I recorded the whole show, then literally with about 25 seconds left of Hurt to go, one of the security people tapped the camera. Fucking fat dickheads.

If anybody has any audio recording of any sort (preferably the whole show) that they would be willing to share with me I would be forever grateful and may even jizz in my pants. That was an amazing show in my opinion.

Although I wasn't too excited for QOTSA, they were actually really good too. Great night overall.

I recorded the first 30 minutes entirley of video with a pretty good angle. Suck about hurt but good to hear you got practically everything!!!
Just listened to a bit of the Audio (which is 100% complete for both bands) and pre-editing it sounds not too bad... more to follow in the next few days. Will be in the pit for tomorrow nights show, will be recording!!!

Hey man, how did your recording turn out? mine is a little dorwned out with bass and a bit quiet but should be able to fix it up with some editing. I'm going to be closer to the stage which is better for my mics and turn on the roll off filter for tonight's show.

This was good, but it wasn't amazing, and I feel like if I hadn't already seen NIN a bunch of times in various formats I'd be a little disappointed. QOTSA wiped the floor with them from a stage presence perspective (but their sound was horrible - NIN's sound was great). I feel like I should really be going tonight, when NIN are hopefully headlining, to see what the show is like then. It felt like NIN opened for QOTSA as opposed to a co-headlining sort of thing, if you catch my drift.

NIN's light show was incredible as usual, and Queens only had this big screen in the middle that did the looping gif style images which feels about a decade out of date. It's hard not to compare the two, I guess.

I feel like the 4-man setup is a little too sparse and relies on backing tracks too much, and it looked a little bit like they had to quickly come up with something after a band member dropped out or something like that. I don't know, just had a very strange feeling coming away from it all. Spoiled from looking at Tension recordings, I suppose.

Oh, and A Warm Place was only the backing synth chord changes; the Crystal Japan melody line isn't in it at all. Took a while to realize what was playing.

I haven't had a chance to get it off the device yet, is only MP3 but sounded ok through the recorder speaker but probably needs a boost post production. The sound on my camera came out great although I didn't film all songs and the sound on my phone is blown to pieces, don't think it's built for that.

So now that I'm finally recovered from both shows, I can do a quick write up of my experience.

First off, it was my first Nine Inch Nails show (after missing many opportunities previously due to lack of age and money) and it was absolutely perfect conditions for me. Almost right on the rail, just off to the right of Trent, could see everything perfectly and there was no tall prick standing in front of me as is usually the case.

The second I heard 'A Warm Place' start I literally started screaming from excitement. Then I pretty much stood there in awe as everything went dark and everyone came out on stage. Then 'Somewhat Damaged' starts and I lost my shit to it along with everyone else. The set continued and every single song just fit perfectly, every single song they played was exactly what I wanted to hear. Then 'Piggy' started and I almost pissed my pants from how excited I was that I was finally hearing it live :D then one minute Trent is on stage singing, next thing I see is his face inches away from mine, still singing into the mic, so I did the first thing that came to mind...and reached out to pull Trent further into the pit :D. So I did exactly that, I pulled an arm free, reached out and grabbed onto his bicep and holy shit the man has solid arms. If there's anything that's given me motivation to get back into gym work again it's that moment right there. All of a sudden Trent tosses the mic and it ended up landing right next to my shoulder, so I turned my head and just screamed into it (not sure if anybody who recorded the show can hear it, listen out for the "dying cow" scream, haha) which was even more fun for me.

Everything after that was pretty damn amazing. I was so happy hearing them play "Only" and it was hilarious seeing everyone around me starting to dance rather than jump/attempt to mosh to it. But the absolute highlight of the set for me were the three songs which followed on after. First, I know "Wish" is pretty much considered a staple song in their setlists, but to someone like myself who absolutely loves the song AND has never heard it live before, it was damn cool. The absolute tip top, number 1, 100% holy fucking shit part of the night for me was hearing them play "Burn". The song that basically started me off on Nine Inch Nails ;) it's the reason why I still have a sore neck and bruises up and down my back and sides. Still can't get over the fact that they played it...so damn good. Again, "Gave Up" seems pretty common again, but it's another one of my all time "I need to hear this live" songs so I was cheering, especially AFTER hearing "Wish" and "Burn" back to back.

The rest of the set was absolutely awesome as well. I finally heard "Hurt" played live. I purposely stopped listening to it after the tour was announced just so it would seem so much more magical on the night, and it worked :D

Well, I just got home and while some of you are following the road show some of us need to work. To tie me over for the last few hours I have been reviewing footage, sound checking audio and also managed to upload to youtube. I have also decided that my audio from this night is pretty good except for the crackles and bangs every time someone walks past in front of me, I would prefer to give this a little clean up before making it available to the community so you will need to wait a little for this to happen. So without any further delays please see NIN MOTP live in Sydney on 06-03-2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dcri_N9e83U

Thanks for the link! :D

I was expecting the tour poster to be the same for every gig, so I didn't even bother looking at the merch stand for the second Sydney show because I got the Ken Taylor poster at the first show. It wasn't until the Newcastle show that I saw there was a different coloured version of the 1st Sydney gig. Was really upset that I missed out on a poster for the second show, but a bit surprised to see it's not by the same artist. Will grab it off the website anyway!

Finalized payment of both mine today, John from Beyond The Pale did say Thursdays posters are flying out and won't last much longer. Now I just need to wait for him to send them as he is being run off his feet with deliveries to all the shows before deadline. I had no idea these posters were even being offered for sale...actually pretty bummed I didn't pick one up at the show (I did get the generic HM one, though). Might grab the second Sydney show poster off that site, not too keen on the first nights one.

The chances of grabbing a signed one must have been pretty slim. I believe they were limited to ~300 prints per show (too lazy to go check my posters, beds too comfy), and the bands would have only signed a couple. Doubt the merch staff would have gone through to check which ones were signed if you asked them to.

Did you think it was a bit weird they had the Tension tour posters? I understand there's avid collectors who'd love it but I think the majority of people only collect dated posters of concerts/tours they've been too.

Exactly what I thought as well! I even asked the guy if the posters would still be there after the show and he points to what I thought were the QOTSA posters and goes "those there are limited *points to NIN posters* those will be around well after the show".

I found that very odd. I was hoping that those posters would have tour dates on them for the Australian shows. Pretty upset that there wasn't, but I already have the promotional poster for the shows already so I'm not all that bummed. Well, I am a little bit because the Aussie shows on that HM background would look pretty sexy.

I was lucky enough to walk into Utopia one lunch break to pick up a few missing singles in my NIN collection (mostly TDS era stuff) and on the way out I saw the poster just sitting there in a shitty plastic frame sitting on the ground. I just stood there staring at it thinking "I could totally run with this thing right now and nobody would know", but then I figured as usual, if I even TRIED doing that I would feel guilty as fuck for a whole year and would feel like shit every time I looked at the poster. So I quickly gave my girlfriend the CD's I'd picked up, ran back downstairs and like a little kid I told the guy behind the counter that the really awesome NIN tour poster had come off the wall and whether I could offer him any money for it or if he was kind enough to let me have it for free. So I follow him upstairs, point out the poster for him and he kneels down and pulls it out of said plastic frame and gives it to me saying "Here man, it's just a piece of paper to me, you can have it", to which I came back with "this thing is like gold to me, you're a fucking champion" and jumped on the train back to work with a massive smile on my face :D

I tried at my local record store a few times to get the poster they had hanging up, but they always tell me to come back AFTER the shows and they'll give it to me. I'm either always late, or they lie and keep it for themselves. Moral of the story - always ask, you might get lucky ;)

Surprisingly enough, they do! I can't remember exactly what they have, but I do know I cleaned them out pretty well. They're all priced surprisingly cheap, like, $10 or less from memory for a lot of the singles and CD's.

Might grab the second Sydney show poster off that site, not too keen on the first nights one.

So I finally got around to ordering the second Sydney show poster. I made the decision based on the fact that I already have the red Frontier Touring promo poster (with the single Sydney/Melbourne dates) and that I wanted a different poster to highlight the fact that I was also at the second show (seeing as I only have a print-at-home style ticket, I wanted something concrete).

Now I just need to find a balance between spending money on posters and getting them framed.

I was in Sydney for the shows and lived there many years ago but I'm just a happy FNQ resident that will travel to where I have to to see NIN. BTW that quote was for 2 (both Sydney posters), managed to get it reduced by a fair amount but still not cheap. Think I'm in the wrong business, these things better look special when I get them back.... Was going to get my poster from the Philippines properly framed as it is in a Target special ATM but decided I like it just the way it is.

That they do, this is how mine should be looking and for the price of framing they had better look exactly like my dreams have shown me..... It is hard to see on the night 2 poster but the first layer of matting is matching gold...

I demand you provide pictures when you get them back from the framers. If they come out looking anything like what you posted they'll be worth the money you paid.

Dammit, now I'm excited for you to get them back from the framers.

700 big ones for them both....... They needed to order the frame plus I'm waiting for Fridays ticket to arrive from Matt (slow postage up here) before they can complete them. Will probably be another week or so as long as cyclone Ita doesn't screw us around too much

Edit: Package arrived today thanks Matt :)

:( that doesn't leave me much hope for me getting my posters framed. I really wish I had that much to spend on framing, haha.

Good luck with the cyclone! Hope it stays far away and you don't get too affected by it.

^ Thanks nothing8, it is sitting on my house now so fingers crossed the roof stays on.... In regards to the framing I have been told that the place I am getting it done is very expensive although they do a good job, they better do a good job!!!

Just picked them up this afternoon. Well the good news is that my posters and the frame shop survived the cyclone, other good news is that I like the way they turned out but the bad news is..... THESE THINGS ARE FUCKING HARD TO PHOTOGRAPH!!!!!!!!!!!! :D http://i734.photobucket.com/albums/ww345/Dan_NIN_77/NINPosters.jpg (http://s734.photobucket.com/user/Dan_NIN_77/media/NINPosters.jpg.html)

You must have been so ecstatic picking them up!

Think you've inspired me to finally get around to framing mine. Might go get a quote this weekend.

Not sure if this subreddit exists, but if it does, these definitely need to be submitted to /r/FramePorn

You guys in the big smoke should be able to get better pricing than me, we don't have many options in Cairns. Still very happy with the results, I must say it looks much better in person.

Oh-feel-ya.

I used to work on a boat called Ophelia, that was a running joke. Funniest thing is I wish someone would ;-)

So who thinks the poster artist is a Home and Away fan? http://i734.photobucket.com/albums/ww345/Dan_NIN_77/NINvsHAA.jpg (http://s734.photobucket.com/user/Dan_NIN_77/media/NINvsHAA.jpg.html)
