Maybe you misunderstood me or perhaps I wasn't clear.
Since I was aware they had previously only opened with LINE or MSD, I was at a loss when LINE began other than MSD. But, that whole theory went to hell when they just followed it right up with MSD with no curtain. I was floored.
I also saw Rob Sheridan poking around near Aaron during HLAH taking photos. Looks like they've put one up on the official site already.
I also would like to add that I rather enjoyed Saul's performance.

Yeah I did misunderstand. To me it read as if you didn't know they played Mr. Self-Destruct. I think the BAM! spooked me and threw me off.

No big deal. I'm not writing very clearly right now anyway, as it's a bit late and I'm quite tired. I should sleep.

Great show, the set list could have been better (Something I can never have, anyone?) but being in the Spiral reserved seating, I had people around me who were as into it as I was. Loved hearing Dead Souls. Yes, it wasa bunch of noobs in the audience, it's GREENVILLE. I was so happy that NIN came to play, I don't care what the hell they played. Oh, and if you want to get in with the crowd around here, it's not "dixie" it's "Freebird". The energy was not The Tabernacle, but it was a bit better than Philips Arena.

Well, being my first NIN show, I was unexplainably excited. Granted, some of you are bitching about the set being too cookie-cutter, but it was my first NIN show, and I didn't care. The crowd (especially where I was, the lower seating), was INCREDIBLY tame, like, they were just standing there. I was the only one singing in some songs.
Plus, there were way too many drunk hicks who probably only knew Closer and The Hand that Feeds. On the plus side though, there were 3 really hot girls behind me who seemed to know all the songs, that was a plus. I laughed really hard when those inbred girls up front sang during Piggy ("Aye Lawst Mai Sheet Becuz of Youuu") then seeing Trent jerk the mic back. Classic.
So yeah, amazing night overall for me.
*Hopes someone releases a bootleg of it*

I thought the show rocked, except for the lack of Fragile-era songs, but they put on a great fucking show anyway. Most of the crowd seemed into the show, but a lot of the people in the seats near me were just sitting/standing there the whole time looking bored, which I thought was pretty lame. All in all, I feel pretty broken today from screaming the whole time and dancing, plus my left ear stopped working at some point during Reptile and has yet to return to normal. Great fucking show... I can' wait for the summer tour.

I was down at the front and we had a blast! My section was women only at least 3 rows back and I was at the barricade. Trent came to our side after jumping into the crowd. He laid on my chest for awhile and then moved on. I have been to 7 NIN shows but that took the prize for me. I thought Trent was much more into the show than the last couple of times I saw him (Atlanta-Phillips, Reno). Tabernacle show was in a league all its own and thus I will not unfairly compare other shows to it.
Anyways.......NIN finally back in Charlotte in 6/06 as well as Raleigh! About damn time!
I liked the set list except the Fragile was missing. I would like to have heard some of it. They basically did most of Downward Spiral and W/ Teeth with some Broken and PHM thrown in. Good to hear Dead Souls as I have not heard that live since 1995!

ive seen a bunch of shows this tour and id say that most of them were pretty good and usually played a few songs that i wasnt expecting. last night wasnt one of those nights. had it been the only show ive been to then i suppose i wouldnt complain but trent even said during the show that he recognized the people in the front row who had seen the last few shows. im sure im not the only one who sees several shows and would like to see something other then closer done every night.

Fuck yeah! As this was my first NIN concert, I cannot compare it to any prior efforts. But it was great to hear Burn, Dead Souls, Eraser and Reptile, as well as what I've seen on the AATCHB DVD. The production values were overwhelming, as expected. It was also great to see a large cross-section of the american public represented at this event. You had your drunk rednecks looking for a place to party, sexy leather women from 1994, yer goth-stalwarts, some older gentlemen and ladies (including my 63-year-old father), and up to 4 black people! (including Saul.)
Obviously, this is probably the best concert I've ever been to, and will definitely see them again when they come to Charlotte in June (with better seats).

i drove up from orlando FL to see this show, and it was phenomenal. I wanted to hear mr self destruct, and at first thought it wasnt happening when they opened with love is not enough.
when he came down into the crowd for piggy he was right on me, and i got to sing into the mic for one verse or something, hopefully it wasnt terrible like those girls and that other dude who was country folk.
amazing show.

For this being your first nin show: It was awersome
If this was your 2nd or third then it wasn't near as good, especially if those other two or three had been in the same year because you basically saw the same damn thing everytime.
Nobody said this was the Grateful Dead. With the amount of production that goes into this show, you can bet your ass your going to see "generally" the same set of songs. They do a good job, in my opinion, of keeping it interesting and lately they have been going even further outside of the "norm" (see: LINE and MSD last night, MSD four straight shows, Deep etc). NIN are in a position where they have an obligation to play the "hits". MOST fans are not going to several shows on the tour, so you are in the minority. If they are still playing these same songs next year, you have a valid point to bitch about the setlists. I have seen them 9 times since 1994, and the Richmond VA show was quite possibly the best I've seen since my first show (I've seen them 5 times on the WT Tour). Also, it's really fucking hard to top your first NIN experience man. Once you see them, the element of surprise and mystery are greatly diminished.
Best touring band on the planet. End of fucking story (as Bill Hicks would say).

Why such spite and complaint?
I have no grievances, qualms, anything about the show itself.
The drunken stupor and high times around us was not the highlight of the event, but as a fan who loved the show for everything I was angry at the absurdity of someone altering their state and seeing a show like that. That's lost respect for NIN to be raucous and obnoxious just for the sake of doing so.
That was my first live NIN and it won't be my last but shows are shows and people are that way no matter where the venue.
I didn't enjoy the actions of some but that doesn't call for knocking the people as a whole.
Everyone saw something that was gloriously beautiful and should be content. I certainly am. Very much so...
