So yeah, last night was fun as someone on here is well aware of from talking with me last night. It turns out that I contracted a mild (well, if there is really such a thing as mild) case of food poisoning.

I don't think I've ever experienced doing BOTH (and I'll leave you to figure that one out to yourselves) at the same time before, and I never want to again. Now I'm slowly able to handle water and some orange juice! WOW, lucky me! Thank God I went food shopping before everything started to happen or else I would have been screwed and a half.

So basically, they always recommend that you back track your food intake for the day. So, I had a late lunch, 3 PM, at a local restaurant and it did involve chicken. But all the craziness started happening after I had some left over pizza from a take out place on Saturday (8 PM). Like immediately after the pizza the tummy started it's rumblings, and it was very bad. Sad

So it was very bad, but I got the day off of work because my boss is awesome and now I'm chilling out and drinking plenty of fluids and I may even try some toast soon! Oh goodie!

Yeah, the best is when you do that on your parents bed.

Yeah, that's the uber-suck. My ex-husband and I had food poisoning on our honeymoon from some chicken we bought and grilled. That was the last time I ever ate fowl. We were sick, violently so, for 48 hours and too weak to move for another 24 hours.

Take it very slow on reintroducing solid food to your stomach. I don't recommend eating an entire slice of toast, but just a corner of it. If that stays down and you feel fine after an hour, then eat a little more. Drink lots of water and feel better.

I'm home today with congestion and pain on one side of my head. Think I must've clenched my jaw extra hard during the night 'cause my night guard is nearly pierced through on one side.

Yeah, I feel so much better from last night, and I just had some toast with a little margarine on it and I'll see how my body handles that. And right now it's just juice and water, but even that I'm going easy with. As thirsty as I am, I know chugging some water or juice right now would just be way too much to handle.

Thanks for the help nothoney! I hope you get better as well.

Last night my friend called me to let me know she has pink eye. I was with her, all day, the day before yesterday.

Well, too late if I do have it. But arrrggh.

Can anyone solve this mystery for me. Whenever I have a flu and try to eat, as I chew I hear annoying noises in my right ear as if something is stuck it in. It doesnt hurt or anything but its VERY annoying!! I seem to be the only one in the family to complain about it.

I did have an ear infection when I was young, but I was wondering if anyone else must deal with this symptom...

I have that whole "pre-cold" thing going on right now: slightly scratchy throat, watery eyes, a light cough, etc. I've been popping vitamin C and taking Dayquil as a pre-emptive measure. This thing had better get lost.

Oh my, I'm sorry to hear that. It is very infectious, and will spread from one eye to the other quite easily. I know because I suffered from it in the fall of 2000. I wore sunglasses indoors for about a month.

How close was the contact with your friend? I picked mine up from my son, after wiping his poor little watery eyes.

I have lost my voice..and before that, my throat was just itchy. Now it has progressed...my eyes are buggy, and I am running a slight fever. Earler yesterday..I was just peachy.

Grr. I hate being sick!

I hope you feel better Wix!

Can a virus make you constipated? I was constipated a few weeks ago, and then I got explosive diarrhea and now I'm fine, but my Step-father and brother are complaining about being constipated, I'm not worried about it, I just think it's weird, I haven't gotten a fever or anything, is it a bug going around or something?

I know I shouldn't laugh at what you wrote, but I had a Beavis and Butthead moment with the "explosive diarrhea" comment. Smile

A virus causing constipation? Possibly. I imagine it has more to do with diet, however.

Blech. My illness has mutated and attacked more of me. I am so sick of being sick! I really don't understand WHY THE FUCK the medical profession can't do a goddamn thing about the FLU or whatever the fuck it is that I have.

I feel like Death warmed over. Sad

I have an ear infection that started off as swimmer's ear two weeks ago (I'm on a masters swim team, so I swim year round). I went back last week and it had turned into an inner ear infection, so I ended up on antibiotics. I went back today for a check up and my ear is worse and I was running a low grade fever. I've won another week's worth of a different antibiotic and no swimming for the third week in a row. Hopefully I won't win a trip to the ENT next week. Damn ear infection.

We're making progress on the Flu, believe it or not. Get a flu shot. Colds are currently only interesting to drug companies.

I DID get a fucking Flu Shot this year. That's the dark sick twisted irony of it all! I've been sick more this year since getting said shot than in any other recent years I can remember.
Sorry for the rather broken logic/grammer...but you see I have been up all night again because my doctor decided to experiement on what he was giving me instead of just giving me the goddamn cough syrup that I asked for that knocks me out for four days.
Before this sleepless night, I was doing a lot better...now my head is filling(filled) with disease...I want so much to believe...waaaa ohhhh!
Sorry. That was the fever singing.

Within the last year, I found to be about the best thing (for me) for heading off a cold. 'Super Echinacea Herbal Extract Drops' you put a bunch of drops in a bit of water & down it. It's worked better than anything I've ever tried. I take it at the first sign of a cold & I haven't gotten a full-blown cold yet. I highly recommend it.

That's my 2¢!

I'm currently suffering through the worst case of the flu I've ever had. If it weren't for the chills, the cough, and the congested sinuses, it feels like the worst hangover you could possibly imagine: I have no energy, it feels like there's a bowling ball in my head, and I have virtually no motor skills. And the worst part is that I can't sleep. The fever dreams keep waking up up every half hour or so. Last night I kept waking up with these bizarre, nonsensical thoughts going throug my head - I kept thinking that there was something important I had to do involving springs and zippers.
