Whilst on the topic of video footage from the Aus tours, does anyone know what's happening with the cameras that were at the Sydney shows? I noticed rob and some other guys filming NIN and the crowd. (Didn't get to the front for the Newy gig, so didn't notice if they were doing it there).

I have asked him in the messages I sent him so hopefully he reads and replies, I'm pretty sure the lady that was also filming on Friday (mostly the crowd) is nins manager or PR but not sure who the other guy was. Aus may get a professional release ;-)

I spoke to Rob before the 2nd Sydney show about the recordings, as they had crowd mics to record the crowd for audio. He said they weren't doing the full show in video, but were getting audio and different songs from the stage via video from him and the other girl. She also shot some queens footage as well as a lot of crowd stuff. I also saw her filming Robins wife and daughter at the side of the stage. Rob didn't really elaborate on what the footage was for.

BTW, just my opinion, but there are tapers out there that would do a really good job editing like those "professional services." Not really worth your hard earned cash to be working on audience recordings like that. Just my 2 cents. If you want, I could send them over to a good friend of mine who has done wonders on a lot of my recordings.

Awesome :D sorry to seem like a pushy bastard, I'm just real excited to sit down and listen/watch the whole show seeing the quality of footage that people managed to record.

I just had a listen to the 2 videos I recorded during the 2nd Sydney show. At first I was listening to the videos with VLC and had the volume in the player at 200%> and it sounded like the band was playing into a cardboard tube, but now that I've reduced the volume to 100%, it actually sounds half decent (to me anyway). They were recorded on a Samsung Galaxy S3. I do have audio/video of Piggy except my phone decided it would be wonderful to try and focus throughout the whole song so it's predominantly blurry (plus me zooming in every now and then didn't help) but the audio is acceptable. Copy Of A is about the same, only thing is I didn't try any fancy zooming with the video for it, I just recorded the whole thing. Let me know if you want me to upload them/want a sample/whatever and I'll do my best to get it to you guys (if you need it).

Great news you got footage of reptile! I have no preferred method to receive the footage as it will all get to me in the end. Whatever works easiest for you, drop it off, mail it or upload it (not youtube). That would be fantastic!

I live in the Gong, so not too far from you but I won't be driving past the Shire until next weekend, so I will upload them to dropbox and send it through to you in the next day or two to save time ^.^ I've made a note with what's been recorded for each show and the quality of it... Managed to get Trent falling over Ilans drum kit which was pretty lol.

There was a guy at the second Melbourne show who was sitting at the side of the stage in front of me filming and it looked like he got really good footage. After NIN played I asked him if he was on ETS and knew about this, he said that he did but doesn't post much - has he got in touch with you?

This news excites me. I've been checking the first post with the progress tracker twice a day waiting for it to move every time I check it.

The first mix of the first Sydney has been reviewed and minor adjustments to be made.

Once the first mix is done, the rest won't take as long as it we are just going back and forth with minor adjustments and feedback to get it to sound how it needs to. Once the standard is set then the rest will (to put it simple) have a template to follow.

Youtube ripping almost complete, I am quite busy with work during the weeks so weekend time will be most effective for me (at least until my work course is over in 3 weeks).

Apologies people, the mix won't be released today as we are powering through the audio editing and going to be mastering everything at the end. On the bright side we only have the Melbourne shows left so not much to go and then I can start finalising the set list and release that aswell.

YouTube videos are done for nine inch nails. Just need to rip some Queens once I pick a few songs for the set list aswell, aiming for about 10 songs for Queens, then will follow Brody Dalle.

UPDATE:

I am currently downloading the shows now that they are completed and have been (for the most part) saved. What you have to understand being the first time I have recorded live shows some of the songs turned out completely useless, some not too bad and some turned out quite good. I was naive in thinking how much could actually be saved as I am not really and audio tech guy, this is my reason for not releasing some things which I will mention in a moment. So because of this I will pick the best quality songs as possible for the DVD however this is pending what videos are available so there will be a bit of compromise to create the DVD setlist. Once these have been downloaded I will then cut up the audio into songs per night and will be uploaded to RITC and I will let you know when it's done.

Now probably the more important details of this announcement is this, below a list of what night's will be and won't be included in the DVD:
6 March Sydney - QCUA (SEC)
7 March Sydney - QCUA (SEC) however please note the only songs to be included and release will be "HTDA - BBB" for quality reasons, possibly hurt or another quiet song. However the entire setlist won't be release as the majority is completely unusable due to trying to record on the rail
8 March Newcastle - NEC Due to complete lack of footage this show cannot be included, literally not even enough footage to cover one song which is a real shame, audio is mediocre but I will release.
14 March Melbourne - RLA
15 March Melbourne - RLA

I hope this does not upset you too much however on the positive side of things at least this is just another step forward in the project. The big idea of this project will by no means try and take lead as one of the best nin-fan made dvd's as there are plenty of excellent ones out there which much more knowledge base then this one. This project is merely for nostalgia and trying the document something strictly for the aussie fans to relive as it is much more personal re-watching nin over and over when you know your somewhere in the crowd. Please do not be upset if this doesn't fit your ideals, in terms of quality, of how you thought it might turn out. Enjoy it for what it is going to be but knowing the aussie nin community you guys will love and appreciate it!

Uploading to RITC has started, it will take a few hours as my upload speeds are crap, however get excited for the crappy, mediocre and excellent sounding songs. Be prepared to turn your speakers up as the files are quiter than a normal recording due to the signal strength being so strong I could only boost it so much before it would start to degrade the quality.

I stuggled trying to figure out the best order while trying to maintain continuity as much as possible with what the band members wear each night by trying to keep songs from the same night in order however I felt it was more important to get the flow of the setlist right, so with both of these things in mind this is what I came up with. If people have any suggestions nothing is set in gold until the closing of the first draft edits (for the most part).

Also > I hope people enjoy the teaser trailer as I will make more along the way, the next one will include more footage from the shows.

The teaser trailer was awesome. Definitely want more but at the same time I don't want to ruin the whole DVD experience by seeing too much before its released if you get what I mean.

Sounds good dude. I haven't stopped watching that teaser video you've posted. It's seriously way too sexy, and I mean that :D

If it's not too much of a hassle I would love the video footage for the song. I know the lights were on and whatnot, and you could hardly hear it/nobody noticed what was going on until about halfway through, but that song has a deeper meaning for me which I won't go into, but yeah, to see the video footage just to relive that moment again (don't get me wrong, I listen to the audio of it every day) would be awesome.

And if it's not too much to ask, Somewhat Damaged as well, or at least that little bit where the lights go out and A Warm Place ends, but like I said, if/when you get the chance/are happy to send it!

theimage13 is correct, I am using video from both nights since the way they performed the song is almost identical and the clothes worn are almost the same which I thought was enough to not notice although you can tell but when watching the song as a whole it looks all perfectly in sync.

So I'll take my time with things make sure nothing is rushed for the best result in the end. On a good point my course involves learning video editing so I'll be able to pick up things I don't know which will benefit the project.

Still plotting along... getting there slowly. meticulously nailing each edit, Can't wait for the end, these videos are surpassing my expectations well and truly but I'll let you be the judge of that :)

This is the part of the project where I would rather not keep updating with the same old "still editing" every week so every now and then I'll pop a message up. At this stage I am happy to approximate that the edits will be finished (final edit) September/October - Job and/or course work permitting. Lately it has been getting in the way but weekends are when I am most efficient.

With 2 songs left to go, I finished the DVD cover, I won't be doing multiple different styles and have a vote. I need to start working with a theme now for the DVD menu so I hope you all like it.
I couldn't find any information on the font that was used in the 2014 Aus tour poster so I just went ahead and created it. I only did letters, no numbers or symbols. Capitals are all the same as lower-case except for the N being backwards.

The lack of punctuation marks didn't bother me majorly or anything, but the one thing that did catch my eye was that the N in Sanctified is still in the normal direction, along with a few others, but some of them are backwards. Is that intentional?

Thanks guys, Yeah it was intentional to have the backwards N's for the start of a word like a capital however if you guys think they should all be backwards it's easy to fix.
When I get the files from work I'll amend and upload the print ready version for the DVD cover and CD artwork. I'll also make the symbols required to amend the punctuation marks and re-upload the updated font for anyone wanting to use.

My internet sucks, but for what it's worth I can TRY (note: it really wont do much at all to be honest) to help out. Wouldn't be worth driving out to drop a copy off, probably cheaper to just wait for it to show up in the post like the rest :D

At this stage I am having trouble with the dvd menu authoring. Next Thursday I will be going away and won't be back until 19th January. I have decided to cut the bonus features for now and will release them via youtube when I return. This is so the seeding can start right away.

I will setup a http download as a backup if seeding isn't underway by the time I leave incase my computer shuts off for any reason while I'm gone. However the concert will be uploaded to youtube by then aswell.

I will keep trying to sort this DVD menu out but may have to take away any moton effects I have done for the menu in place for a basic static menu. Otherwise an MP4 file will be the next best thing (approx 2.5gb)

Will keep posted.

Don't apologize at all man, you've done an amazing amount of work for one person out of nothing but passion and you're being incredibly communicative. I'm sure everyone understands, and you're being a lot better about being open and talking to those interested than a lot of past fan projects, especially compared to that one that took everyone's money and then never released the thing.
