Dude, there are 20-page threads on ETS discussing the improper use of "chose" in "We're In This Together."

Rob Sheridan wrote a blog classic about bad online grammar. Apostrophes in English are not "questionable."

My personal hope is that, somebody, everybody online will be able to spell "tongue." (Note: No, it's not "tounge.")

p.s. -- My original post was a tonGUE-in-cheek jab, which you are taking far too seriously. Perhaps you are protesting due to reasons that hit too close to home?

Selling fully online sounds like a good idea, but it also has serious drawbacks as well. I think Billy Corgan tried selling the final SP record online as a "fuck you" to Virgin Records a few years ago. It was very unsuccessful though and left fans frustrated.

As I understand it, Machina II wasn't sold, it was just distributed freely to fans on the internet. Fans were frustrated because it sucked.

1. I know, and why? I've seen this all over the place dating as far back as amnin. I mean, I don't honestly really care. People get really heated about it. I'm not heated at all. Observations, adding to conversation and what have you.

2. Everything, everything, everything is questionable. Especially all language and it's ever changing form.

Not in the case of apostrophes, however.

Unless you're really stupid, like Britney Spears. (And I think it's safe to assume that Trent and Prince aren't stupid.)

True.

You're right. I probably didn't try hard enough to get that album.
Point is, releasing music on his own would really hurt Trent financially. I think it's still important to him to recruit your typical dumb Linkin Park fan who hears THTF or Only and consequently buys Cd's, merchandise, attends shows, etc.

I'm not following. Are you for, or against, selling the album online?

I don't know jack about selling albums independently, and I'm legitimately interested in knowing the advantages/disadvantages to pull a move like this. So far, you've just been arguing against the very first thing you stated.

In a perfect world, I guess I would be for TR releasing his music on his own. He would get more portions of sales and wouldn't have to deal with the idiots at Interscope trying to compromise his work. That freedom might allow him to be more experimental!
Realistically speaking, however, I don't think he would do it cause of the financial risks that comes with it. Especially since he'll probably end NIN in the near future. I'm sure he wants to retire confortably!

Why is everyone talking about Nine Inch Nails like being close to end? I don't see it. Would you please explain me why? I think we'll have at least another ten years of nin. I would like to see Trent become an old rocker. Like Lou Reed or Iggy. I think he does too. Maybe not like Ozzy, though.

I'm thinking David Bowie but less glamorous and grumpier.

I know he's not in the same profession, but I wouldn't mind Trent pulling a Paul Newman:

He just opened a "theatricalized concert version" of Berlin in Australia. Bob Ezrin is back as musical director.

Julian Schnabel is directing.

In North America music and movies are typically released on Tuesdays. Europe though, I believe is Monday.

"Usually when I finish a record, I have to go into battle with the people who's job is to figure out how to sell the record. The only time that didn't happen was "with teeth". This time however I'm expecting an epic struggle. This is not a particularly friendly record and it certainly doesn't sound like anything else out there right now. Artists these days are not encouraged to experiment or take risks, and my punishment is on it's way.
Feeling physically rundown and emotionally insecure at this moment, and baffled as to why I feel the need to share this with you!"

I don't know where it comes from, but I like the honesty put forth in the quote. Makes me want to hear the new album even more!
