good And Who Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Good, Too.

tp, if you like tobacco and vanilla, you should try these scents: Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford, Pure Havane by Mugler, Tabac Aurea by Sonoma Scent Studio and the original Egoiste by Chanel(not Platinum Egoiste), there may be one you like:).

Acqua di Gio for guys
That is my absolute favorite for men but I can't like it anymore because that was my ex husband's cologne. I'm so mad about that but I love a man who smells good.

Yes... The men one has been so overdone. But it still smells so great.

my late stepdad wore Karl Lagerfeld all the time and we kept his cologne and sometimes we spray it into the air so it makes us feel like he's here. It smells SO good.

I alternate between Womanity by Thierry Mugler and Ava from Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab's Only Lovers Left Alive collection. The latter smells sooooo good. I would buy more but the vials are $30/each.

I looked them all up (except the Tabac one, I couldn't find it), and most of them are just too expensive for me. The Doc Elliott fragrances are $18 for a 5 oz bottle (which, again, has lasted me for almost a year) and $22 for a scent stick, which lasts for a really long time, too.
But if I see any of the ones you mentioned next time I'm somewhere like Macy's or Ulta, I'll definitely check them out.

Acqua di Gio for guys and Acqua di Gioia for me. It's my signature scent. :)

I did like the "water"-scents some time ago, but i think i had too much of Bulgari-Aqua and after that i coudnt stand them anymore - getting a headache every time i smell Aqua for more than 3 min.

I admire you guys for being able to mix your own perfume. For now i have only mixed two different molecule-scents - Iso-Super-E and Ambroxan. Th iso is great - it is unisex and smells differently on different peoples skin. It can also be used together with other perfumes wince it makes them more intense, for example Terre D'Hermes.
Ambroxan is a woody-scent, which also changes after a while - it starts like wet paper and slowly evolves into a fresh-woods-smell. Not for und everybody, but i like it.
The_Prowler - you should try Nasomottos Black Afgano as well next time you are at macys! Like my GF says - its a sex-perfume! :)

I prefer to burn my oils, but I would like to mix my oils one of these days.

Here are my favorites that I own:

1. Hello by Harvey Prince. It's a summer scent but I plan to wear it all year long.
2. BLV by Bulgari. I think it's discontinued and the BLV II sucks.
3. Turquatic by MAC. Yes. That shit smells good.
4. Versense by Versace. It kinda smells like an old lady but I like it. I believe it's also discontinued too. :(

I love a man who smells really, really good. Instant blow job to any man who smells yummy.

Most double as scents. Like the one Miss Baphomette says she uses (http://www.attarbazaar.com/Persian-Shafayat-p/shaf.htm). Aveda sells more expensive versions (http://www.aveda.com/products/5350/Pure-FumeTM/Singular-Notes/index.tmpl).

Get the cheap little amber bottles and mess around mixing some of your own scents?

@allegro (http://www.echoingthesound.org/community/member.php?u=76), you should totally check out Attar Bazaar because you get four free samples with any order (even single drams). Cheapest way of trying out their scents.

I thought she has stop making it until I saw it in a place in Austria and bought some more. Then my sister in law made some snide comment that it smelled like the 1990's. ugh.

If I remember, I wear Estee Lauder Pleasures

no, dra, lol...not patchouli...i never could stand it, and i like some unusual smells. sandalwood is my patchouli ;)

my usual combination is two smoky/sweet, two citrusy, 1 woodsy and dragon's blood (which is a combo...but the ingredients in it vary according to different sources..the dragon's blood combo contains a few of my single essential oils)

i would love to find a way to add either honey or chocolate to my mix, but i can't find them as essential oils and didn't reckon smearing either on would work...unless naked, of course, in which case smearing chocolate and honey on skin becomes a good time)(and a multi sensory experience. hurrah)
