Can someone please confirm to me that the latest version of VLC will indeed play the files correctly? Because the main complaint I have (in the French subforum) is that they either get the audio only or the video without any audio.
And you all know that I know nothing about this stuff so it is like the blind leading the blind here!
If VLC will play them correcly, I will recommend it to them.
Thanks!

Solution for all the People having Trouble with the Playback using VLC :
Tools
Preferences
Input/Codecs [hit the +]
Demuxers [not the +, the actual "Demuxers" menu]
Demux module: switch from "default" to "FFmpeg demuxer"
Now Video and Audio should play just fine. Only Drawback : You can not Fast Forward anymore

drmindbender wrote:Ok, first off, I listened to a few seconds of audio from Portland, and it most definitely sounds like a soundboard.
For those who aren't familiar with him, drmindbender knows his stuff, so I believe him.

Your hard drive may be improperly set up to handle file sizes as large as 9 GB
Can't have files larger than 4 gig on a FAT32 drive. Which means if your external drive is formatted to that, and you try and download these vids, you're fucked.

"Security must have been lacking at these shows because the quality of the footage is excellent."
...is a joke.
What I mean is - the cameras were the band's, operated by the crew, and didn't actually have to pass through security as he jests. Unless I'm mistaken.
Gman3k is 100% right.
H2K wrote:Whats the best one to download?
Answer: None.
Either you want to edit them and master a DVD, or you wait for someone else to do it and download their DVD.
I'm sure there will be many many DVDs shared by different people.
Dassarri wrote:For starters, I think it'd benefit more people if someone shrunk this stuff to regular resolution and torrented each camera from each show as a regular DVD (or two, if required). This way everyone can benefit from the total amount of footage that was released by Santa, rather than the footage that some else decided to cut together - so much of video editing is personal taste.
Like Dassarri, I expect the first DVDs will be "simple" single-angle transfers. When those are released, feel free to ask "Whats the best one to download?" again

Spadowski wrote:What would be IDEAL is someone to make a multi-angle DVD or two so we can CHOOSE what angle we want to watch. That right there would solve a lot of these editing worries.
And I'm sure someone will do that too

ift is all about possibilities!

are full DVDs already available for
Sacramento and
Portland
Both of them are 2DVD - shot from the rail, Portland is slightly closer to the center.
The setlist is readily available in multiple places, here it is again for people too lazy to look:
