My thread was quoted. Actually, my thread was for humour purposes, but people took it seriously enough. Glad the people who gave retarded responses got what they deserved.

and therein lies a valuable lesson.
repeatedly locking threads doesn't keep morons from posting meaningless shit. it keeps the rest of us (whether we have something good to say or not) from posting for fear that we'll be locked. people will say what they want to say, whether you like it or not. and while you may like to think you can control it because you're a moderator, and that you can flame people for asking a simple question that they couldn't find on search (because let's face it, it doesn't work nearly as well as you like to say it does), the truth is you're only pissing people off. dozens of people join this message board every day, and they most likely won't take the time to search for an answer to their question, no matter how obvious it may seem.
my suggestion is to learn some patience. a "STFU N00B!" attitude is not the way to make this board a place for friendly and civil discussions, rather a home for snobby elitists to thrive.

After reading Meathead's observations I have come to realize that I have not taken enough time to read through ALL of the threads. If I did, I would be a much happier person knowing how much laughter I can partake from it.

Heh, you raise a good point.

I always get a kick out of reading Meathead's musings, but what was the real point of this column? Stupid people are annoying to normal people when they act stupidly? You can't say that Meathead's problem is with lyrical analysis in general (just the stupid kind), and it's not with taking an interest in one of your favorite performers (just when you do it in a stupid/obsessive sorta way.) In fact, there's really no one specific thing he's bothered by, except for the fact that some fans appear to be obsessive and/or annoying.

Sure, I find it annoying when ETS seems to be over-run by what seems to be a bunch of really enthusiastic twelve-year-olds that don't know how to turn off their 'CAPS LOCK', but hey...those annoying twelve-year olds are all someone's kid brother or sister. And some of them, ten or twenty years from now, may grow up to be music fans with much more eclectic taste due to early exposure to bands like NIN. And some of them will remain annoying morons forever, but that's not a problem with NIN fandom, that's a problem with life.

Nevertheless, really funny update.

After reading Meathead's observations I have lost my fear of posting here - obviously the worst that can happen when you write something more or less stupid is that you'll get immortalised. Kinda like Moses.
