I know there are quite a few Sonoio fans here so I thought I'd post the new thread for it.

Alessandro has become on of my favorite musicians over the last few months. I haven't gone more than a few days the last few months without listening to both Red and Blue. Unfortunately I wasn't able to see him on tour. Apparently he's working on the new Sonoio album though which I believe will be Orange and he's also said that he has some new Blindoldfreak that will be released sometime soon.

I'm definitely looking forward to that more than the RED remix album. He said that it's pretty much new Blindoldfreak but he's going to release it under his own name.

Ya know, I really wish I could tell you. It sounded like a remix. If I had to pick something, it was either the Houdini Big Black Delta remix or the Enough Demo, but the begining of the song had a long instrumental part for about 2 minutes and then I recognized it as a SONOIO song when Allesandro's singing started.

I didn't pay much attention to the remix album at first but left it on my iPhone anyway. The songs would start coming up on shuffle, and I'd stop and think, "Whoa, what was that?!?" In a good way.

So the remixes have definitely grown on me. Can't wait to here what Josh Eustis (Telefon Tel Aviv) and Eric Avery (Jane's Addiction) do for their Red remixes.

My fave off the red remixes would definately hands down have to be "scientist" by Daniel Meyer.
I have to say I never really noticed this song, until I heard the remixed version.

Anyway, I wouldn't say you are being too optimistic, someone asked Alessandro on twitter if we were gonna get some SONOIO rock this summer and he said, and I quote exactly what he tweeted:

"summer will be spent in the studio...fall might be more realistic!" - That was on May 1st.

Sooo... I'd say chances of some SONOIO this year are good. He also tweeted a photo the other day with the quote "Band for the day" and he had 2 synths and a drum machine hooked up. soooo, once again I'd say he's well on his way to making some rockin' tracks for us. =)

Even then, he was clearly up to something with Jon Bates...so who knows if that was for SONOIO or BBD. However, since Jon's been posting pictures of him working in the studio, with Alessandro, and now Josh Freese, I'm thinking those are probably BBD related.

Or, and this is complete hopeful pointless speculation, Bates and Cortini are working on an EP together under a new name that we don't know yet, which would be fucking incredible. :P Leave me alone, I can dream.

When I talked to him at one of the Ladytron shows, he was definitely going to work on the third album next, but that was in October, so who knows now. He also spoke vaguely about releasing all three together physically in some box after they were all out, but he didn't want to get into in much detail and swore me to secrecy (oops!). He also talked about some other ideas, one of which was the Scientist 7" that came out. Either way, looking forward to whatever he puts out. BBD stuff is also pretty rad!

I REALLY hope he whips up a new batch of SuONOIOs for the next release. I asked him on Facebook a while back if we'd see more with the next album, and he told me, "They're all sold out, sorry!" So...either there was just a little misunderstanding, or does that mean the batch of SuONOIOs made for Red were just extras leftover from Blue? I didn't think that was the case...But hey! Even though the new NIN tour starts tomorrow and the new album is out in about a month, there is still other music.
One of these other musics is the new solo project by Alessandro Cortini, Forse 1.


If you like his other solo project, SONOIO, you'll probably like this and, if you don't like SONOIO...well, this is enough NOT like it that you still might enjoy it.

I really dig Sonoio but I am just not into his instrumental stuff as much. I like how Sonoio has actual song structure as to where his solo stuff just loops one thing for 9 minutes and just builds into a more static version of the loop. I know he is a very brilliant guy and knows his shit as far as equipment but I get bored with someone just twiddling knobs over the same loop for so long. No dis on anyone who likes him, just my opinion. If there is any of his instrumental stuff that is not so "loopy" I would love to hear it! I have heard blindoldfreak and samples of his solo stuff FYI.

It's closer to Forse than Sonoio and soundwise Forse is closer to Sonoio than this. If you like Aphex Twin's Selected Ambient Works Vol. II or 80s Eno, this should be the right thing for you. Otherwise not necessarily a must-buy

As a result of being late to the party, I'm missing the first record by Richard Devine. However, due to the fact that I can be slightly absent minded at times, I managed to order Cortini's 7" 2x. I'm looking to trade my spare for Devine's Creature I & II record. Even better would be if you had the free alternate version download that accompanied Devine's record.

This'll be the first of the Shared System Series that I've ordered. I buy all of Surachai's stuff on vinyl. His most recent album, Ritual was awesome. And his black metal albums are insane.

Received the Slumberman EP in the mail today. Definitely a no-frills release, heh.

I got my Slumberman record today as well. Very surprised by how bare bones it was for packaging.

Anyone plan on recording the vinyl to FLAC or mp3?

I recently got equipment to be able to do it but I'm not confident in my skills yet.
