Confirmed:

Australia (and New Zealand?)

Europe:
UK tour for April 2014 confirmed by Trent Reznor in the Zane Lowe interview on August 19, 2013.
Reported "leaked" show for Madrid circulated on the internet in mid-2013.
A statement of "See you next year" in Zurich.

UNCONFIRMED:

South America:
Rumours circulate of the band taking part in Lollapalooza shows in Chile and Brazil.

Let's discuss and act like excited fools.

Anyone know what Trents bank account looks like at the moment? Will he be able to afford to put Pino, Sharlotte, Lisa and all his flashing new toys on the plane and out of the US for once?
Thinking about this a bit more, I could see this possibly happening.
Taking Melbourne as an example, if it were just NIN, they'd be playing at Festival Hall but now with QOTSA they could easily do shows at Rod Laver which is more suited to the Tension production.
I can only hope. Seen them in Oz, Europe, UK and recently at MIA (which was awesome) and over my 14 shows, but never seen the "big production".
Not complaining though, it's fukn NIN after all!! Shit will be lost

Australia early part of the year?

Euro spring time?

US summer ampitheater tour!?!?!?!?

Beat guesses I can come up with...

EDIT: also guessing he'll go back to the typical 5 piece band (just my speculation/hope).

The Oz announcement has made my day. It'll be really interesting to see if they keep on doing club shows or do arena shows instead. I think they could easily do an arena show considering there'd be pretty big demand from both NIN & QOTSA fans, but a club show with both of them would just be absolutely phenomenal.

There was a little birdy. A birdy that is close to Filter management who told her that Filter is getting ready for "extensive touring" with NIN and it kicks off in the spring time. That little birdy could be full of shit, or I could...

OZ is great news, I hope that means a good selection of Pac-rim shows. I'm in Shanghai and missed Japan and Korea doh. Will not miss this swing.

It's possible that Filter could be the third band on the bill.

Would make some sense. Euro tour and then hopefully US ampitheter tour.

I'd imagine tr will bring out the full production to Oz. He said he had something special planned, there has always been an overwhelmingly positive response from fans when they tour + QOTSA's latest album was triple j feature album when released and both NIN and QOTSA still feature prominently on radio (JJJ). They will easily sell out arenas this time round.

There was a little birdy.

Ah, but you know what happens when birdies tweet before they're supposed to. See also: the Everything video, the Soundwave festival, Adrian Belew, Rich Fownes, several years of Lollapalooza rumors, and the list goes on. Whenever something about NIN live leaks way ahead of schedule, it inevitably gets shitcanned. It's almost beyond coincidence, as if someone in Nine Inch Nails has a very strong appreciation for folks who know when to keep their mouth shut.

p.s. filter sucks and I hope your birdy is wrong.

I really don't care for Filter(there, I said it). So if there is a future plan that they are on tour together I would be happy if the plan was changed. Especially happy if it were canceled and I were the first to post about it and therefor the main reason...

Filter is, at best, a small club band here. And to be fair judging by the UK time slots and attendance NIN doesn't have the same popularity over in Europe/UK either.

Every band I've seen since LITS has been a bit of a snore fest. Would like to see something with a bit more energy, wether they're technically better or not doesn't really matter.

Just to add to this list... The Winnipeg Manitoba show that was supposed to open the tour on September 27th before St. Paul. I'm only throwing it out there as I know ALOT of people in Winnipeg that are pissed off the show "was mysteriously taken off the radar" also known as, someone spilled the beans before Trent was ready to release the tour info so.... goodbye Winnipeg show.

Has that other show been cancelled yet? The "first 2014 date" that was leaked? It was some country in Europe.. Italy? Anyone remember what I am talking about had an April 2014 date release a few months ago?

EDIT: I found it... Page 43, Post number 1286 of the Nine Inch Nails 2013 tour thread.

Has this been posted anywhere here yet?
first tour date of 2014?

Yeah, like Gary Numan. Nobody knows who the fuck that guy is.

NIN are actually quite big in the UK - big enough for a 15 date tour in 2007 and big enough for the Brixton Academy to be their most played venue ever (10 times). RE: festivals - yes, comparatively Biffy Clyro and Metallica are much bigger.

Biffy seems to only be big in the UK. We're their neighbours and they're... kinda big. They played the O2 in Dublin and it was "sold out" but I read they had more than half the place sealed off. They're a bit like David Hasselhoff, I guess.

i was expecting qotsa to be on the second soundwave announcement, but that's looking more unlikely now as i suspect the nin + queens tour across australia and new zealand will be jan/feb.

the production that is going on with tension 2013 is specifically for that tour, so i'm not holding my breath for anything overly significant production wise down here.

Are you suggesting he'd penalise the UK for the Reading fiasco? I'd be miffed to put it mildly! Can't see it though, he's not that petty, and he's already explained that he knows there's a dichotomy between festival and headline shows. Fingers crossed, just wished he'd get on and announce the dates already!

No, I'm not suggesting he'd scupper it to be petty, just that he may not think they'd sell out an arena - and I thought Reading and the production was supposed to be a promotional push which was scuppered

That's what I'm wondering. I was lucky enough to live in North America during the LITS tour and I'm not sure this type of production would fit in venues such as Brixton Academy or Zenith in Paris. From the clips I've seen, the Tension production doesn't seem as massive in terms of size so there's hope.

You're forgetting about three things: Other festivals in the area (Festival Stereo Picnic in Colombia comes to mind, between LollaCh and LollaBr), other cities that they may visit (local dates) and Lollapaaloza Argentina.

However, I may be clinging to hard for something that could not happen (again).

LollaCh will publish their lineup next Tuesday. We will see.

Such cak dates. Only Saturday night gig is in Newcastle?!? And Brisbane and Sydney midweek...looks like a couple of days off. Oh well, could be worse. As I said to a couple of guys I met at MIA, they don't realise how lucky they get it when it comes to NIN.
$125 for tickets. Add another $10 per ticket for arse licking fee. Sounds about right too for the most expensive country in the world.

icklekitty
10-09-2013, 04:31 PM
$125! Damn, that's a leap from the last time they played Australia. I suppose it's speculatorily possibly that this factors in the new light show as well as the increased crowd draw. If they do come to the UK on this scale (price and production) tickets are going to be 50% more than a Take That ticket and marginally less than a Kylie show. And production wise....Hm.

umby1979
10-09-2013, 04:52 PM
Yep, about $100 from 2009. Surprisingly, I thought tickets would be more, closer to the $140. Which is fucking sad, but that's what we pay. I don't get why Australia charge so much for tickets.
Here's an example, recently saw that a band from Melbourne called Cosmic Psychos were playing in LA for $12. Before they went OS, they played in Melbourne and charged $40 a ticket!! They are playing some more shows where it's $30 a ticket. That is a massive jump up in price for playing locally, compared to the US.
I've still got NIN tickets from the '05 and '07 tours around 25 quid. Those were the days.

reseen_lamenti
10-09-2013, 04:52 PM
$125 (GA) at Rod Laver for NIN + QOTSA with equal set times isn't bad at all.

For example: at the same venue Radiohead, Muse, Linkin Park/Stone Sour, Tool, Black Sabbath and Metallica were more expensive. To be honest I was expecting $150/160 but I'm more than pleased now. :D

Surprised you say that when you say 'and production wise..hm', or are you saying that Take That/Kylie have better shows? Haven't seen Kylie's but I've seen the Take That one, and I'd agree, it's a much bigger production. To me, Tension doesn't have the 'wow factor' of LITS, but I'll reserve judgement until I've actually seen it in the flesh.

If US tour tickets are between $50-$100 at present (picked LA Staples Centre at random) I'm expecting tickets in the UK to be between £45 and £60. So if you're saying that's 50% more expensive than Take That tickets, you're inferring that the best Take That seats sold at £40? Seems very unlikely.

Again going back to the Zane Lowe interview, he did suggest that Europe would get the full show. Can't remember the quote, sure someone will help out with this...
He (trent) specifically said 'all the trimmings' which I took to mean full production

Not to be greedy but I really hope they play another date next year in the st louis/columbia area.

I keep thinking about this as well too, I have posted about this several times but I would love for Trent to do what he did for the With Teeth and Lights in the Sky tours and have one big initial North American tour and then get second market areas on a second leg.

I'm sure Trent would love to give Chicago a proper non festival show so if Tension 2014 includes more NA dates, I'd like to think Columbia will get a date like they did in the fall of 2008.

I will be in Japan in March of next year, and I am seriously entertaining the idea of attending the shows in Sydney and Newcastle.

That's going to be quite pricey. $125 a show, and then airfare, lodging and transportation. Not to mention that Australia is expensive as sin; I could be easily looking at a $2,000 hit just to pull that off.

But man, to see Trent and Josh kill it on a couple of songs together...that would be priceless. Another NIN memory to smile about all the way to my grave.

Not to mention all those fine ass Australian ladies at the shows

Anyone wanna take NIN 2014 guesses at US dates?

Im guessing 3 possibilities

1. Summer Amphitheaters with a QOTSA or Filter tour package
2. Another Fall tour to finish out tour with HTDA in tow , with a I'm done touring NIN for "NOW" hype
3. A night of NIN only

I say there's no way they're wrapping up Tension production after just one US leg. With Teeth arena tour went through NA twice, so did LITS, so will probably Tension. So, a second leg Tension tour in early '14. Possibly even from December.

When ticketek sell for multiple venues you are better to just switch from one venue to the other and as soon as they are on sale it will have buy tickets. Worked well for me in the past and worked the same this time as I was able to get tickets for Sydney.

When you go from the QOTSA pre sale website it has limited availability for Sydney but no tickets are available which is strange.

Tried for Sydney but had no luck, got a ticket for Newcastle instead :)

I know on the nin website there's a whole bunch of t's & c's for purchasing presale tickets and that basically in order to get the presale tickets you have to be logged in as a nin.com member (pretty sure I'm a member but it's been a while!) and purchase the tickets through there.

As someone else mentioned earlier though, I just went to the nin tour page, clicked on the link and got taken straight to the ticketek website. There was no need to be logged in to nin.com as a member. And I've got the email confirmation and funds deducted from my bank account so I know it went through.

The whole thing about having to be signed in as a nin.com member really confused me.

they'll flip a coin. if it's heads, they'll take turns playing last in Sydney and Melbourne. if it's tails, they'll flip a coin each night. :p

(bonus: with those rules, what are the chances that NIN plays last exactly one night in Sydney?)

My guess is that for cities where there's only one show, NIN will headline and for the two-show cities, they'll take it in turns.

Had very potential travel plans to see NiN in LA, Vegas and/or Seattle, but gutted to say they fell through. Besides what's already been said, do most of you anticipate more dates being added to the US tour before/after they head down under? I'm in the San Francisco area and I'd be shocked if they let their Outside Lands show be the only appearance for that region. Same could be said about Chicago, etc. If more are added, I pray they don't play the amphitheaters! As Jack White once said, music is best enjoyed indoors. Cheers!

EXCITED now

Immediately thought of your comments yesterday when I saw this on Twitter and thought 'have WorzelG's comments prompted him to sort out those 5 consecutive nights at Brixton' (we can only dream that it's big enough to fit in the stage show)....late April preferred here due to work commitments earlier in the month! I'd be able to go whatever night, but ideally want to see him them 3 or 4 times to really soak it in, experience different setlists, and see it in different scenarios (ie with/without friends, ga/seating/venues) and my work commitments would get in the way of me taking a week off. Whatever, bring it on...and hoping that 'all the trimmings' means we get to see Pino and the girls as well as the amazing stage show.

Will the dates match with when I can take time off? Am I going to regret spending all that money on cases of wine instead of tickets? Will I get paid early like last month?

So if this date is June 3, I wonder if that's the first date or just the first one announced. If it's the first show and then they still have to do the rest of Europe and the UK and that doesn't leave much time for an amphitheatre tour here.

Although they could do Europe in June/July, then start the U.S. in August/September and go through December in arenas again. OR YOU KNOW, CLUBS, THAT WOULD BE FINE TOO.

So, the presale for Tension. Do they generally offer rail (or close) GA and seats. If seats too, then are these generally close to the stage? Like, not to the side of the stage but not far off. Becuase I can't work out the best thing to do should they play the O2. If it's 2 nights that's fine as I'll go in seats with mates one night (they won't want to get in amongst it, lame I know!) and GA the other, with a view to hanging back around soundboard area so I can take the whole show in. If so, is there any point me going for nin.com presale as you pay a premium to be on/near the rail and I want to be further back than that. Also if the seats are close to stage on the side, will I get the full effect of the stage show, or should I go for the one's nearer the back of the arena that directly face the stage? Bearing in mind if I'm with mates they'll want the full effect view in seats too. So many things to consider...!

Also thought about if they played Brixton - if they can even fit the stage show in there, would there be any point in watching it from the upstairs bit, as you need to be low down to get the best of the stage show I imagine?

Anyone who's seen the shows able to confirm any of this or ease my concerns about the visibility from sides/above?

And it was really a new tour, not a new leg. So 10 months isn't bad. Lots better than four years.

BTW it was 2 years 11 days between last WT US date and first LITS US date. But if you count Hawaii during Perf07, it was a year and 2 months between a WT US date and a Perf07 US date, and then 10 months until the next US date on LITS.

Forewarned is forearmed as they say...

1. You will get early entry with the choice of GA and/or seats for an arena. There is no guarantee of barrier, just that you will be the first 10% of people to enter the venue.
2. The seats will be "the block with the best view of the stage" which is subjective. Block 102 at the o2 vs block 112? I think they tell you before you order though.
3. NIN.com presale is not a premium price. Sometimes it's cheaper.
4. When NIN played the o2 in 2009, the fact that the venue has several entrances (despite one being designated as presale) TOTALLY FUCKED UP EVERYTHING FOR EVERYONE. None of the above applies.
5. Security at the o2 are awful. If you want water, even on the barrier, you need to pay for it.

If they play the o2 I'm going for seats and getting some Nandos beforehand.

Are you sure you don't mean 1 1/4 years?

05-26-2006 (summer WT amphitheater tour) to 09-06-2008 (LITS 1st leg)

2 years and nearly 4 months.

Cheers for the info - certainly wasn't aware that it may be cheaper! Useful to know they'll let you know what block you'd be buying in presale. I'd certainly presume that block 112 view would be the better of the two as you can see the stage from a wider angle if that makes sense. I don't mind being further away if that's the pay-off.

Yeah especially after the £15 odd quid for fees and postage from Ticketmaster. Nin.com tickets were £35 in 2009. Seats for this Italian show are 50 euros, for comparison.

05-26-2006 (summer WT amphitheater tour) to 09-06-2008 (LITS 1st leg)

2 years and nearly 4 months.

You're counting from the first date of WT to the last date of the first leg of LITS, instead of from the last to the first.

Last WT US date was 7/8/06; first LITS US date was 7/19/08 - two years and a few days.

Plus the Hawaii date on 9/18/07.

Mr.Metheus
11-14-2013, 01:52 PM
Also if the seats are close to stage on the side, will I get the full effect of the stage show, or should I go for the one's nearer the back of the arena that directly face the stage? Bearing in mind if I'm with mates they'll want the full effect view in seats too. So many things to consider...!

Is it an end-stage sports arena setup? I bought my tickets in the second section from the stage, five rows up, and I was very happy with my view. I was at a decent enough angle to get pretty much the full effect of the stage show but I was still close enough to get a good view of the musicians (other than Josh, Pino and Ilan who were on the opposite side from me). If I'd been sitting in the first section from the stage I think the angle would have been too extreme.

Without googling or going to RITC, pretty sure it was almost 2 years to the date. Summer '06 tour ended in July, LITS started in July (I think it was July anyway) '08.

Yeah, but you're both assuming that the first US date after the end of the 2006 tour was the first date of LITS. An assumption that is wrong.

Bologna GA is €50, seats €60 on NIN.com presale for those trying to keep a track on likely costs for the European tour. Section b, row 2 was offered when I looked at around 3pm GMT, don't know how far that was into the sale.

Update - 3 hours later they're offering section L row 1. Section L appears to be closer to the stage per the link below. Seems unusual that they'd offer apparently better seats later on, but does at last prove that they're offering primo tickets, rows 1 and 2 so far!

Hmm, but on radio 1? Where you get more numbers and people listening to it at work and stuff. Anyway, I always find it quite painful to listen to, so I'm just recording it on my tv box, then I can fast forward the shite when I have time to listen. I can't believe the stuff people are putting on facebook! Like I'm sure they're going to play Nottingham Rock City! Ludicrous. Every band though when they announce tours people always end up shrieking at them to play their backyard. Why do they do this?

How many of the tickets are you unsure of? I'd probably be interested in taking 2 of them off your hands if necessary but appreciate you may not want to be left with one lone ticket.

well me too but I guess we shouldn't expect proper nin.com line organization again (as there wasn't one in 2007 as I heard)

Have someone you trust buy tickets for you. You can either give them your log-on information, or you can have them use their account and put your name as the will-call pickup name. (I bought a ticket for a friend to the Scala show this way.)

Weeeeee!! Regarding the pre sale and the O2, do people expect there will be much control over seat block or is it pot luck with ticket price bands being the only choice?

I've never seen an ability to pick where you'll be seated (other than choosing GA or seats) in any NIN presale. It's generally the section(s) closest to the stage on the side (probably the far sides of 112/101 and 102/111.

Is the 4 ticket limit per show or total purchase per account?

Thanks. Not needing two of them isn't out of the question in fact, but it's really, really early to judge it. I may end up not being sure about it until April or so.

Per show. You can buy 4 tickets to each of the UK shows if you want to.

In the interview with Zane Lowe, Trent said something to the effect of 'once this leg of the tour is over, that's gone. We'll have something completely different by the time we're over there.'

dunno if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I want a huge light show real bad, but I'd also be well up for some rarities being played.

Man, I am EXCITED.

That's a little worrying - really hoping for the Tension production and 8 piece band thang!

I'm not too worried about the contents of the interview, given that certain details were false last time.

I'm not sure I like that detail tbh.

The way I see it is that Tension wasn't what is should have been probably due to limited rehersal time so *hopefully* they'll be able to sort it out and the Europe shows will get the 'final product' so to speak.

I asked Lisa on twitter if she'd be with the band in 2014. She doesn't know.

Probably hitting Birmingham, Cardiff, London and Manchester. Have they announced nin.com on-sale times yet?

Really hope the current NIN lineup stays the same at least for next year.

As for the Russia shows. Is the promoter a legit guy? Wouldn't he use a more up to date pic of the band? Reminds me of the knock off Tension tees people have been posting here with the WT era lineup.
