30 Christmas Cards: DONE!!!
*jealous**
As paradoxical as this can be, being home alone can sometimes cheer me up. I just like to have the time to relax while doing my own thing and having some peace and quiet.
I smell pizza!
Got to shoot the shit with Dave Navarro on his radio show via Skype (it's archived here, starting at 1:11:11).
Getting caught up on my office email, despite how pointless and non-productive a task it really is.
PS: oh and Ingrid Michaelson music playing, always cheers me up.
Hearing 'I love you' from my brother.
So, there's a new political party/presidential candidate moving into my office building. It's pretty awesome, as they're gearing towards the Occupy movement and all that. I just came in after power walking in the freezing cold, nose running and redfaced, and had to interrupt his photoshoot right next to the bathrooms to get to the loo... oy vey.
I wanted this video to just be a link but uh, I can't get that to happen.
My 6 year old being overly amused by getting new socks for Christmas. He put them on and slid all over the floor, like they were some magical toys. These were practical things picked up for us by a charity organization. This way I was able to focus on getting my 2 boys some of the fun stuff, instead of worrying about essentials, for once. That made me feel so grateful, too, by itself, but to see my youngest actually appreciate them, too, was even better. (My nearly 12 year old? Not so impressed by bedsheets and shoes. Heh.)
Delivering packages late at night, and people saying "Thank you so much, you're the best!". Not much, but it's nice to hear when we're out working late.
Said goodbye to some "friends" (read- ex-coworkers) in my life that I've never liked, & never respected. I felt I had to put up w/the two-faced bullshit in order to ensure I was maintaining a strong professional & social "network" & blahblahblahblather... Well, fuck that shit in the ass! I haven't felt this certain & positive about a decision in a long time, & I have more respect for myself for calling a halt to the bullshit. Damn, it feels good to be a gangsta!
Last night, as I read a bit of my journal from 4 years ago (new-ish NIN fan, freaking out over school work), and made a short list of awesome shit that probably (more or less) will have happened before another 4 years pass. 8)
The husband - he and daughter went shopping, so they plan to meet in TJ Maxx. He goes to TJ Maxx - walks around for 20 minutes, looks at stuff. Thinks, 'wow, the quality sure has gone down, esp in the shoe section'. Calls daughter - 'where are you'?'. Her - 'I'm near the registers'. He - 'I'm at register too'. Looks around. Sees Family Dollar sign above registers.
Gawww damn. I missed me some ETS. Super stoked this community is back and all together.
Diet soda that actually tastes good. For example, right now I am drinking a Diet A&W Cream Soda that is EXTREMELY cold and God DAMN is it awesome.
Chef Geoffrey Zakarian winning Iron Chef America cheers me like crazy, I adore him, he is so awesome.
Went to play soccer with a group of 4 friends. The grass was covered in frost, but the Sun was shining and you could see a wall of mountains on the horizon. I'm so out of shape it isn't even funny. My friend was regularly going to the ground and taking a knee. I was shambling around clutching the side of my chest. Either my lungs are too small or my heart is too small, because the body was not willing. Fun times though.
Spent the day hanging out with family and am spending tonight watching TV shows and a movie. Not a bad Christmas.
White chocolate...so damn good.
Not teaching aerobic class since Saturday morning until Tuesday afternoon.
And... new windows in my bedroom that are big. Looking out the window is like seeing a live painting of trees every day now instead of living in a cave. I may wear black but I don't want to look at a black room.
The Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2011...can't wait to watch it.
Dogs. Big ones, small ones, fat ones, skinny ones, 3 legged ones, smelly old half dead ones.......dogs just make me smile.
Plumbers are coming tomorrow! I'm gonna have water again!
