(me with troyhasfallen (didn't want my photo up here but he insisted))

The envelope was between a rung on the bottom of the water tower. It was the same one in the photo on nin.com.

We are so fucking excited right now you guys don't even know

Ah, right, they're numbered - i had forgotten.

I take back what i said about them thinking this up on the 17th.
They must have ordered them a while ago, but they only got a hold of them on the 17th.
Perhaps that's even why Trent stayed behind in Houston for the night - waiting on the courier.

</pointless speculation>

I vote that the thread be renamed to include the official "points on the earth" name.

edit: the postcards say: "points on the earth : north america 2008"
I don't really care how the thread is named - i believe i was the first person to refer to the whole thing as a treasure hunt, so i felt i should probably say something.

VVV other tour logos look like that also

Do all the postcards have the same visual on them? Or are they all the same with just a different number? Funny how they connected the three "lights" on the postcard.

Anyway, congrats. Sadly, I don't think this hunt will continue into the winter when they come through here.

Edit: Looks like they all have the same visual. Thanks, nympholept for the explanation.

What do you want? I can rename the thread if you want. I have been updating the sub title and first post as ? are discovered. I guess I don't know what you mean by "points on the earth". Let me know.

Edit: Never mind I see what you are talking about. If it's that big a deal i'll do it.

Story time:

I had just gotten home from realizing I don't have to work today. I wasn't at my house for more than 5 minutes when theartofdecay calls and says there was a "?" right outside of Elmore on the Ohio turnpike at the rest stop where the pic was taken. We live not even 20 minutes away, so I hopped in my car, picked her up, decided on a route, and continued to break the speed limit to the point that could be considered "wreckless operation". Very Happy

We pulled up to the rest stop at 55 mph when I was only supposed to be going 25 down it. Oh well!!!! We pulled up near the water tower and jumped out while my car was still running and I stalled it. OH WELL!!!!Very Happy

We searched the water tower and didnt even see it the first time. So I asked some people nearby people if they saw anything large that might look like it be hiding something. They said no and I told them we were on a sort of "treasure hunt" for a special prize from our favorite band. They said "Hey, go look in that field. Maybe they hid it there." So I ran over there and tore through so much high grass and debris yet found nothing. My phone started ringing and it was theartofdecay saying "WE FUCKING HAVE IT!!!!" So I ran back there the entire time screaming my head off and jumping for joy (literally.)

This is just so overwhelming right now, you guys. Very Happy

edit: and we did leave a note saying when we got and who(we left our ETS account names). Maybe someone will post it.

How cool! Congrats!

I'm hoping that when they travel from NJ to Philly they take the route past me. I'm off all day Friday, so I'm down for a treasure hunt!

EDIT: After reading the story, it's even cooler! Smile

What an exciting story! I would be screaming and giggling my fucking head off if I was there, too - it's just the thing to do when you find something like that. Razz

Congrats again, I am seriously jealous because I'm totally curious about this "gift" at the end of the tour.
