Yo La Tengo has been one of my favorite bands for the longest time. Always write such great records and it's looking like the newest one is going to be just as great.

Anyone dig these guys as much as me? What's your favorite album? Which one got you into them?

Been getting into these guys again at just the right time. I wasn't a huge fan of Popular Songs but it had a few good ones. Summer Sun and And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out are my two favorites. Excited for this new one.

They've got such a diverse and interesting discography. I'm mostly into their noisier and shoegazier stuff myself but it's always interesting to see what they come up with.

I got into them through the Prisoners of Love compilation, which I think is an excellent career overview. Hearing "From a Motel 6", "I Heard You Looking" and "The Story of Jazz" got me hooked.

I love the variation in their albums. Really great live too, I finally got to attend a show a couple of years ago. Good night.

Really? Popular Songs is actually my lost listened to record by them....well according to my Last.Fm. I really loved the first five tracks off that album and it showed what amazing diversity they have.

Painful was the record that turned me on to them...the seven minute version of Big Day Coming totally takes me back to when I first started college and listening to them nonstop.

I saw them live in 2010 and they were fantastic, pumped to see them again virtually around the same time two years later in January.

I'll give Popular Songs another listen. It's been 2 or 3 years since I've listened.

Also forgot about I Am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass

Bump!

Their new record is one of their quietest and more reserved, but it's good!

Recent live shows have been incredible. 2 sets - one quiet and one rowdy.

Yes! Had the chance to see them on their double bill tour two years ago and it was fantastic.

I have never equated YLT with rowdy. That's a new one to me.

They're pretty noisy live! It's good stuff.

Also, they just announced a St. Louis date in September! Wohoo!
