LILYHAMMER (Netflix Series)
Starring the dude that played Sylvio Dante in The Sopranos

Frank "The Fixer" Tagliano (Steven Van Zandt (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steven_Van_Zandt)), a former underboss (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Italian_American_mobsters_by_organization) of New York's Italian Mafia, is put in the witness protection program after testifying in a trial in the United States. Tagliano requests that he be relocated in Lillehammer, Norway; intrigued by the town when he saw television images of the 1994 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1994_Winter_Olympics) Winter Olympics (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winter_Olympics). His new identity is Norwegian-American immigrant Giovanni Henriksen. Soon, the local police begin to grow suspicious of his activities, as he expands to take over Lillehammer's criminal underworld (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Organized_crime).

It's a nice mix of comedy and drama. I think if you like The Sopranos, you will definitely dig this show. And they commissioned a second season, which is awesome news! I only just started watching it and me and my girl are hooked. Each episode just keeps picking up, getting better and better, and leaving you wanting to know "what's gonna happen next?"

Anyone else catch this show?

It sort of came out of nowhere on our national TV and I found it really great. I like how they show the quirkiness of the Nordic countries and the everyday life here in northern Europe from an American gangster's point of view. The mixture of English and Norwegian in conversations was a good idea I feel.
I am surprised the first season was so short though but I'm glad they're making another one so I'm looking forward to it.
