I blub through most of it, frankly. The obliteration of every non-avian dinosaur is some of the very oldest news there is, but for whatever reason it sets me off like a fire hydrant when I'm confronted with it on celluloid. I was watching Jurassic Park yesterday and felt a twinge of it during the Triceratops scene...

I need to do the list again. I forgot to put some Kubrick films in that mix. Maybe the Orson Welles that I've seen. It's impossible to do these kinds of lists. Especially if you're a dedicated film buff.

I can't think of 25 favourite movies, but here are some of my favourites.

Barry Lyndon (Stanley Kubrick, 1975)
The Godfather (Francis Ford Coppola, 1972)
Splendor in the Grass (Elia Kazan, 1961)
The Wings of the Dove (Iain Softley, 1997)
Picnic at Hanging Rock (Peter Weir, 1975)
The Full Monty (Peter Cattaneo, 1997)
Breakfast at Tiffany's (Blake Edwards, 1961)
Farewell My Concubine (Chen Kaige, 1993)
Hana-bi (Fireworks) (Takeshi Kitano, 1997)
Les Amours Imaginaires (Heartbeats) (Xavier Dolan, 2010)

I also quite like Kubrick, but never got 2001. That fifteen minutes of silence at the end of the movie really scared me.
