All I have to contribute is this:
NINgear needs a fucking spellcheck with the item descriptions and disclosures.
Seriously.

I think it's just NIN/TR deciding that he's not gonna need all this touring equipment so he's gonna sell it. No point having it laying around and not being used, may as well sell it and get some cash.

I'm thinking about not going to Japan, and using my monies for bidding on a very specific guitar if it goes up. IF it goes up.

If it's the guitar I'm thinking of, I'm pretty sure you're going to need upwards of 4 grand, because a looooooot of people like that guitar. Consider that the Takamine is already up to a grand, and the PRS is already at 2 grand, and they're not even that noticeably "NIN" specific instruments.

I know there's a super oldschooler who's got an original black/green Gibson with a broken neck that she was looking to sell for at least 3k - which I might put on the low end of the spectrum, given it's got a TR signature on the pick guard, and a letter from the Gibson Custom shop authenticating it. I don't know if she ended up selling it, in the end.

And if you guys are thinking about the guitar I think you're thinking about, I would dare say it would take my life's savings that I'm using to go to an art university to even bid on it, let alone win it. That's is he would actually put it up... man that would be the hardest choice I'd ever have to make.

I think we've discussed the one in question before. And I think we could go halfs on it. Work out a time share. keep it on alternating months.

I'd love to see the hell that breaks loose if one of the custom Fragility guitars went up. If I were Trent though, I'd probably be keeping all of those as display pieces.

If there were BINs, how soon would the auctions end? Day/half-hour/minute?

Depends on the price. If it was in line with what the item would cost were it just a run-of-the-mill used item, it would probably get snatched incredibly quickly. Depending on the premium that could easily be placed on the gear because of its history, though, it could take a while for someone to bite - or maybe not at all, if it's priced too high. That's a pretty open-ended question.

God, no kidding. I have a $9500 limit on one of my credit cards. It would ruin me for a while to come, but Christ...I want that guitar.
I know I won't buy it, but still. This is so flipping cool of Trent/NIN to be doing. I can't believe that guitar is up and I wonder what other awesome goodies are going to be put up for sale in the coming weeks/months. Man...he's gonna clean UP on this shit. Seriously.

I just bid $1500 on the Fragility guitar, hahaha. I laugh because I'm 110% sure I'm going to get outbid, and I probably should just increase my bid to two grand, for shits.
