^^^^ That definitely sucks ($20, cops, missing it by 5 minutes), but good for you for trying.

I guess the cops will break the bad news to her.

Yes, the cops got us too but he was nice.

I have a video though. Met someone else from ETS, didn't think to ask her name...

Christopheratoma- that someone was me and the three people who got there before me. Why'd you take the note down? >_< We all were out there for like, 45 minutes still looking for it.

Anyway, it was fun.

So where was it, and WHAT was it?

BTW- don't climb hills that are filled with stinging nettle plants. OUCH. OW. Haha.

we climbed around on the hills too before we found the tiny building. i'm pretty positive you must have been pulling in as we left. a black car with 3 or 4 people came tearing around the corner as we left dejected.

as far as the note goes, i didnt take it down. my friend i had with me found it first, basically yelled "goddamn it" and crumpled it up in his pocket. we didnt have a logical thought about it until halfway back to cleveland.

then we had stale cheeseburgers from mcdonalds. brilliant night.

I'd be calling the dude a fucker too, if I were him.
That or punched him in the face and stolen the damn thing.

heh, how do you like my ghetto google map Razz

I drove up from Cleveland about as soon as I saw the "?" go up, I had set up a program to refresh the kml and send me a text as soon as it went live. The building was pretty obvious, about 5' square, 8' tall, right at the railroad crossing. We saw 3killa's car as we turned onto the road and he and his gf were already by the shed.

He told me they hadn't found anything and were looking around the overgrown underbrush behind it, I spent a few minutes looking around and underneath and didn't see anything. I managed to climb on top of it (being mindful of the St. Louis "?") but no luck there. We both wondering if maybe it had already been taken.

I was nearly ready to go try the 'other' location (if you look in the kml directly there's actually two slightly different sets of coords, the other ones were down the cross road a short ways), giving a good last look around (scratching my legs up a bit in the weeds). I contemplated crawling underneath the shed to check out a bit of torn paper in the very middle, but I was pretty sure that was it...

Finally on the last check around I noticed it, not very far from the edge at all, underneath the shed in the side along the road, in some tallish grass. I think it might have been originally under a piece of plastic board or something that was next to it. I'm not really sure how I missed it the first time, I was expecting something in a plastic back like the first one in Texas (from what I read), but when I saw the "?" written on the front, I knew I had it.

It's the just like the other ones: signed postcard numbed "003", on the other side "LIGHTS IN THE SKY", "points on the earth: north america 2008", along with a letter, Congrats, limited edition signed by Trent, email us and we'll send you a gift after the tour. I will bring it to work with me and post a good scan tomorrow.

Sorry it didn't work out 3killa Sad

Nope, the black car with the 3 people was the girls we found when we got there 10 or 15 minutes later. Then after we had all been there for a good nother 20 minutes, two more people came straggling up on foot.

I'm uploading the video of the location right now, just in case anyone wanted to know where it was. It's currently processing on youtube, I'll post the link when it's done.

We saw the building first thing, but we didn't know of "steel outhouse" meant IN the outhouse or just "in the vicinity of the outhouse". We looked everywhere! Well, not complaining really, it was fun Smile Like I said I met another girl from ETS, forgot to ask her name but I'm sure she'll be on here- she drove in from Cleveland, I'm only in Amherst and my friend and I sped there in about 12 minutes flat.

There's always toledo! I'm spending the night there so I have a good shot at that one if I watch Google earth like a hawk.

EDIT: DAMN, it WAS under that board!! That's the first thing I looked under! Congrats man Smile

Yes that was me! The one who thought the snake was cute, hehe. Did you guys escape without being talked to by the cops? He let us go but he was like "This is the third time we've been called out here tonight! What's it for?" I told him and he was like "What's nine inch nails...?"

Yeah my girlfriend was already in the car and the cops were closer to the other car by the tracks at that point. We just drove out opposite of that direction. It's funny when someone joked about the cops up on the hill I was already considering running into the bushes. Smile

Apologies for the crappy cell phone pic, doesn't do very well in the dark (forgot to bring my real camera)...

Oh, and I must thank my generous girlfriend for driving me all the way up (even if she doesn't really like NIN). I am very lucky...

My video turned out not so good due to it being... uh, dark. but here it is anyway, for shits and giggles, hah. I was pointing at the "steel outhouse", you'll have to trust me on that.
