One of my favorite sci-fi films! Sam Rockwell is amazing in this gem, and writer/director Duncan Jones is certainly on his way to the top. http://www.blogcdn.com/blog.moviefone.com/media/2008/11/moon1-(2).jpg

I was honestly a bit disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it's still one of my favorite recent films, but I expected more from it based on the trailers. It didn't deliver enough in the psychological mind-fuck area as I had hoped. Still pretty great though, and Sam Rockwell is a great actor.

Loved it, great use of models as well as CG (and I normally don't care much for CG) Clint Mansell's score is wonderful as well!

I watched this a while back and enjoyed it. I think the space film genre has a lot of great films and a lot of shit ones. Sometimes the good ones get lost in the mix. This one reminded me alot of a Twilight zone episode named Death Ship at first, then when you find out what's really happening. It becomes quite sad and differentiates itself enough for me to like it.

Wow, that totally slipped my mind. His score was by far the best thing about this film. I've listened to it tons of times.

I actually had the score playing this morning while I was getting ready to go run. I love the Three Year Stretch!

Got a little gem here for you all. Duncan Jones and Sam Rockwell did a Q&A after a screening of Moon last week (yes, last week). The entire thing was filmed.

Easily one of the best films of 2009, stuck by the subtly and tension of british sci-fi of the 80's. Sam Rockwell was amazing (several times) the score was epic and even Kevin Spacey came across as likeable without any actual screen time.

Yeah, I saw it in the theatre with my best friend, who's an engineering science major. We both enjoyed it. There was a thread on the old ETS where people argued over the merits/demerits of the surprise ending — but I thought it was great. Cool to see an original sci-fi idea make it through to a mass audience.

Sounds to me like that film was more of a career-advancer for Duncan, rather than a personal film like Moon, but I think they're both strong works regardless.

I liked source code, my girlfriend refused to see it because of the love story overtones in the trailer but it was miles away from that.
Didn't have the same impact as moon but I hear its getting optioned for TV in a 'Quantum leap' stylee

Really liked source code, but the bloody Blu ray had unskippable adverts before the main menu. Bastards.

I've got moon on DVD, is it worth upgrading?

Nope. Nothing on blu ray version you don't already have.

Clint played some of his score music for 3 nights in LA last week, as some of you might have heard. I love the second paragraph of this article regarding Duncan:

If 6x the picture quality or HD audio are important to you, yes. Otherwise, nah.

Thank you for reminding me about this. I think I'll go pick it up today...Really, the blu-ray is beautiful. If you really want a great picture, I'd say it's worth it. First time I watched it was on blu-ray.

There's another moon movie in the works, although it's not related to Moon.
Europa Report, also known simply as Europa, is about a mission to Jupiter's fourth moon.
It stars Sharlto Copley. There's not a whole lot to discuss at this point, so I'm not sure if it warrants a new thread, but I figure fans of Moon might want to know about it. Feel free to start a thread for it if anyone thinks there should be one.

The AV boost on Blu-Ray are important to me, but only if the film actually looks or sounds better. Not "blu rays technically can be better so it must be" but "yes it is a clear improvement on the DVD".

Impartial review (http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film2/DVDReviews49/moon_blu-ray.htm) of the Blu-ray from a trustworthy source. He doesn't compare it directly with the DVD but you get the idea.

Loved this film. Sad and very haunting at times. But can somebody finally give Rockwell an award??? Such a great actor. I just realized I only saw this movie once, that needs to change.

Shame on me for not immediately posting this here, but Duncan has FINALLY been able to release Moon posters for purchase.

Limited Edition Signed & Numbered Lithographs as well as Standard Posters (http://blog.manmademovies.co.uk/2012/11/08/all-i-want-for-christmas-is-a-moon-poster/)

Edit: Looks like the Lithographs are sold out. But plenty of posters still available!
