Oh, this looks terribly official. You know, when you use that word, it would imply you have a straight connection with the band and/or recording company, or even this board. Don't shit on yourselves.

I am Leviathant, and I Approve of this Message. (mostly)
Guys, I don't have time to listen to all the remixes. I haven't gotten back to undergone yet about some of the specifics, but I don't think it's worth rushing the contest... good remixes take time. And I don't know that we should limit it to the first 200 to enter, because the Tweaker remix contest had over 500 entries, and certainly some of the best ones came in at the end.
Undergone's went ahead and gone the extra mile to organize all this stuff while I've been doing other stuff and only mentioning the idea of a remix contest.
Being that I'm the one giving shit away though, I am going to dictate that I get veto power. No way some Lee Reznor mash-up is going to win. I want some quality work, damn it!
We should get at least 500 remixes, and give it another two or three weeks for submissions to come in. I appreciate people who, like me, don't have time to work 24/7 on this, and maybe only get some time on the weekend, and I want them to be able to contribute something without rushing.
Also, don't use the word Official. Here in nin land, that word means it has something to do with NIN/Interscope/Universal. The NIN Hotline is not an official webpage, really. And this contest isn't official, really.

Thank you, Leviathant.
I was really worried when I saw the new "rules" because damn, with a limit of 200 remixes (and only 30 slots left), people would feel pressured, which, in turn, would take the fun out of the remixing.
And yeah, I am aware that the contest aims at "high quality" remixes and that finding a "worthy" winner is the "ultimate goal", but I still think this whole remixing thing shouldn't be only about competition.
Many people are totally new to remixing, so crappy remixes are inevitable, but I believe that everybody should be allowed to try their hands at it and that it should be a "fun" activity/experience, all in all. And I, personally, find it nice to see that people are getting all excited about it and that they're willing to learn more about/try out all sorts of music/audio editing programmes and software - stuff many of them don't usually have anything (or much) to do with..

Production Experience: umm, i used to own the MTV Music Generator game for PS2 and made a couple crappy songs with it. i guess DJing could go here too.
Musical Experience: umm, i played guitar for a few years a long time ago. i also used to DJ a bit for a few years.
Your Nine Inch Experience: well, the 30th will be my first show, but i've been a big fan for about ten years, but took some time away during trents hiding. i have all halo's but 9 and 15, o yea, and 18 and 19. 18 is still in transit to me. also have a six of them on vinyl.
WHY?: i listen to a lot of music. thats all i do besides homework. currently in college, and working as a security guard. all i do at work is sit in the car listening to music all night. also on a high-speed connection, so downloading all the stuff is'nt a problem.

I've listened to the first 80+ remixes since yesturday, and have all of them on the site so far. I was thinking of putting a rating on each out of 20; just for fun... and try to make some kind of personal top 10 or 20 (after at least a few listens of each, of course).
If that's helpful at all, I'll post it for you as well. One thing I didn't like about the old voting system is that each person's vote was public, same with top 10 results... that would obviously get people to check out those mixes first and/or vote for songs that already had some sort of chance and/or publicity. Just my opinion though.
Anyway, if you want me to grab 10 of them to write some in-depth reviews and orders; I'm sure that could work, but I think there should be atleast 3 people reviewing the same songs to avoid bias and/or help get some clearer winners. I do want to rate them all though eventually.
Perhaps I'll send you a PM with the information required.

This is a decent idea, but there shouldn't be a limit on anything other then time. The best mixes are going to be the last ones, the worst mixes are going to be the first. As long as this has pretenses of being affiliated of the official contest, there shouldn't be a lid, especially since there's only about 20 slots left and its barely been a week since the files even got released.

Why I should be Judge
Ok, I'm going to be serious here.
Despite my somewhat pisstake before, I am really excited about this contest. Nothing excited me more than hearing new music made by people who really love what they do, and of course Nine Inch Nails falls in to that catagory. If chosen judge I can assure anyones remix that comes my way is judged in fair manner, as if it was my own. I will not judge on any personal oddities, but purely on the quality (musically, not sound of course) of the music that comes to my ears. This is why I Believe I should be judge.

welcome aboard to the 2 newest additions to the judges.
I have no doubt with these judges so far, we can expect a phenominal final 20 list.
I'm stoked.
