If I'm able to find a ride from the city (I'd help with gas money), I'll be searching for a ticket!

Is it possible to take the 11th Street ferry across to NJ and then a bicycle or taxi from there to the venue or is that form of transportation still cost prohibitive?

I ask because we were trying to figure out how to get there also without a car.

I'm not quite sure... I'm still pretty new to the area. I just briefly glanced at Google Maps, and saw that it said you would need a car for the last leg of the trip. I'm not sure how far that is. I'll look at it closer later tonight. Plus, I remember it saying that it would take 4+ hours on transit. I can't imagine that is actually correct, though.

mooney138

Thanks. I know that the ferry takes about 40 to 55 minutes to cross from 11th to NJ, depending on harbor traffic.

Supposedly, you can take the NJ transit to Matawan and then there's a shuttle bus to/from the venue. I haven't done it but I think someone else on here said they have.

EDIT: here -

Both Jones beach and PNC are easily accessible from Manhattan. Jones Beach - take the LIRR to Freeport and there is a bus (you can use your metro card) to travel to the venue. The back-up at the end of the show is never that bad.

PNC - Take the NJ Transit to Aberdeen/Matawan and they provide buses.

Sarah K

Can you use MetroCard for this stuff? I've never used it outside of the city.

I'm fine with getting around the city. But for some reason, I feel nervous trying to get to places away from the city.

No, New Jersey Transit is its own thing. You would go to NJ Transit part of Penn Station (it's sort of like in between the Amtrak level and the LIRR level sort of? Around 32nd St and 7th Ave.) and buy a ticket there. It'll be like $15 round trip.

Personally, I would try to arrange a carpool if I were you. It sounds stressful to me to try to make sure you catch the shuttle bus, especially if taking the NJ transit for the first time is already stressful. Alternatively, a few people can meet up in NYC and take the trip out together. I'll probably be living in Philadelphia (and I don't drive either) so I can't really help unless I decide to spend the weekend in NYC.

Sarah K
03-22-2014, 10:42 AM
Yeah... that's for sure what I'm hoping for. It sounds like the one at Wantagh is easy to get to by transit. But this one seems really complicated. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a car pool!

There is a 2 tix evil bay auction or best offer for section 101 Row M for $340 plus shipping.

Our Live Nation tix in the 101 section were $121 each with shipping and fees.

Be aware that EB charges ~18% for selling tickets plus the 3-4% PP fee to sellers for accepting money.
Thus, the seller is not making much on them. Therefore, I recommend not going too much lower on a best offer if you are serious about getting them.

There are six sets of two tickets of Official Platinum Seats listed for this show in Section 102, Row H and K on the Live Nation website.

Taking NJ Transit isn't all that bad. The thing that does suck is the timing of getting your train ride home because you dont want to be stuck. There was always that sense of urgency when I was at a concert at MSG, knowing that the last train out back into Jersey was at 1:01, or possibly making that 11:59 train. In most of your situations, getting back to NY is the issue. I took a quick look at train schedules (NJ Transit only has them up to late June now, but on the weekend, the last two trains to get back to Penn Station are at 11:59 and 12:49 (http://www.njtransit.com/rg/rg_servlet.srv?hdnPageAction=TrainStationLookupFro m&selStation=37169) Round trip will be ~$26.

I've lived in NJ all my life and never knew there was a train and bus that you could take to and from NY. Getting out of PNC isnt a problem, since everyone is hopping back on the GSP and doing 80mph. Not sure how the bus would be getting back to the train station. If you can, drive in. Tailgate in the parking lot for a couple hours. Bring Solo cups - no open containers and the lot is patrolled by NJ State Troopers. If you drive, bring around $10 for tolls if you're coming from NY (not including bridge tolls - GWB is what, $16 now?).

Any other questions, let me know. I've been to PN probably around 15-20 times.

Holmdel bans tailgating ahead of PNC Bank Arts Center's summer concerts

Alright. I just bought a ticket. Sec. 103, Row C, Seat 125.

I bought these stupid "Party Bus" tickets for this and the Wantagh show. I'm a dumbass. But I'd rather pay the extra money than deal with the hassle of getting lost/stranded/whatever.

I'm thinking about hitting this date instead of Toronto. I will be on vacation and it's on a Saturday. Close to a 7hrs drive, which is a bit tedious alone but that I can deal with that.
There are some good tickets left and less costly than anything I found for Toronto.

FYI, as of right now there's an 80% chance of rain in Holmdel on Saturday, they were calling for thunderstorms but now it's just rain. Obviously this could completely change by then but just putting it out there so people can be prepared. Gonna suck for the drive there/back and tailgating if it does end up raining.

*** FLASH TICKET SALE***

Due to a cancellation I now have 2x NIN.com presale tickets available for this date.
Tickets are located in Section 303, Row V, seats 105/107.
Seats are undercover, so considering it is meant to be raining, they're ideal.
The cost of these tickets was $141 with taxes and fees but I am willing to sell for $100!!!
I already have 2 seats on the Soundgarden presale so these are now spare.
I can meet the buyer at the venue and accept payment on the day, cash only.
Early access to the venue starts at 4:30PM so the buyer would need to be there by that time.

If you are interested then PM me to discuss and make arrangements.
Serious buyers only please. First come first served.
Thanks. :)

I hate to look at weather reports, but it looks like the rain will stop by 6. Nonetheless, I'm picking up one of those 10x10 pop up tents tomorrow so my tailgate will be dry. Planning on getting there around 1-2 Saturday.

If you are tailgating, there is a pretty strict open container rule. Bring cups. Also, not sure of DUI checkpoints, but recent shows there have had them as you leave the venue. Not to sound like your dad, but don't be stupid and drink and drive.

Anyone else needed to be added or deleted from the ticket list?

Add:

Have 2 nin.com presale tickets in section 201, Row E (Inside! No rain!)

Face + fees was $182.90 for the pair.

I'll be at the show. We would have to meet at the venue and enter together as I need to show ID to pick up the tickets from will call.
Private message me if interested.

Thanks in advance.

This bus thing was fucked up. We didn't get here until SG had been on for a while. Which is okay with me, but we got fucked on merch tonight.

Is anyone going to this show from the city tomorrow who would let me ride along? I'll for sure throw in cash for gas. This was just a bad experience and I want to be able to get in for merch earlier tomorrow.
