I saw HTDA in Denver, Montclair and New York so I'm ok with that. ;)

Also now that I think about it, I'd have to put a tie-breaker for Just Like You Imagined with The Mark Has Been Made... 1/2 points!

Going for a semi-realistic wishlist:

The Line Begins to Blur
Me, I'm Not
Vessel
The Great Destroyer
Beside You in Time
The Becoming
Eraser
Mr. Self Destruct
Sanctified
The Warning
The Big Come Down
Gave Up
Closer
In This Twilight
Burn
Only
Into the Void
Echoplex
In Two
I'm Afraid of Americans

Looking at this list I'm realizing just how many staples/common songs that so many people are sick of I haven't seen. These aren't my absolute must haves that I would ask for in an ideal world, though some are; I tried to find a balance between stuff they've been playing recently that I've not gotten along with things that aren't out of the realm of possibility (so basically, no Perfect Drug, etc.).

20 songs I've never heard live before? In no particular order:

Now I'm Nothing (please!!!!!)
Dead Souls
Non Entity
Last
Happiness In Slavery
Sin
Eraser
The Downward Spiral
The Fragile
The Day the World Went Away
Just Like You Imagined
Into the Void
Beside You in Time
We're In This Together
Where Is Everybody?
Lights in the Sky
I Would For You
In Two
The Great Below
The Great Destroyer

Other than TPD and AATCHB, of course, that would have to be it. Pretty Fragile heavy considering it's my favorite. I crossed Burn and IAOA off my list during Tension. Edit: I could have sworn I saw Great Destroyer during Lights in the Sky in Atlanta, but i guess I've watched Another Version of the Truth too many times.

the songs I haven't seen live yet but would really want to witness some day (bold being the ones I really really want to see):

somewhat damaged
terrible lie (wtf, really?!)
the collector
getting smaller
satellite
please
deep
la mer
metal
you know what you are?
the line begins to blur
right where it belongs
the way out is through
ruiner
in two
I would for you
the mark has been made
I'm afraid of Americans
suck
down in it
even deeper
in this twilight
while I'm still here / black noise

and while it will never happen, but I'd die to see it being performed again: happiness in slavery

other than that I'm really happy to have seen the wretched every time since it's ultimately one of my favorite NIN songs. Other not so frequently played highlights so far: beside you in time, sin, last, heresy, into the void, the day the world went away, the becoming, mr self destruct

One or two of these don't seem like too much to ask:

Dead Souls
Vessel
Satellite
The Beginning of the End
Eraser
Me, I'm Not

The odds on the last three seem pretty good if Europe was any indication.

Maybe stretching it:

With Teeth
Love is Not Enough
Just Like You Imagined
Where is Everybody?
Suck
Right Where it Belongs

Edit: Oh, right — I haven't seen Sanctified in person yet either.

Dead Souls

The two big ones being The Day the World Went Away and Reptile. I saw them in Greensboro on the Lights in The Sky Tour and Reptile was on the setlist but they didn't play it. Realistically I am thinking I may get The Becoming or Last on the summer tour.

I've heard most songs so time to put a slightly different spin on things for this thread. :D

Hope SG plays for less than an hour, and all their "hits"- along with maybe borrowing a portion of NIN's lighting (no spoiler stuff if it ends up being very high production of course). I do actually like them as a casual fan, and never seen them live. Am actually looking forward to what they sound like, and don't even recall last time I'd make sure to get into the venue for a NIN opener.

yeah I know, it's basically the most tragic thing about my NIN fandom... and I somehow doubt I'll see it at all! :(

But this is the exact thing I'm talking about from time to time... even with all the complaining about greatest hits setlist there are still die hard fans who haven't seen it all yet. I got to hear some great deep cuts already but for fuck sake I have never seen terrible lie. :D

Anyone know why "Where is everybody?" not played? I'd think with the last 10 years going way more electronic in certain sets, this is one that would creep up. I've heard reasons of vocal burn for some songs, but this doesn't seem that stressful to sing. Is this one of those tracks Trent just doesn't like?

I think this is my favorite video that lives on Youtube. It looks like this would have been one of the best shows to have seen/been at. I have a few friends that were there and I am still jealous. ;)

I will be over the moon if they play this in Vegas or by the time they come back around to California.

pwing47
06-19-2014, 10:04 PM
The reason I'm excited for Vegas is because they're going to play The Four Of Us Are Dying (as a segue into Demon Seed), Last, ATLIW (don't worry, Trent will summon Charlotte and Lisa to appear on stage for one song to help out), and then during the encore Trent will start to yell "IIIII'veeeee beecommeeeeeeee ... impossible" while the band has blank stares. Trent will turn around and say, "c'mon, we practiced this one, right?"

06-20-2014, 08:32 AM
I have been pretty lucky in that I have gotten to see a really good mix of songs over the years...things I would like:

Opening the show with either Now I'm Nothing in to Terrible Lie

Or opening the show with The Frail into The Wretched...that song just kills it live I don't think I have ever seen them use it as an opener (on any bootlegs etc.)

Would love Where is Everybody

Somewhat Damaged with an intro closer to the album

The Line Begins to Blur

I think it would be really funny if Trent did the quiet interlude from Perfect Drug as an outro to Closer or some other song...the internet would explode.

Nothing off The Slip

No The Beginning of the End (for some reason I just hate that song.)

No You Don't

The Mark Has Been Made

Every Day is Exactly the Same

A whole bunch more Fragile and TDS stuff.

My wish list of songs that probably won't be performed; or if they are, will be performed at every other show except the one I'm going to:

Love Is Not Enough
Now I'm Nothing
Into The Void
Get Down, Make Love
Echoplex
I'm Afraid Of Americans
Down In It
Last
Me, I'm Not
The Great Destroyer with the Happiness in Slavery breakdown
We're In This Together
The Becoming
Starfuckers Inc.
Deep
Dead Souls
Non Entity
Beside You In Time
Only
Copy Of A (As performed on the Tension North American tour, not all electronically)

And now for the REALLY pointless wish list:
Zoo Station
The Perfect Drug

Well, here's an alternate list considering what everyone else has been posting and realizing it doesn't have to be totally realistic:

Somewhat Damaged
The Day the World Went Away
The Frail/The Wretched
We're In This Together
The Fragile
Just Like You Imagined
Even Deeper
Pilgrimage
No You Don't
La Mer
The Great Below
The Way Out Is Through
Into the Void
Where Is Everybody?
The Mark Has Been Made
Please
Starfuckers, Inc.
Complication
I'm Looking Forward To Joining You, Finally
The Big Come Down
Underneath It All
Ripe (With Decay)

And then, if they decide to do an encore:

The New Flesh
Metal
10 Miles High
The Persistence of Loss
And All That Could Have Been

botley
06-20-2014, 09:05 PM
I don't much care about what they play, because I've never seen this exact lineup play before, so all the songs will sound new!

…shit, forgot I was on ETS. Here's my trainspotter's-wet-dream list:

8 Ghosts I
Demon Seed
Everything
Last
Me, I'm Not
Sanctified/Sunspots thingy

Those last two are quite probable and the others are quite possible. Never-in-a-million-years, holy-shit-my-pantsville territory would be "Getting Smaller" and "Please". Anyway, that's about it! Manage your expectations, people.

TheRealNs1

Okay so since all the cool kids are doing it, here's my wish list:

Disclaimer:I haven't seen as many shows as y'all have so Closer is on my list...

Opening - Pinion

Pretty Hate Machine - Sin, Down In It

TDS - Heresy, Ruiner, Closer and The Becoming

Broken - Last, Suck and Physical

Fragile - Just Like You Imagined and TDTWWA (these would be awesome at the Bowl especially if he gets Mike G to play piano again)

With Teeth- Sunspots and Right Where It Belongs

Year Zero - The Good Soldier and God Given

Ghosts - Ghosts 19

The Slip - Discipline and Head Down

Hesitation Marks - All Time Low and Various Methods Of Escape

Misc - Now I'm Nothing, Non-Entity, Dead Souls and any of the Gary Numan covers

Wild Card - HTDA - Is Your Love Strong Enough, Immigrants Song

Your Name Here
07-07-2014, 08:33 PM
House lights go down, as we sit in darkness the faint familiar sound of Pinion introduces what is to become. In a blinding light and thunderous sound.

1) Last
2) Heresy
3) Sunspots
4) Copy Of A
5) Perfect Drug
6) Non-Entity
7) Home
8) Various Methods Of Escape
9) Reptile
10) Ruiner
11) Somewhat Damaged
12) Everyday Is Exactly The Same
13) Into The Void
14) Vessel
15) Lights In The Sky
16) In This Twilight
17) Hurt

Encore
18) Closer
19) Terrible Lie
20) Head Like A Hole

I know it won't happen but that's what I'd like to see, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it whatever they do.

Because there will probably only be the two bands, it would be cool if they did the slow change thing NIN/Bowie did in the 90s. That would be my wish. I think it would let both bands have longer setlists and play rare songs they can cover of each others.

This was kinda hard but I haven't done one of these in a while so here goes.. Here's an unrealistic attempt using songs that I've never seen including songs that have never been played:

The New Flesh/Pinion
1. Hyperpower!
2. Deep
3. Everything
4. Please
5. We're In This Together
6. Hand Covers Bruise
7. Beside You In Time
8. With Teeth
9. Getting Smaller
10. Complication
11. No, You Don't
12. Every Day Is Exactly The Same
13. The Perfect Drug
14. Something I Can Never Have
15. Now I'm Nothing
16. Happiness In Slavery
17. My Violent Heart
18. Sunspots
19. The Great Below
20. Demon Seed
21. Zero-Sum

Here's a different one, using only songs that have been performed live before that I've never seen as well as using songs that I've only seen once before marked with a *. I include Sunspots on the basis that it was at least rehearsed and the rehearsal audio is available. Wouldn't we all love to hear some TPD rehearsal audio.. Anyway here goes

The Downward Spiral/The New Flesh
1. You Know What You Are?*
2. Sin*
3. Last*
4. Meet Your Master*
5. We're In This Together
6. The Collector*
7. Just Like You Imagined
8. All The Love In The World*
9. With Teeth
10. Sunspots
11. I Would For You*
12. Love Is Not Enough*
13. The Mark Has Been Made
14. Vessel*
15. Capital G
16. No, You Don't
17. Please
18. Starfuckers, Inc.*
19. What If We Could?
20. Right Where It Belongs

An occasional WT-heavy set would be nice to see. Call me a dreamer.

Maybe it's that I've never seen it yet or that I'm on such a kick of it lately, but I'd adore some Dead Souls on this tour. I know that there's so much for them to play that they haven't gotten to yet, and it's only been a year since they came back, but really, it's about time for that one.

I'm chiming in again in case it makes a difference...top of my list is LAST.

PS. I'll be in Vegas, Chula Vista, Irvine and Hollywood Bowl (you never know who is listening)

After yesterday's developments...my wish is Mr. Self Destruct or Wish with Mr. Greg Puciato and Mr. Ben Weinman. That's all I care for :) The Houston show I'm attending is the last one with DEP so hopefully they do something special for that night.

I wouldn't mind hearing some kind of reworked version of Every Day is Exactly the Same. I think that the album version sounds a bit flat when translated to a live setting (like Various Methods of Escape), so some reworking would make the song really good in concert.

How about replacing Mr. Self Destruct with HiS.
Can you imagine HiS with some members of DEP. I know I can ...

Now that Vegas is just a few days away, I put together my own setlist that's somewhat grounded in reality. A couple semi-rarities thrown in, but still within the realm of possibility, esp. since we know Trent likes to throw a curveball every now and then. Roughly about the appropriate length, based on the NIN/QotSA tour.

* = Unlikely to be played, but possible
** = Moderate chance of being played
*** = Likely to be played
**** = Guaranteed to be played

My "could maybe happen" set:
Now I'm Nothing (*)
Terrible Lie (***)
March of the Pigs (***)
Piggy (***)
Deep (*)
SICNH (**)
Down In It (**)
Meet Your Master (*)
Copy of A (***)
What If We Could? (**)
The Good Solider (**)
The Big Come Down (**)
In Two (*)
Discipline (*)
Came Back Haunted (***)
THTF (****)
HLAH (****)
--------------
TDTWWA (**)
Hurt (****)

As far as realistic stuff goes:
The Big Comedown
In This Twilight
Eraser
Find My Way
While I'm Still Here
All Time Low

Less realistic, but maybe still possible:
Something I Can Never Have
Mr. Self Destruct
With Teeth
Love Is Not Enough
The Line Begins to Blur
RUINER GODDAMN IT
Discipline
Lights in the Sky

Trying to keep my expectations realistic. I'd be really happy with just a couple of those, really.

Happiness in Slavery

*****
some songs that I would love to see! and some of these I've never seen, others are just rare(of course):
Deep,
Burn,
The Big Come Down,
Mr. Self Destruct,
Somewhat Damaged,
In Two,
Everything(I'm holding my breath),
Into The Void,
Last,
Sunspots,
At The Heart Of It All( we can dream, even though it's Aphex Twin),
Closer To God,
Discipline,
Capital G,
Heresy,
In This Twilight,
Right Where It Belongs,
I Do Not Want This ..............
this is just some of the stuff. though, I assume that if dreams came true, my personal set list would be about 4 hours worth of NIN.

***also, Terrible Lie. Love this song, I don't care how many times they've played it live. Absolutely love it.
