What's the longest and farthest distance you have traveled to see Nine Inch Nails?

This question occurred to me after reading Hazekiah's posts about following Marilyn Manson for about an entire tour. I also wondered if this would also belong in the Nine Inch Nails section, but thought of making do with this section for now, as it's about attending NIN concerts.

As for me, I suppose the farthest for me was the second NIN show I've attended at Nikon at the Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, New York. And well, it would be rather interesting to see what would be said from somebody that saw Nine Inch Nails as much as Hazekiah saw Marilyn Manson. I also suppose that the NIN Tour History site would be very useful for this topic.

I took 2 greyhound busses (before wifi) 12 hours one way for a NIN weekend. With my 8 inch mohawk up.
I also bussed from Philly to Buffalo (11 hour bus) then catch a ride with my Buffalo friend up to Toronto (another 2 or so hours), and then drove to Cleveland (about 3 hours) for the next show, then bussed back to Philly to take a train up to Newark (2 hours) right after the Cleveland show. I am bussing up to drive up to Toronto again in July.

As long as NIN plays Toronto and I live in Philly, I'll be making that trip. Because going to a show is awesome, but going with awesome NIN friends is the best.

When the Wave Goodbye club shows were announced, I was hoping for the possibility of a Roseland Ballroom (RIP!) date here in NYC, for at that time my apartment literally looked directly out over the roof of the venue. While that wish went unfulfilled, the 0.7 mile walk over to Terminal 5 was a pretty nice consolation prize.

My first time was in 1991, driving with some friends from Tampa to Orlando (85 miles / 136 km). When 1994 rolled around, it seemed natural to go from Tampa to Jacksonville (200 miles / 322 km), but I wasn't able to go from Jacksonville to Miami (344 miles / 553 km) because of work.

I missed out on the Florida club shows in 1995 due to ticket buying logistics, so when I found out about the NIN/Bowie show in Atlanta - it didn't seem like such an absurd idea to drive from Tampa to catch that show (456 miles / 734 km). That's when I think I caught the bug.

When I moved to Atlanta in 1999, it was easier to travel since I wasn't headquartered in the middle of a peninsula and it was the hub city of a major airline. So, I flew from Atlanta to Amsterdam (4395 miles / 7074 km) to catch six European shows.

When NIN announced tour dates in 2007 and were planning to hit one of my favorite places to visit (plus made it super-simple to purchase tickets) it was a no-brainer to fly from Atlanta to Tokyo (6844 miles / 11015 km) to catch six shows in Japan.

All the shows I saw from 1999 to 2009 (except sonisphere festival) were in London when I worked there so I went to the gig after work, so the distance would be a tube journey or two. With hindsight I wish I had been more adventurous and caught a few shows in mainland Europe. I certainly could have afforded it from 2005 - 2007 as i didn't have kids and had quite a well paid job, but I just didn't have the mindset of travelling for gigs, spoiled by living in London and feeling everyone should come to me

1. I made it to two fragility shows. I lived in Fullerton, CA and saw them in San Diego. The other show was Anaheim which is the next town over in case you were wondering.

Just a few days before that I went solo to Kanata, Ontario, which is about two thirds as far, but kind of in the opposite direction. Both shows were on the same tour: Lights in the Sky Over North America, second leg, with Boris opening. I was just out of school, underemployed, and had a lot of free time. Ah, memories!

Also did Cleveland in 2005, which is about the same driving distance, but that was part of a longer trip with other stuff planned on either side of the show... had a good time, but I was basically using the sightseeing as an excuse to get a lift and see NIN/QotSA/Autolux.

What show in Winnipeg did you see? Was it the 2005 one from the [With_Teeth] tour? I remember there were some guys in the spiral meet & greet/soundcheck that came up from Minneapolis for that show. That was probably one of my highlight NIN moments, was attending that M&G and getting to meet TR. Guess I can't hate on Winnipeg too much then!

Nothing too crazy, 14 hour drive once or twice to Vancouver, made a weekend out of it. The rest of the trips were only a few hours drive to the next province or nearby city. That's fun stuff, and I hope to get the chance to do it more :) Edit: I've seen NIN 9 times so far and only 3 of those times were in my city, it's been a lot of great memories road tripping to other places to see them live, some great winter storms we had to pass through in the mountains as well. Nebraska was brutal and by far my favorite show. Rail on every concert, and Nebraska left my whole chest and stomach a bruised mess. Shortest of course minneapolis and St Paul shows.

My furthest was going from the UK to Las Vegas in 2008 for a NIN 'lights in the sky' show and a mini holiday. I remember it snowed when I was there which was kinda weird.

In my 17 years of show going, I have never wanted to see any band as much as NIN. I saw them 6 months ago and will have seen them 6 times by the end of July 2018. I am from Ohio and I'm going to Europe for vacation and stopping through Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin. Was always planning to do the Berlin show (my cousin lives there) and NIN will be in Paris when I am so it works out. I'm so excited.

The trip is still yet to come... but It's in the planning phase currently. So, come June 20th, the furthest I would have traveled for NIN will be this European vacation.
So far I have tickets for London on June 22nd and Paris for June 25th.

Vancouver to London distance is 7,573 km.
Vancouver to Paris is 7,916 km

These will be shows #19 and 20 for me.
I must be out of my mind!

I’ve kind of been all over the area I live in (Los Angeles). Vegas several times and once in Mountain View, ca.
The farthest was actually Los Angeles to Paris in 2007. It was kind of a joke with my friends but ended up going and it was a wonderful experience.

Yeah, it's so much quicker and easier to go to Toronto/Hamilton Ontario, or even Ohio and PA, than it is to see a NYC show. And like most people, the rest of the state is largely ignored.

1st time seeing NIN was 2005. Did Durham (UK) to Paris which was 546 miles.
Last year did Durham to NYC for Panorama which was 3337 miles.
Going to Czech Republic for Aerodrome this month, 1051 miles.
Trying to magic up the cash for either Osaka or Bangkok but they're looking unlikely.

Haven't done it yet, but NIN is playing in Atlanta the day after my birthday, and my organization's national conference is being held in a hotel just over a mile away that weekend, so I'll be flying in to Atlanta from San Diego and seeing them at the Fox Theater about 4 hours after I get off the plane. Gonna be a great birthday present.

Has anyone seen a show at the Fox Theater before? It looks like it's got pretty decent views even in the cheap seats.

Whilst i haven't personally travelled far, i did befriend a nice women in the que to the London Scala show in 2014 who's travelled all the way from Australia for the show! I helped her get a nice spot to the side of the stage in-front on a side rail with little crowd push, i like to think she appreciated that after all that travel!

Going from ATL to Vegas for the two nights at the end of the month. This will be the second time I have flown to Vegas for a NIN show at the Hard Rock. Aside from that, flew to Louisville to see them at Louder than Life, which was cancelled so we ended up driving from Louisville to Nashville for the Saturday night show instead.

I'm going from Atlanta to Vegas for two shows at the end of the month. The only place I've seen NIN outside of Atlanta was in Asheville during the Tension tour. Really excited to go to see them in Vegas. Im also still considering finding tickets to two shows in New Orleans, but I'm not sure it's in my budget.

i'm from central illinois and i've driven about 3 or 3 1/2 hours to see NIN in the past (st louis, cedar rapids and chicago) but tomorrow i will be flying out to the vegas shows. this trip is expensive but NIN is so worth it, and these shows, along with the 3 chicago dates, will be the best vacation ever!
