SURPRISE!!!!

So It's been exactly a month since I put out AMMA and I've been working on this since then. This isn't for everyone, read the discription, links are at the end.

This is a much simpler project in terms of the time it took to create then my others. This is a compilation of my past three compilations. If you have A Mix Of All That Was, In This Twilight or A Million Miles Away then skip this paragraph. If not, then read on. I made "A Mix Of All That Was" back in 2001 and it is made up of one of every song that NIN played live between 1988 and 2000. I listened to about a hundred or so concert bootlegs and picked out what to me was the best/most interesting performance of each song. Because of that the sound quality wasn't always the best it could be. After I picked out all the tracks I mixed them together as best as I could to make it sound like one continuous concert. AMOATW is about 5 hours long. After NIN stopped touring at the end of 2007 I started working on "In This Twilight". ITT was made in the same manner as AMOATW but only using tracks in the time frame of 2005-2007. The runtime of that is 4 and a half hours. Then when NIN finished touring in 2008 I made "A Million Miles Away" which only consists of tracks from the 2008 Tour. The shorter runtime on that is only 3 hours and 40 minutes.

Pretty much right after I finished AMMA I made a playlist using all of my projects and started to compare the tracks between the mixes. This is where the idea for (is this really) "All That There Ever Was" came from, and ok so I like the song 1,000,000 a bit much. Eventually I picked out the best tracks, in my opinion, and started mixing. This is not a copy and paste job what so ever. All the tracks are redone and remixed using their original sources and not from my past projects. All the tracks are lossless sourced except for "The Great Below" and "The Way Out Is Through", I like these versions way too much and they only have lossy sources.

As for the mix itself, I do like how it came out. There are many transitions that I love but also some I hate (Pilgrimage into The Hand That Feeds). The runtime for this is an intense 8 hours and 26 minutes. If you have that much time to listen to this straight through, by all means go ahead, it's mixed continuously from track 1-115. Though I did group the tracks around 7 discs which clock in all over 1 hour but less than 80 minutes (Disc 7 is 79:56). Not a bad mix to listen to on random either.

I wanted to get this out before nine inch nails started touring again because making a project based on 20 years of live nine inch nails seemed like a cool idea. If I have the time again I’ll make another project for the 2009 tour, The Four Of Us Are Dying? Or something like that.

Thanks again to the guys of Nine Inch Nails and to all the tapers. Special thanks to nympholept, who supplied most of the FLAC sources for the tracks from 1988-2000.

Wow. That looks like an epic 8 hours.

So all of these are the same versions used in AMOATW, ITT and AMMA? or did you go back and use different versions for any of these?

this is friggin awesome. i love all your other mixes, and i'll definitely be getting this one as well once i get off campus (damn traffic monitoring shuts down any kind of continuous data stream that lasts more than 45 minutes or so (i.e. downloads, but also affects streaming tv shows and what not)

quick question- why are there 2 dates listed for some of the songs? did you mix them together somehow?

any chance on a re-release of a AMOATW with the FLAC sources? most of it was mp3 sourced iirc.

Wow, can't believe how fast you can work!

Thanks a bunch!

BTW, not a big thing, but line 79 says "79 Subterraneans (w/ David Bowie) 1996 10-11 Maryland Heights, MO " while the others around mention 1995 with the same date and venue, is it a mistake or did they actually play exactly 1 year later at the same place with Bowie?
