Apologies in advance for omitting Latin America in the thread title. Anyhow, here's a quick overview of the official merchandise available in Tokyo for NIN2014 (for larger images, delete the "l" in the filename before the ".jpg" extension):

For those folks attending shows, please take pictures of the merch booth as the tour progresses so we can catalog any new items or designs.

With the exception of that weird NIN logo with the red circle in the middle, all the merch is identical to the festival and tension tours. Why didn't they create new designs for this tour? Hmm... Seems like the NIN camp really is burnt out.

That NIN Japan 2014 Banner is pretty wicked though, or is it a scarf? What is that thing?

What's weird about that NIN logo with the red dot? It's just the Chinese Flag dot placed behind the NIN logo.

Also why should they completely change the merch? Just because all of it was sold already here in the states, doesn't mean that anyone over in the rest of the world shouldn't have a chance to buy the exact same designs. New year does not equate to not being part of the same touring cycle.

What I bought;

t-shirts A, B, C, E and F = 3,500 yen * 5
I didn't buy D=new grey PHM and G that I had bought at Fuji Rock last summer.

beanie = 3,500 yen

zip up hoodie = 7,000 yen

key chain = 1,000 yen

badges = 1,000 yen

I spent 30,000 yen / approximately $300 on merch :(

I may buy towel (1,500 yen) and lithograph (2,000 yen) if not sold out tomorrow.
Yesterday towel was sold out even before the doors opened.
Is towel sold / popular in other countries?

Though I can help people who want Japan tour merch, as I live in Tokyo international shipping is expensive.
If you can rely on people who came from abroad and will go back to their home country, cost-wise it's much more reasonable.
If you're OK with high shipping fee, please PM me ASAP.
FYI, our local time is GMT + 9 hours.

IIRC, the towels have always been exclusive to Japan in past tours.

I've seen many international bands selling towels at shows in Japan. Didn't know it's peculiar. Thanks for info.

I know it's only two shows, but these set lists have been uninspired and boring. It's OK to take Piggy out of the set list. It's OK to take Terrible Lie out. It's OK not to play March of the Pigs every night - it really is. I'm hoping I'm just being a little premature in my evaluation of these shows. Also, the 4 piece just ain't doing it for me. At least with 5 people there is the illusion that not everything is pre-recorded. I like the flexibility that the 4 piece offers in terms of set list (Wave Goodbye tour), but I'm sure this can be achieved with 5 members in the band. This is my bitch-fest. I don't post often but I'm really "disappointed" that NIN has such a huge back catalog that never sees the light of day in a live setting. That being said, I'm still be a huge fan and will pay good $$ to see them again (for the 11th time) when they tour anywhere within a 300 mile radius of me.

Only angle I could take a photo from (I was too busy to take one when I was actually purchasing my merch, but I might take photos of what I bought). I thought it was weird they were selling a poster with North American dates on it but no poster for Australian dates, but cool that they've made that available to collectors here.

There was a girl shirt. I forget what it looked like...I guess generic....black with logo and some blue on it maybe? I should have taken more photos since when I went to the merch this time around, most people had already gone, so I had a clearer view, space, as well as time. I guess if the same thing happens tomorrow night I will take more photos.

I was pretty pissed that they only had that one poster with the American tour dates on it. So I just picked up one of the tour date shirts (with the NIN box logo on the front) and the Hesitation Marks poster. I ALMOST paid $15 for a keychain, but then I thought to myself “...what the fuck" and ended up ditching it.

NIN did randomly signed posters during the North American tour, too.

Yeah... those "limited edition art prints" that also made their way to AUS.

Why NIN, with all their resources, haven't consistently done one-off show prints is something I haven't been able to understand. It really seemed, by the rhetoric in the presale emails, that was what they meant by "limited edition art prints". Or at least that it implied that "limited edition art print" didn't mean "left over promo posters from 'Hesitation Marks' that we won't reprint once we've sold the huge lot that we've got left over". The only reason I even bought one was the chance that it may have been signed, which it wasn't, and which is why it sits in a tube in my closet.

I was pretty disappointed with the Tension2013 merch situation, as a lot of people were, and that whole poster debacle was the pinnacle of it all.

richardp
03-09-2014, 06:09 PM
I was a bit surprised that the Tension tour didn't feature the same poster situation as the HTDA tour, with the signed posters being sold first to .Com presales, and switched out every 6 nights. But I guess that probably would have been a lot of extra work too, for such a big tour.

A stack of measuring tape. The metallic sort, what's the term? Topped with what looks like a sort of crop. I dunno. Bought the poster myself and it's nice enough, only I noticed last night that one of the colons inbetween the listed cities isn't the same color as others. Something something OCD. Why do I always get the botched merch? Should I get a doctor's note and show it to people before they sell me stuff that'll drive me off the edge?

Tour shirts tend to be £25 these days, sometimes £30. I've noticed as the price increases the quality seems to decrease.

Saying that the shirt I bought at the Scala last year is good quality and isn't falling apart after one year's wear and tear.

Scott - the t-shirts were £25 at Bham. Hoodie £50. Badges £8 (!). Frankly it was all a bit disappointing; small and uninspiring choice.

The only one I liked was the nin logo in the centre of a blue circle but then realised to my dismay it was women's fit only :(

Surprisingly, the only 2013 tour shirts available on NIN's merch store were from the festival run (fractured NIN logo & x-ray) and the exclusive Troubadour show. None of the Tension specific merchandise was made available online, which was irritating as some items were only available at later dates on the tour. I believe some of the Tension posters were available during the Australian dates this year.

It's possible once this tour cycle is finished (presumably after the Soundgarden dates) excess inventory from Tension & the 2014 tour will be available online, but I wouldn't count on it.

Perhaps if you ask nicely, a kind soul might offer to get a shirt from an upcoming date if you PayPal them. Otherwise, check eBay and hope you aren't gouged on the price & shipping.

Good luck!

I know most people hated the designs, but there definitely were a few Tension shirts I really enjoyed that I couldn't get my hands on, and considering it was my first NIN tour I really want to have as many memories/pieces of memorabilia as I can (I didn't get one of the posters, and I've regretted not doing that for a while; instead I got a women's shirt whose cut is so impractical that I'll never be able to wear it; apparently an extra large woman is still tiny). I'm really hoping after the SG tour a lot of stuff goes up on the site, as I know it would clean out my bank account and I'd be okay with it.

They had them at Manchester in all sizes, which pleased me because I had also been at the Notts gig & they had sold out of my size at that time.

The shirt will probably be available at the other Euro dates, and then in the future will be sold online in whatever sizes they have left.

Yes I was after this one but the rubbish merch stall at Nottingham only had small left - which of course we all know is the perfect size for the majority of NIN fans....NOT :mad: FFS.

Hello! I was wondering if anyone would be able to pick me up a European tour shirt over the next few days and ship it to England (pretty pretty please!) I'd give the money for the shirt and shipping through paypal, and I'd be ridiculously grateful! (I was at the Nottingham show and didn't have the money to get one at the time :( )
My preferences are the grey logo/tour dates on the back shirt first (size small), the 3D logo one second (size small), then the women's fit one with the circle on the front third (size small or medium).
If anyone's willing to do this then drop me a PM and we can sort something :)

The US ones are typically 18x24.

I know it's a long shot, but I'm desperately looking for a poster from the European leg. Does anyone have one that he would be willing to sell?

Sorry to bump this thread, but I have a Large NIN3D shirt that I'd be looking to sell or trade, but I'm looking for an XL of the same shirt preferably. These shirts run a little small, especially after you wash them so it doesn't fit like my other larges.
