I'm fuzzy on the order... but it was the usual set list with a few sequence variations.
1. Pinion
2. Wish
3. Sin
........ (Reptile, Gave Up, Closer, Home, etc. etc. Love is Not Enough)
7. Hurt
8. Starfuckers Inc.
9. Head Like a Hole
I'll let all the school girls complain about big ogars in the pit and disrespectful concert goers who forced their way to the front and cover the highlights you probably care about:
1.) The venue was very cool with great sound and I managed to get a good view by the sound booth. Spoke briefly to the guys running it about a Powerbook they had hooked up via Firewire. They were very vague in explaining what it did, but suggested it played an integral part in some of the sampling and effects. (cool for those tech geeks out there to think a simple G4 powerbook and a firewire cable could virtually accent a full blown concert.)
2.) Trentism's:
a.) "Look at all the little piggies.... ALLLLLLL the piggies.."
b.) Trent jumped in the pit during Closer (of all songs)
c.) Trent after a lack luster applause: "Is that all you got?"
d.) During the interlude of 'Starfuckers' ... during the 'don't you' repetition... Trent chimes in after about 10 times.. "I can do this all fucking night!" - to which the crowd roared. This was met by a feverish chant of "Don't You!" by the fans until Trent jokingly replied "This sounds like a FUCKING rock show.
It was a great set. Lots of energy. Good crowd. Should be interesting tomorrow too.

that was my first experience seeing NIN and it was well worth it.
and yes, i will complain of the obnoxious fat kids pushing their way to the front, and bitching about it the whole time, as if they had the right to. and people smell really bad. at most shows i go to, people don't feel the need to get in each other's personal space for the sake of getting a foot closer once the opening bands are finished. but whatever. the show kicked ass, trent is amazing.
favorite performances: the day the world went away, home, even deeper, closer, and hurt (the last two aren't even my particular favorites, but the performance was amazing).

Ok, I have to drive a long way tonight so no time for a long review, but the quick version: it was fucking awesome. I heard all the songs I didn't last time (in Chicago) and the band was on. Dresden Dolls were great too. I was really close to both of them and was able to appreciate their entire act much more than last time where I was a bit far away. But, Like I said, it was awesome.

Show was fucking awsome. As Usual.
Dresden Dolls Highlights:
1) Brian took his shirt off for the majority of the set.
2) Brian took his pants off at the end of the set
3) During "Half Jack" solo Amanda started playing the intro to "Something I Can Never Have" and started to cry.
Nine Inch Nails Highlights:
1) Trent crowd surfed during "Closer"
2) Trent threw the mic out during "Suck" (and I got it sitting right here, next to me)
3) None other than Chuck Palahniuk was standing at the back left of the stage bobbin' his head to the music.
4) Trent saying "I could do this all night long" after screaming "Don't You" a billion times.
5) Trent screaming "Sounds like were at a rock show" after the crowd screamed "Don't You" a tillion times
Show fucking rocked. The staff at the venu are kinda assholes. Some are nice, but the rules and regulations are really fucked up and wierd.
Other than that, and my sunburns, had a fucking awsome time. Looking forward to 5/31'st

i'm going to be the school girl to complain about the "ogars"....this one guy kept holding on to me and saying "i got you, i got you!"...uh, no, you don't. he almost choked me with his elbow and i couldn't tell if he was doing it on purpose or not. and this other guy said "arigato" to me as i exited the pit. and i gave him a big fuck you. fucking racist pig.
Trent didn't start off with a white shirt this time. and i'm a bit disappointed becuase white looks really good on him.
i started pretty close to the front, but i didn't want to waste energy fighting to stay there, so i got pushed further and further away from the stage. and then i was around bigger guys and they kept stepping on my left foot, over and over again so i left because i didn't want to break my foot. i should've stayed. oh well. tomorrow night i'll hold out.
after "terrible lie" i was at the halfway point in the venue standing in front of the side exit. it was really nice to have cool breeze on me after that heat in the pit. and i could see the entire stage with the lights - which were just amazingly breath taking. the digital flashing dots/lights/squares made me laugh - really tacky and 80's and reminds me of the nin laser show i went to a few years ago in LA.
oh yeah, the *fucker thing. that was really funny. "dont you dont you dont you dont you dont you i could do this the whole fucking night (something to that effect) i'm glad trent was "talkative" tonight and i got to experience his humour first hand.
hopefully they play more stuff from with_teeth tomorrow night because people are less into the new material - which makes it easier for moi to stay alive in the pit. ha.
i met some really cool people while in line. we went over to in n' out after the show, and saw this guy holding a mic - yeah! he got the fucking mic! and a burger too.
i brought my tamborine and i so wanted to bring it into the venue and shake it like i mean it with trent. but i don't think they'll allow that... afterwards we wanted go over to the tour bus and bang it in front of the band, but the security wouldn't even let us near it or wait there.
i can't believe some people went camping right outside the venue as soon as they got out of the concert. that's insane!

Quote:5) Trent screaming "Sounds like were at a rock show" after the crowd screamed "Don't You" a tillion times
I think he said "You're at the wrong rock show" or something to that effect, meaning they should be addressing the chant to Manson - although I could be wrong.
Well.. I've just returned from the show and it was fucking amazing. I haven't missed a tour since '93 and this was by far the best performance I've yet to hear. The sound levels were dead on, his vocals sounded better than ever. He's got muscles now, so he doesn't feel the need to kick his band members in the ass and fuck up the songs nor does he fall out of breath skipping around on stage as with the Fragile tour. I think three songs were played from WT, the rest of the shit was an even mix from the past releases. Sin was reappropriated in a really cool way, and Terrible Lie was one of my favorite performances of the night. There wasn't really a moment I didn't enjoy. The dresden dolls kicked ass. I was the guy who said "that is definitely not a man" a little too audibly, thought not enough for the two performers to hear, before the show - because a girl I was with remakred that the singer was a queen. Anyways, the surrounding crowd laughed and thought I meant the drummer. No.

Thank God they don't let people bring in tamborines. Sheesh.
That setlist up there is missing at least "The Line Begins to Blur" and "Burn", which both fucking rocked. That version of "Burn" is so fucking cool, I can't get enough of it.
Could've used some more WT songs, as many people have been saying. Trade "TDTWWA" with "Right Where It Belongs and throw in "Only", and I'll be even more thrilled with the set. Still, it was a great setlist.
Was happy we didn't have to deal with too much moshing other than at the start, but the reason for that wasn't a mass concession to non-moshers... it was because the place was a fucking furnace! I'm guessing it was somewhere between 100 and 110 degrees in there. The Soma's A/C system is either not completely functional or completely inadequate for a crowd that size. They really need to do something about that; people will die of heat exhaustion. Buy lots of water, guys. Also, this crowd packed itself much tighter than in Vegas, so our feet were killin' us.
We were on audience-left, and started out about 25 feet from the rail, but thanks to Mr. Small Animals Crawled Up My Ass And Died Weeks Ago Farty Pants, we had to move to about 35 feet back. Still, we lucked out with a really nice angle that kept all of NIN in view.
We had a very painful, suffocating, wonderful time. As promised, they destroyed us.

Here goes the story from my LJ and other site. So excuse the fan girl writing!
San Diego Memorial Day trip
Wow. I have had the best day in my year so far. It was perfect.
I started by Johnny picking me up at 3pm to drive us to Diego. We started off shaky because Johnny sucks at driving and almost drove us into the Dairy! We then drove without traffic for about 2 hours. We stopped at a view point by Dana Point. We spent a break over looking the ocean and playing with our new friend the squirrels.
On the way to San Diego
Johnny and I looking serious

Happy friends
Oh so close!
My new friend
So we continued on our way to San Diego following the beach. We were tired and hungry so off to Coco's it was. I had breakfast and strawberry pie! (oink oink).
Me and my straw
Johnny wants his food
So then we head off to the beach to kill some time. Quite relaxing.
Me on the rocks
Looking at you
Nap time
On the sand

Bonfire
So then after some R&R on the beach we headed to the show. So we park and find that the Soma theater used to be an old movie theater And we find it at the end of a mini strip mall next to a bakery and kite store. Yeah. A fucking hole in the wall small place. The stage and venue are in the larger now stripped movie rooms. Ok so before we go there we are walking on the back side of the building since we had to park soooo far. I am about to make a right turn walking to the fence to go around the front. I look over to my left and there is a small yellow wood plank barrier. And beyond that not 10 feet away is TRENT REZNOR just chatting and shaking hands with guests. I freeze just staring at him. He looks so professional in his long black dress shirt and black pants. Hair so perfect. I can hear him talking about nothing in particular. I am so close the security guard starts looking at me. I finally tell him I will be good and he leaves me to oggle at Trent. I look over at my friend Johnny who is watching me because he knows if it was any other friend I would have bolted over the little yellow wood and koala hugged Trent! But alas Johnny is way bigger than I(you can see in the pics what I mean). As Trent went in and we continued walking I felt a surge of adrenalin rush through me. I have always put seeing Trent not just at a show on my New Years Resolution for the past 3 years. And here finally, FINALLY it happened. I was actually glad I didn't end offing myself the other day now. Look what I would have missed? The chance to see God up close and personal. (runs and skips and sings tee hee)
So in the venue I run into Ruffian,
a nailedonline member. I was just walking by and she says are you Jodee? I said yes and she said I recognized you by your tattoo of Medusa! She was soo cool! A total rocker girl who kind of reminds me of Janis Joplin. She had no make up on and was just so beautiful and laid back. Since she was alone she went to enjoy the show with Johnny and I. So skip to the show now. We are standing in the middle by the little area full of the light and computer people. It was so packed we could barely see. But I had a nice view once I stood up on my toes a bit and peered between people's heads. I kept moving slightly until I got a clear shot between them. Wow, do they look great! They played old and new songs ans honestly can't remember a God Damn thing. Except they played my Suck and Reptile and Starfuckers Inc. Most importantly they played Something I can never have. It is my favorite song and let me tell you...I completely broke down crying. I tried to hide my face and just close my eyes. It was just Trent and I alone in my head. It was the most beautiful moment I have had inside my emotions. Johnny told me later he watched me and let me have my tears. After the song was over Ruffian told me no more crying! Then Suck went on and I was in fucking lust.
Bad news? It was a fucking sauna in there! We were pouring sweat. So badly that security finally opened the side doors to let in some cool air. show over and Johnny and I drove home. Here we are.
I can die now a happy girl. I have now seen up close and personal Marilyn Manson and Trent Reznor. Make sure my tombstone mentions that ok? Thanks
This is my story. The stuff about the show is up there on other people's posts. And honestly I am too tired to remember anything else.

I went and it was good. Fucking crowd sucked. Pushing my girl onto the floor, because apparently assholes are the only people allowed to be up close. You know, if you want a good spot, then get in the fucking line early...
Show was good.
And yes, Trent did say "Sounds like a fucking rock show" not "You are at the wrong fucking rock show".

Doesnt help that the floor is as flat as a pancake, and the stage isnt raised much either.
