I don't have time to post my full review of the show, but here are a few tidbits. We drove up from Fresno right after last night's show and crashed at the Hilton (we are staying here tonight too so if there are any ETS people online that want to meet up- give a shout!).

The line for the show stretched well across the whole of the Hilton main floor and right to the main valet/check-in doors. Before the show, Leo was lurking around but never got rushed by anyone that recognized him.

The set opened up with the same WT track but from there deviated completely. 'Reptile' was played which was an awesome surprise. They fucked up 'Starfuckers, Inc.' pretty badly and Trent laughed, "This is only our second show..." The show ended at 10:30pm (same length as last night's). Also the lighting changed dramatically for a few tracks (notably 'Head Like a Hole').

The opening "band" was just as terrible as last night's performance- but at least she said her name, Kara Halloway (not sure on spelling). Her performance was more open mic situated and just did not carry well with the audience, the venue, or even the tech.

Overall, the sound at the Hilton was much better than that of Fresno. Fresno's hall was was very tight and suffered badly from decay. The Hilton hall was very wide open, spacious, and surrounded by soft walls and curtains making for a much fuller, deeper sound overall. It was still extremely fucking loud.

Unlike Fresno, there was also a pit with quite a bit of moshing and even a little crowd surfing.

Oh, and those "limited lithos" that were sold last night were available again tonight (still limited to 125 though but they were the exact same artwork). Other merch was identical as well.

incredible. IN-FUCKING-CREDIBLE!

*edit* Aaron definitely is a wild motherfucker and he's quickly surpassing Robin... but he hasn't made it into the crowd yet.

anyway, i'm sure someone else has a more defined setlist. they started around 9p and ended with HLAH @ 10:30ish. looking at the Fresno setlist, we got *edit* "Reptile", "Suck" & "No You Don't"... possibly some new songs, but i'm [with_teeth] disabled at the moment.

Closer is just amazing with "the only time/down in it?" interlude. Someone fucked up during Starfuckers, Inc. and TR let loose with grin. otherwise, the lighting effects were a lot of background colors and strobes - which definitely accents the smash & destroy nature of this tour.

i saw someone in the pit with stereo microphones, but he was getting thrashed about a little bit. hopefully his recording will turn out okay. and now i'm going to get a shower.
fuck yeah

Fresno was good, but this was another plane of existence. It was unfuckingbelieveably great.

A lot of it may have to do with where my friend & I were - just one or two people back from the barrier, in front of Jeordie.

The sound seemed much better, Trent's vocals came through well, except on TLBTB. It also seemed like he had more energy than last night, but again, maybe that was just because I had a better view.

It was pretty intense up front, a bunch of people got pulled out over the barrier; several girls looked like they were half passed out. I needed to drink about a gallon of water after the show.

I'm pretty sure the setlist posted above is correct.

It should be interesting tomorrow with no seats at all, and a college crowd...(The Hilton had a bunch of lounge type seating, with just the small pit area up front.)

yeah, this was an odd set-up for a GA show. i thought the floor area where the pit was would have been larger. now, i kinda wish i could hit the Davis show... that should just be insane.

I just wanted to say that they sound checked "The Wretched" and that they were filming everyone going into the show, and leaving at the end. Can't wait for the eventual DVD! Great energy, just wish Trent would've started in with the water throwing sooner, I was dying in there! Oh and also during "Terrible Lie" Trent was singing face to face with the front row, and actually handed the mic over to some kid who finished the song (screaming Terrible Lie over and over).

yes suckers I met trent today, i shook his hot little hand too!

so we got to the hilton around 9:45am. There were about 10 kids there in line ahead of us. Around 11am some of the kids in front of us went running really fast toward the elevators, we kind of ignored them, but I was still curious as to why they took off so quickly. Pretty soon (a good 20 mins) a chick came back showing off TRENT'S autograph to people, she said that they were getting off the elevator looking for somewhere to eat. So we went to go get the fixed CD we happened to have in the car and on the way out the doors, I see this huddled mass of black moving toward johnny rockets. it was Trent, jeordie, aaron and leo. thats when things started to seem surreal, I pulled Aaron(esoterroist) by the hand and moved toward them. leo turned around and gave us a dirty look as we approached. I moved straight over to trent, feeling light-headed and feeling like vomiting on him, I extended my hand out to Trent, couldn't speak, couldn't even begin to form a sentance. He shook my hand, then Aaron, (esoterroist) who had turned as pale as a ghost, shook his hand as well. then TRENT said, "we're trying to grab something to eat, please don't tell anyone" I told him we wanted his autograph. he said "do you have anything to write with?" (that would be helpful wouldn't it) so we ran like little school children to the car to get the fixed cd and ran back in a daze to locate them again. By this time they had taken a booth in the back of johnny rockets, we approached the booth feeling somewhat akward. I said something like "sorry for bothering you guys again....would you sign this?" I studied his face the entire time he was signing it.

After he had finished we said thank you and told them we couldn't wait to see them play and we walked away. I went back and squealed like a fucking kid. Aaron just kept saying "OH my GOD, Oh my GOD". A few of the other kids that met them, including a cute little pink-haired girl looked equally as "shocked" and as if they might faint. So we went back to standing in line, we were all standing up waiting for them to get through eating so we could see them again (we wanted more), then I remembered that I had my digital camera with me! So I got the camera out and prepared to take their picture. After about 30 mins we saw some other kids going toward the restaurant, so we headed over. They were walking out from the restaurant. After some other kids in front of us took pictures, they started to walk away. I followed camera in hand. I asked them "would you mind if I took a picture of you guys?" That Leo guy said "we really gotta get going, here you want me to take it?" I handed him the camera and he snapped me, trent and jeordie. FUCKING AMAZING.

so that was the excitement for the morning, we went back to standing in line for 9 more hours.
They let us all in around 7pm. We were right at the front of the line which started with like 10-15 kids in front of us, but it grew to like 20-30, from all the COCK-SUCKERS letting their friends, who just got there, in line. we still got front row, right in between Trent and Aaron. Close enough to see Trent's sweat beads. After the horrible opening act (which memeber of the band's dick did she suck?) was over. They started playing around 9pm. We saw Rob Sheridan with his camera filming the crowd in the beginning. and filming parts of the show. The track list:
love is not enough
march of the pigs
reptile (My absolute favorite song by them, I actually regreted not asking them to play this after I met them, BUT they did anyways, because Trent loves me.)
piggy
terrible lie (fucking awesome)
the collector
with teeth (REALLY REALLY good song, he played a little blue tamborine!)
closer
home
burn (wow)
no, you don't
even deeper
the line begins to blur (this song is REALLY amazing)
suck
wish
hurt
the hand that feeds (sounded sooooo good live, he made eye contact with me during this song, I'd like to think he recognized me)
starfuckers (Trent laughed at jeordie during this song, I think that jeordie fucked up a part or something)
head like a hole
aaron north was jumping around all crazy the whole show, he kicked the amp off the stage at the end.
no encore. After the show I kept asking this MORON security to reach up and grab me jerome's drum stick that was laying on the stage. he's like "i can't my boss is watching" WAHHHH! so we waited, then leo came by and threw it into the crowd, my tall amazing boyfriend reached up and fucking grabbed it right away from all the greedy little hands. I didn't realize that he had it until I saw his hands around it in front of me. he then yelled "don't touch it or i'll kill you with it!" it was great.

we exited the venue after begging for some guitar picks for awhile (greedy fucking fans)

Just a small correction... Jeordie is primarily the bassist and barely moves. You're thinking of Aaron North.

Great, great show.
Stood stage right on barrier.
Other reviews can cover better than I can...
so I'll leave it to them.

All I can add is my opinion. That when they played "The Hand That Feeds", to me, the song's somewhat 'direct' approach made more sense. It is a 'band' song. It was one of the best. What I mean by 'direct' approach is the song doesn't have his bizzare and dynamic sonic of his work of late. Not that the song is bad, just the opposite, it rocked!

I can add one afformation of the guitarist's craziness. Man, that guy was a tornado.

I'm still buzzing and it's 10am the next morning.

I still can't get over how well Burn works live. The way it builds up, it was just incredible.

As far as Jeordie, he was great, but very stationary. I'm used to him moving around A LOT with MM. Oh well, Aaron North more than made up for that. Wow.

This is the 5th time i've seen NIN live, and this was also the best. Truly Amazing.

y'all can 'sodomize' the opening act all ya like, but she had some chords and belted it for longer than many could've with NO BACKUP. so shut the fuck up, unless you're willing to step up. Nice shadows behind, it looked like she had horns!

and TRENT.

ah, trent.

I'm so pleased that he's still so angry. I bet his sweat is even bitter(sweet).

they blew me fucking away.

He said, "I'm playing a song that isn't mine anymore."

God what a terrific show. Trent gets better with age and I loved the new stuff.

"Can you turn some lights on so I can fucking see, please... I'm going to play a song that's not mine anymore."

What I want to know is what was that instrument he was plucking at the end of piggy before throwing it at the mic.

I believe he said "I'm gonna play a song that isn't mine anymore" I loved the way he performed the song without much accopaniment until the final chorus. The highlight for me was 'Reptile. I really enjoyed all of the old stuff, it'll take a while to get used to the new stuff (when the album comes out). Like many others, I was lucky enough to meet Trent and most of the gang (I didn't meet Aaron, but he walked past me a couple of times in the bar), but I didn't get pictures or autographs. I didn't want to hound them. I told Trent I was looking forward to the show and he said he was too.. Then I ran to my room to drop off my bag before heading down for something to eat and as I was walking out of my room, Alessandro was walking out of his across the hall and one door down from me. I ran into him 2 or 3 times in the elevator that day. I had a ton of fun and can't wait until the Vegas show!
