What are these rumors about a 2014 USA Pavilion Tour? Where did they start? Does anybody have any sources? I've scoured the internet and I have been unable to find the source of these 'rumors'. Thanks!

History + timing + logic = Summer pavilion tour in NA next year.

The rumors are just that. NIN fans are huge into speculation, to a fault. There's no actual news to indicate it, but that doesn't mean it will never happen. All we can do is wait until we hear something.
Either way, we will find out... soon.

I heard someone associated with NIN (I could be more specific but I don't want anyone getting in trouble.) tell the people next to me last night. "We'll be back in the States next Summer."

One of the roadies told me the same thing.

Now those people will be fired, and the summer tour will be cancelled, since info leaked. :p

So if and only if this happens , will we see the festival shows or tension shows? - Not a big fan of Pavilion type tours...Sucks more for US in Buffalo , pretty sure Trent hates Darien Lake.

They're going to tour Antarctica now instead.

I was told the same thing by a NIN employee. Shed tour confirmed.

IF they are going to do these 'pavilion' shows outdoors it makes me think that NIN will be doing almost a carbon copy of the NIN/JA shows where the light show etc is very stripped down with a very varying setlist every night due to lack of being tied down to the big visuals...no way from a production standpoint are NIN going to be able to pull of the Tension2013 visuals/stealth screens at these 'pavilions'...hence the reason why Trent didnt use the same production for the outdoor festivals and the arena shows this time around

I'd rather see NIN do Tension 2.0 in the smaller markets to be honest than have them play in the pavilions. The closest pavilions to me are about 2 1/2 hrs away which is very inconvenient for me so I would like to bitch about them playing closer so I don't have to fork out money for gas/hotel..and woe is me..

^^^ Not a fan of amphitheaters for obvious reasons, but the '06 summer tour is probably the most underrated NIN tour (at least not many people seem to talk about it on the forums anyway).

And many bands do this stuff when having a spring/summer/early fall schedule- I'm guessing operating costs are cheaper for these venues than an arena.

I totally agree, caught 2 shows on that tour, the lithographs were tight.

Also, they had a similar (big full screen behind the band with screen-like grate with LEDs in front of the band) visual setup for that tour. I still remember how awesome I thought Trent "interacting" with the flowing liquid light affect during Closer was.

I would prefer it not to be a summer amphitheater tour, because heat and small GA, any venue smaller than a full ice rink is preferable, for a closer more intimate experience. But I'll take what I can get. Especially if it means a proper Philly date. Hopping the subway for MIA was great, but being a festival was not so great.

I had nosebleed seats at the Hollywood Bowl show in '05. It still kicked a lot of ass.

I would prefer NIN to do a club tour, like the Spiral show at Casino Morongo in '06, but the tickets will be a bitch to get. A club show will definitely sell out.

the show at jones beach (with peaches/bauhaus) was one of my top three shows, maybe even my second favorite... definitely an underrated tour, but the best of the WT-era by far. the NIN/JA shows were also fantastic for the dynamic, ever-changing setlist. i'm all for a pavillion tour next summer...

man, i didn't even know that tour leg happened . . what was i doing then!? (i have a feeling that i didn't realize that an amphitheater was different than an arena.)

I really really really hope so. For a variety of frustrating reasons, I'm not able to make it any Tension shows this fall, including the one show I had a ticket for :(. I am glad to hear that there may be some truth to the rumors.

I have happy memories of the 06 outdoor shows.

Of course I hope these rumours become a reality. I love Nine Inch Nails in any way I can see them. The Lights in the Sky tour was a sight to see and Tension is no different, but at the end of the day, all those amphitheater tours were always better.

I love a great production as much as the other guy but varying setlists is much more exciting every night. I'm glad he gave himself a little more leeway with the current tour in certain areas, definitely more so than LITS but the Wave Goodbye/NINJA tour were far superior when it came to setlists.

Pavilions aren't the ideal setting I know, but if it means an unpredictable setlist almost every night, count me in.

For the love of all that is holy, please let there be a Des Moines date. I am sick and tired of flying to fucking Pittsburgh, Chicago, or Boston (I have friends and family in all cities) to catch a show. /1st world whine

I agree. I love the spontaneity of those shows...Trent really pulled out all the stops for WG/NINJA due to the 'calling it quits for awhile' mentality. It would be interesting to see if/how an upcoming pavilion tour would compare....

I'd much rather they continue the Tension tour and maybe throw in a few new sequences than an amphitheater tour, but that's just because Chicago has been screwed out of shows on both the LITS and Tension tours. We haven't had an arena show with full production since 2005! I want the chance to see these visuals in person.
