They had a sale on some bands they called "legendary arists".... NIN was on the legendary arists rack. I thought that was kinda cool... right up there on the shelf along with the Rolling Stones and the Beatles.
I find that kind of depressing. Especially since the only NIN cd I've seen in Target is With Teeth. Do they have others?
My ultra-lame spotting: A guy wearing a NIN shirt came into Kohl's while I was working tonight, we had a nice chat.
I got my first NIN CD's at Target in 1994 (in Iowa too): PHM, TDS & Broken
Interesting. I got my first NIN cd in '94, but at The Wall (I think). I'd say you wouldn't have to compete with (as many) shit bands for shelf space back then, so maybe that's why. And the fact that you couldn't turn around without hearing Closer, I suppose almost everyone carried NIN something.
Anyway, No NIN-spotting for me, so I'm out!
