RIP. Decent obit: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obituaries/culture-obituaries/books-obituaries/10108884/Iain-Banks.html (https://owa.ncl.ac.uk/owa/redir.aspx?C=4da4058d340c4303b7cc28c2ab44588b&URL=http%3a%2f%2fwww.telegraph.co.uk%2fnews%2fobit uaries%2fculture-obituaries%2fbooks-obituaries%2f10108884%2fIain-Banks.html)

My fave Banks is Complicity and my fave M Banks is probably Surface Detail. Although "Transition" could count as a favourite for either.

Gutted, he was a brilliant writer. He will be missed. I've still a few of his left to read, my favorites being Look to Windward and The Crow Road.

I haven't read either of those yet. Might save them for my summer holiday.
