To stay on topic, I think the last letter is an r. If you look at what is supposedly the line begins to blur, the 'r' at the end of 'blur' looks sort of like the last letter of that word.

Peoples: water flow, water pouring, cooking, movements, fires, insects, defific insurgences, animals, but mostly language. This makes extensive (and real-time) usage of Language Generator, to present an abstracted, incomprehensable, yet dynamic linguistic chatter, at various times, distances and water relation. (see Language Generator) Water: I see a microphone wrapped in a condom lying in a pool of water. a ritual, perhaps emptied of significance. populations tend to gather near water; water is the life giver, water is god's tears. Water is a burst vein of the earth. Water is you, in a state that is not yet you. Water is unmeasured spoonfuls of drowning. Water is the sleep of the sky. Water is left-over night. Water is unformed sorrow.
to let understanding stop at what cannot be understood is a high attainment. those who cannot do it will be destroyed upon the lathe of heaven.

-I found this in my profile on a computer that I dug up from 2 years ago (or something like that.) Isn't that a nice memory?

I don't know if this has been said before, but if you look at the latest updates to nin.com and the earlier ones, the text, picture thumbnails, and all are getting steadily more....dilapidated. I don't know if that's the word. The text is getting more jagged.

Perhaps the new album'll share this theme of steady descent, no? Oh, who the hell am I kidding. This is Nine Inch Nails, of course it'll be about steady descent.

Or cycles of rebirth, destruction, perseverance, destruction. . . rebirth. As explored on The Fragile.

Back after the "Lathe of Heaven" update, the site steadily descended into nothingness. Everything faded away.

Trent has said it somehow reflects the record. With titles (we think) like "The Line Begins to Blur" and "Bleedthrough". This could make sense.

The record is lo-fi and raw he's said.

Would be interesting if the record blurred in and out from lo-fidelity to brilliant clarity.

Or possibly Trent lost a lot of money and had to downgrade his computer.

I remember recently that all the buttons were screwed up, so when you clicked on Resources, It took you to Access, or something like that.

Uh.. the buttons werent screwed up, your cache was. Its your ISPs DNS servers. Mine loaded the new version of the NIN menu right away (with TDS link) and yours didnt, so you were clicking on the old menu and it wasnt really there.

I doubt Trent had to "downgrade" his computers. Look at all the lacie drives hes got.

You're believing Malm and thinking Trent was spending money on manicures and shit. If he was spending money all over the place we'd probably have more NINspottings. Manson said in some interview that hes made Trent upwards of 10mil and somebody had a thread pointing out that Trents sold more albums than Manson, so.. figure how much money he probably has made, and then remember that article where it said he probably put a million bucks into the studio? Hes not stupid, he didnt spend millions of dollars overnight like Malm is making you beleive.

I dont believe that guy because he tried to say he was there for him in his darkest hours and he paid for him in the 80s like thats supposed to defend him from the fraud and conspiracy stuff.

Shut up about Trent losing money. Hes probably losing it suing Malm/the accountant but hes got some money obviously or we'd be hearing news like "Courtney Love doesnt pay airline fares, Courtney stiffs her hotel". I doubt he's filthy rich but he can afford computers and awesome equipment and better stuff than you can.

First off, I think they were probably just speculating.

Secondly, of course he can afford better stuff, what the hell is the point of saying that? I mean, its lower than the "my dad can beat up your dad" argument because you're DEFENDING TRENT REZNOR'S FINANCES. Whether or not Malm is right (and you've obviously made up your mind, after all, how could Reznor waste money when he sings 'head like a hole'?) you are ARGUING ABOUT HOW HE SPENDS HIS MONEY.

"How dare you say he's poor! fuck you! he has lots of money you prick! He has better equipment than you do, so shutup!"

Nice.

I was looking at some of the past winners on Grammy.com and noticed something very odd. I knew that NIN won Best Metal Performance twice (for Wish and Happiness in Slavery), but can anyone explain why however, they won for Happiness in Slavery in 1995?!?! Broken had been out for 3 years, and TDS was already being remixed. Is this just a display of how antequated the Grammy Society really is, or some sort of mistake?!

The only thing I can think of is the released performanced of HIS on the Woodstock 94 album. That was recorded in 94 so who knows.

It does list the song as performed by all members of the early Self Destruct line up. I would be willing to bet that it's an award for the Woodstock show. Since thats probably their best known show.

It's just a guess, but I think it would probably be for the Woodstock '94 version of "Happiness in Slavery" that appeared on the Woodstock '94 album that came out in 1995 or so.

Why didn't you just directly quote me? I said "Shut up" and "Trent can buy better stuff than you" and you had to make shit up? What I actually said didnt strike you as funny in any way. Why is your name ObviousParadox? Why don't you sign up again as CaptainObvious?

By the way. Have nothing to go on here. But I'll bet the mix is done and the album is in the can. Leaving Trent "free" to deal with other details needing ironing before the big announcement. Including whether Interscope wants to release it in March. What will be the first single, what concept for the video will be, who will direct it. What the album art will look like and who will create it.

Lots to do before a March release to build up proper exposure.

Edit: Oh yes, here's hoping for a Rolling Stone and Spin magazine cover.

god I hope your right, odds are that there is a completed album burnt on a CD somewhere. I really wish he'd stop messing with us and post something tangible on the site RIGHT NOW!(like a ten second sample or something)and kill of all the suspense already.

Does that mean we may spam this like the "Random Stupidity" thread?

One of my relatives, during Christmas, was talking about how he went to a "David Bowie" concert and Nine Inch Nails opened. "The concert sucked, except for NIN, which was the opening." I had a fun chat with him.

my record will be released in 2005- but there is no confirmed release date as of yet. i have parted ways with 'one little indian' records and am excited about the change in direction. i will be playing drums with nin on the upcoming tour and the new band is sounding great. i'll keep you informed and please stay tuned to nin.com
