Krist is one of those people who is just dumb. Can't help it. He got real lucky that he was Kurt's buddy. I saw his current band open for Foo Fighters & they were absolutely terrible. Friend I was with said it was like if the Manson family tried to put out records rather than murder people.

Did this guy seriously not learn anything from all of those years spent with Kurt Cobain?

Novoselic recounted how he “drove from Wahkiakum to Seattle and back today
I used to have family-in-law in Wahkiakum and he played the Wahkiakum County Fair with his band once. Not many people showed for it. Anyway, I did not know that was a place for him, though he is noted on the wiki page. Of course it's not like I'm consistently searching out the wiki articles for counties I no longer visit. I remember when we went to a cousin's graduation to see the graduating class of...I want to say 8?...but less than ten students. All but one said "I got a scholarship to all these other colleges but I'm going to the one just down the road in Longview because I don't want to leave my family" and they were all proud of the fact they had all these scholarship monies available to them that they weren't going to use.

The one who left was the cousin. He joined the Navy and he's a medic on a ship somewhere full of seamen.

Spoiler: you know I wrote it like that on purpose.

I'm not upset or surprised by what Krist said. He's a very weird politics guy and can carry some very unique opinions. He's a very progressive dude to the point where it can get weird and you'll get things like this. He's always been this way. Seems to me like it's just him making observations and not declaring anything about his real views.

He probably shouldn't have said anything at all. Just posting this was pretty tone deaf of him. The stupid headline doesn't do any favors either.

I hope he fucking loses. What an idiot.

"Nirvana Baby Suing Band for Nevermind Album Cover"

"He also alleges the nude image constitutes child pornography."

"However, Elden's lawyer, Robert Y. Lewis, argues that the inclusion of the dollar bill (which was superimposed after the photograph was taken) makes the minor seem "like a sex worker"."

He has recreated the Nevermind cover several times, and now it's an issue?

It's an issue because his rent is due.

yeah you can't trade on your image for years and then sue over said image.

I mean you can, it's 'murica, but you won't win.

side note: the local record shop has a sealed first pressing of the unplugged vinyl on the wall. Only $300.

Meanwhile here he is milking it...

“I said to the photographer, ‘Let’s do it naked.’ But he thought that would be weird, so I wore my swim shorts."

“The anniversary means something to me. It’s strange that I did this for five minutes when I was 4 months old and it became this really iconic image,” he said.

“It’s cool but weird to be part of something so important that I don’t even remember,” said Elden, who prefers the punk band The Clash over Nirvana.

“In a 2016 interview with GQ Australia, Elden said his stance on the photograph changed after he reached out to Nirvana to see if the band would participate in an art show he was putting on.
“’I was asking if they wanted to put a piece of art in the fucking thing,’ he said. ‘I was getting referred to their managers and their lawyers. Why am I still on their cover if I’m not that big of a deal?'”

that quote...I mean at this point if I were Nirvana LLC what I would do is change the cover on all streaming platforms and release a version that is just the dollar bill.

hell, burn it all down and recall any copy that's out for sale for destruction. salt the Earth on this guy.

There was a bit in another article I read about inducing a gag reflex in him … and that’s what really struck me as something other than just a weird desperate grab

Here it is directly from the court documents- point 74: https://www.courthousenews.com/wp-co...na-lawsuit.pdf

The question I’ve always had about this is “who in hell places their infant under water?” 4 month old babies don’t know how to hold their breath.

...honest question: do you think they breathe while in the womb and are surrounded by amniotic fluid?

Dude... what? What the fuck do you think babies are doing inside of their mothers for 9 months? Do you think they're just chilling in an empty room... or what?
