I searched through the first post and didn't find any thread for them!

One of my favourite bands, my favourite albums are "Elemental", "Songs From the Big Chair" and "Everybody Loves a Happy Ending" (That last one really deserves more love)

Favourite songs: Fish Out Of Water, Elemental, Secret World, Shout, The Working Hour, Falling Down, Advice For The Young At Heart, Pale Shelter, Memories Fade, Laid So Low (Tears Roll Down)...

I also loved Roland's 2001 solo album "Tomcats Screaming Outside". A real hidden gem!

Posting a thread because they finally launched their official website: http://tearsforfears.com/

And rumour has it they are back in the studio for a possible 7th studio album, their 5th together! ("Elemental" and "Raoul And The Kings of Spain" being Roland on his own continuing TFF)

i only like the first two records (and really dislike the sowing the seeds of love era stuff), but the hurting is perfect in every way. i love most of songs from the big chair as well. 'memories fade' is probably my favorite, and the old band was supposed to cover 'watch me bleed' (but sadly it never happened).

Today is the 30th anniversary of The Hurting... if I didn't already feel old enough. : /

I love the hurting and songs from the big chair. Tried listening to sowing the seeds but could only really get into the title track. Haven't really bothered with much of their stuff after that aside from misc singles here and there

Can I just express my adoration for Fish Out of Water?

I can't believe how little known that song is, it's so amazing!

The Hurting and Songs From The Big Chair are awesome! I like the singles from the later albums, but nothing hits home like those first two albums.

Tears for Fears was a band I definitely remembered liking as a child due to the singles they put at the time. I think it's time to discover their work beyond that. I do love that song "Woman in Chains" from that third album.

1982 doesn't seem like that long ago jeez; it's funny I remember so clearly that you only heard "Pale Shelter" on college radio in the U.S.

*bump* Roland and Curt really are back in the studio together!

Follow Curt Smith on twitter, he gives some updates: https://twitter.com/curtsmith

What are your hopes? Personally I'm just psyched that another of my favourite bands might release new music this year! I mean, after Bowie, Depeche, Nine, Daft Punk, Beady Eye (aka as former Oasis), QOTSA and now TFF?

I really loved their last, specially Secret World and Closest Thing to Heaven.

I also really loved the albums Roland did on his own with songs like Fish Out of Water, Elemental, Raoul and the Kings of Spain, Falling Down, Sketches of Pain....

I was 4 years old as well when that song was out. Loved that tune.

Songs from the Big Chair was the first album I ever bought that was a real album (i.e. not Sesame Street Live or Star Wars story albums or anything along those lines). I was about 10 so I guess I'm older than you young punks. That album still holds up all these years later. And it's not nostalgia either because I've listened to other things I liked when I was young and... well, let's just say that I know it isn't nostalgia. Nostalgia was when I decided to listen to Def Leppard's Hysteria online and made it through about 2 songs before I had to give up.

For those not on Facebook (or if my link doesn't work), it's just a graphic with the words "Tears for Fears / Ready to Start" and a link to sign up for their new mailing list "to find out what's next." The link for the mailing list is http://bit.ly/TFFnewsletter

I'm signed up. :)
