For those of you who don't know what's going on, this thread is present to further continue the progress of creating a Fan DVD of the Vegas show, edited together over one audio source with varying fan angles. The original post is here.

I'm currently looking to gather as much footage as possible - so if you know someone who has footage or you have footage, please contact me. I am even looking for footage from other shows, but have limited that search down to very good quality HD - to provide better shots of the show that don't have to sync with the audio too much.

Original message:

"Anyways - Vegas....

Great. Fucking. Show.

I'm emotionally drained right now and can't believe most of what happened in front of my eyes (best first concert ever).

Anyways, it's time to collect footage from the show. Security was a breeze getting in, but it seems some people were shut down for taping while other people ran out of battery. I have heard from at least 4 different people that they were able to film the whole show, which is awesome. Hopefully, there is enough of a variance in angle shots for it to mesh well.

If you have it on tape - please post a comment here, so I can keep a log of what is going on. Also - benching on the fact that we do have enough footage - we should move on with assigning other jobs for other parts of the DVD. More will be announced on that soon. "

Please use this thread as a way to collect and organize sources for video from the show... and possible updates from me on progress.

My latest update on this project was posted here.

To suggest/vote for a DVD Title, please go here.

To add potential DVD Art and discuss it, please go here.

To add DVD Art to NINart, go here..

UNDER CONSTRUCTION: Voting and thread consolidation will be here by the end of the year.

Thanks!

Keep in mind that you can still [b]join the facebook group
here for regular (maybe not as regular as ETS) updates.

Congrats! Glad to hear that you had a great time AND were successful! Very Happy I for one, can't wait to see/hear some of this footage.

I'll see what I can do as need arises during this part of the process.

I would say I have about 3/4 of the show. I was told to stop recording early on so I went to a new spot. I moved a couple more times to remain inconspicuous and to find good angles where people's heads weren't in the way.

It's all full stage shots, and since I don't have the best camera ever, the quality isn't great but hopefully it will be helpful.

Don't you guys think sometime the footage that doesn't have a really good quality might work for songs like Survivalism? If you use it right and edit it well maybe it'd look pretty cool.

It's 7 a.m. in Las Vegas, I believe. And considering that most of them would've been partying 'til the wee small hours, I think we can give them some leeway.

Dammit why is it that every time I plan on contributing something somebody comes along and does it better than I ever could?

Only thing I suppose I'd suggest is finding and getting the Resea font because it's the other font used on the tour posts and such-you can see it in my own lame attempts at putting together artwork, this is for the CD version:

Front - Over Vegas
Front - Waving Goodbye Over Vegas

Back - Over Vegas
Back - Waving Goodbye Over Vegas

DVD Sleeve - Over Vegas

Haven't taken the time to put together the "Waving Goodbye" variation for the full sleeve yet-might wait until I get feedback on this stuff first.

I worked late into the night last night while the show itself was going on many miles away from me.

With the news about Alessandro, "Waving Goodbye" seems somewhat more fitting than before-although I almost feel like I jinxed the whole thing with the original suggestion. Sad

I got 32 minutes (in HD!) from far right balcony - Gave Up to half way through The Warning. It's really good and "almost" stationary - I leaned it on the rail to steady it - TGD looks amazing :)

I also did scan shot of the audience just before The Bug came on (I kinda liked them, heh heh).

Call me when you're awake and we can meet up and I'll give you a copy :)

Oh, and I have a couple of songs in low quality format from my shitty camera. All good though :)

i recorded about 1 hour. my job was to film JMJ but I could not. I was on robins side and because of the fog i was not able to get a clear shot. So i focused on robin and Trent.

oh the guy in front of me had a big head block some of the view fro the camera. I will be in Vegas til monday

Just coz your stuff is simple doesn't mean it sucks. Your stuff looks sweet, the only suggestion I could possibly make (besides picking up the right font) is to cut off the part of the ground on the front of the dvd sleeve earlier so it just ends at the right of the spine and you cant see it at all on the back.

Other than that, awesome stuff, it'd go well with my menu's if we end up using them.

Are you going to be looking for photos of the band for inside liner notes/artwork? Let me know, I got quite a bit of good photos.

Thank you for your comments. I will consider using the Resea font in my designs. However, your covers aren't bad at all, and, as sa_nick said above, they fit well with the menus he made.

I made some updates in my art, if you're interested.

And no, I don't think you jinxed the whole "Alessandro leaving NIN" thing. It was bound to happen sometime.

I had zero luck with getting footage. We were four rows behind the pit and security had their eyes on me during my Qik stream for The Bug. Someone around us was filming but guys in black suits with headphones or earpieces made them stop and threatened to take their cameras away. Sorry!

Aight, I got most the entire show in HD. Missed a bit of Piggy cause some douche behind me thought it'd be funny to shine a flashlight on me. Regrettably, the conditions weren't optimal for filming since I had to stand the entire time, video can be kinda shaky once in awhile. Also there was this "little pee pee big man syndrome" fuck in front of me with shite spiky hair that wouldn't move over, even when asked politely so his big ass cranium managed to make quite a few appearances. :/

I haven't watched the footage yet, but I think it's gonna look pretty nice all the same.

And was that not the shit when Alessandro threw the keyboard into the audience?!

I had my cam resting on the rail, but the vibrations kept making the cam shut down to protect the hard drive. So I brought out the monopod, but because I was so exposed being front-row balcony, security saw me and shut me down. (By moving up against the balcony rail that meant there wasn't a row of people behind us to help hide the LCD screen; plus the security woman working the aisle directly below me could see the cam.) Soooo... I have Head Down. Bummer. Glad to hear others had better luck, though!

I was so worried about just getting the camera in to film, I never even thought about how difficult it would be to actually film. I was in the first row of the balcony to, which I thought would be perfect. But when the show started and no one up there was even standing up I knew I was screwed so I moved to another spot.

Not shaking the camera and not getting peoples heads in the way proved to be a problem. By the end of the show I had finally found a good spot where this was less of an issue to that last few songs are pretty decent from far away.

I think the important thing to remember is this obviously not going to be Beside You In Time Part II. But once it's edited together, and the fact that it's all shot by fans, I think in the end will make it pretty cool.
