The Hesitation Marks Leak Pool Rules

Like most of you killing time on here before this album "drops" (as the kids say), I thought it would be a fun idea to create a thread where the LEAK could be discussed.

The Fun Part: You predict the date and time of the Hesitation Marks leak, while discussing/whining about the lack of leak.

Ex: I think Hesitation Marks will leak on August 23rd, 2013 @ 7:36 EST, I need this album inside my ear holes or I'm going to complain on this thread.

The Rules: One guess per user. Make sure to specify the date and time.
Read through the thread to make sure you don't pick a duplicate time. In case of a duplicate prediction, the winner will be based on who posted their time first.

Once the album leaks, I will be basing this time off of www.hasitleaked.com, then the person that chose correctly will be awarded.
Also, if the leak was not predicted at the exact time, the ETS user who was closest to the time without going past that time is the winner.

The Pay Off: The winner will receive a special prize (estimated value $20-$30) with an entry fee of $0.00. You have nothing to lose, except maybe your dignity.
Winner will receive prize no later then Tuesday October 1, 2013

I supposed some kid at a record store might take a copy which arrived ahead of Sept 3rd and they might rip & torrent it. But I don't see why TR/Columbia would choose to leak the album. It would be a fuck you to everyone who paid for the album and it would reduce the volume of copies they would sell.

This time around I will with out a doubt wait for Sept 3rd to purchase and listen to the album. I'm not even watching youtube videos of the concerts (other than copy of a & sanctified) in en effort to ensure I'm surprised in October (Toronto).

actually, it's quite the opposite.

most leaks come from people directly or indirectly involved with pressing of the album, or shipping pressed copies to the warehouses. usually, one copy disappears, and the album miraculously is uploaded to the internet. so most leaks have nothing to do with execs or their decisions.

if the security levels are high and people involved are paid reasonably, usually leaks happen rather late, thanks to the people at the warehouses or storeowners who got it early.

and BTW, I don't think TR is incapable of leaking the album just for the hell of it... we all know what the guy thinks about leaks, piracy, internet etc.

plus, mostly leaks are a good thing. non-diehard-fans won't buy the album if they haven't heard it, and leaks are exposing the material to them beforehand, so if they like the album, they will buy it right when it hits the shelves - ergo, higher chart position right after its premiere! it's actually a great marketing strategy. and if you're a pirate, and you would download it anyway, any leak (or lack of one) won't change your decisions.

Not so much these days. Internet is faster for most everybody now and streaming is a much more honest preview than a lossless CD rip. A lot of plays on a stream generates income for the band where as a copy of a (sorry) full album can prevent some of the fans who don't have disposable cash from saving up for it, like we all did before the internet. Giving the stream to someone like Pitchfork or Rolling Stone lowers the money needed for an album's publicity budget since it insures some great press - usually.

Honestly, I don't see pitchfork giving this anything past a 6.5.
I have this inkling though that they are gonna finally jump on the NIN bandwagon this time around, give it like an 8.5. Then give The Fragile re-release a 9.5 and apologize for the initial review.
