Their new record In Our Heads is definitely the album of the year for me so far and easily their best so far. Wow.

I really enjoyed One Life Stand and Made in the Dark, but it's been a while since I listened to The Warning (and I probably listened to Coming On Strong once). I like what I've heard of the newest album, though, especially "Flutes" which, dare I say, might be one of their best songs to date. Psyched to hear the rest of the new tracks!

The video for "Night and Day" is fun, but Peter Serafinowicz may never top the genius clip for "I Feel Better."

They are back! New tune sounds like the direction I really wanted them to take after In Our Heads (i.e., the Flutes direction). New album out 5/18!

Hot Chip Announce New Album Why Make Sense?, Share "Huarache Lights" Video

After sharing a cryptic video (http://pitchfork.com/news/58364-hot-chip-tease-new-album-with-cryptic-video/) last week, Hot Chip (http://pitchfork.com/artists/2053-hot-chip/?utm_campaign=search&utm_medium=site&utm_source=search-ac) have formally announced the follow-up to 2012's In Our Heads (http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/16706-in-our-heads/) and 2013's Dark and Stormy EP (http://pitchfork.com/news/51000-listen-hot-chip-dark-stormy/). It's titled Why Make Sense?, and will be out May 18 via Domino (http://www.dominorecordco.us/) (that's the cover art, above). The new record was co-produced by the band and Mark Ralph, who also sat in on the In Our Heads sessions. The group have also shared a video for "Huarache Lights", a track which will appear on Why Make Sense?; it's a one-take visual shot by Andy Knowles and inspired by a light installation built by artistRobert Bell (http://www.robertbellfineart.com/).

As an added incentive for nabbing the album early, Hot Chip will throw in the Separate EP – a four-track EP comprised of cuts from the Why Make Sense? sessions – with all pre-orders.
Hot Chip are set to play a few festivals in the coming months, and following the album's announcement, they've expanded that trek significantly to include a longer stint stateside. Check out their updated schedule below, below the tracklistings for both the album and the EP.

I enjoy their music. Was happy I got a chance to see them live at Coachella. It was a good set.

They are AWESOME live. We got to the front during Lollapalooza a couple of years ago, had a blast. Hopefully they have more US dates.

The new album 'Why Make Sense' is excellent, their best in years.

New album is MUCH better than In Our Heads, but I still don't think it hits the high mark of Warning or One Life Stand. The closing title track of Why Make Sense? is incredible though.
