As a side-note, the Coil remix of Rush is good.

Father John Misty's Fear Fun arrived yesterday. Gave it a quick spin while we ate tonight, think I need to give it a more focused listen. No plans this weekend so will be playing lots of records!

Mine should arrive by the weekend. How is the sound quality of this?

And did you ever get your United Nations LP issue sorted out?

I got screwed today on discogs -I bought a dead can dance boxset and I added it to my cart and was waiting for the invoice, but supposedly another was asking the seller for a lower price, which they found an agreement . 10 minutes later I received an email saying it's no longer available. I don't understand because I added to cart before the other guy, shouldn't I get the record? If I give him negative feedback does the seller have an option to give me negative feedback too ?

it sounds FANTASTIC. even better than the CD remaster that came out a few years ago.

TRL sent me a replacement record (just the record) but it had the same issue. not sure what's up with that, but i haven't wanted to bug them again about it. it's such a weird issue that i have NEVER heard on any record i've listened to, so i'm not sure what else to do.

yes, the seller can give you negative buyer feedback, unfortunately. what he did was definitely out of line, though. i've had almost the same thing happen before. : /

what box set were you trying to buy?

Is Mezzanine not available from Amazon in the states?! It's still listed on UK Amazon for £24.99... 😐

ah, gotcha. yeah those are fine box sets but i felt like the prices for them were always quite big compared to just buying the albums individually, and i didn't care about the peel session stuff that much, so i just ended up buying all the albums separately.

there's a lot of stuff that's about to come out and i want to pre-order or has recently come out but i'm trying so hard not to spend money like i have been.

things i want but might not get any time soon:
    the new deafheaven album
the new the dear hunter album
    the new lower EP
    the new dead weather album

no, i'm sorry. i had been looking on discogs, as well, and like i said, i ended up just getting all of the DCD albums individually (but mostly from one seller). i think when the box set(s) originally came out, they sold like proverbial hotcakes.

I received two records in the mail this week from Music On Vinyl. For what looks like a genius business model on paper -- re-releasing hard to find or never before available on LP albums on vinyl -- they sure do a great job of completely fucking up the entire process. Both albums I received, it's obvious that the artwork is a shitty, lo-res scan of the original album art. If you're going to go through that much trouble to license these albums for reproduction, why would you spare such great expense on one of the major drawing factors of a vinyl record to begin with? You're telling me a high-res reproduction of the album art was just too much legwork, at that point? Especially when these albums go for an average of $50 a pop

Not to mention a few people here have verified that MOV readily admits to using digital files as their audio source for many of the LPs they reproduce, making it essentially a CD on a vinyl record.

It blows even more ass when you take into account that MOV is the only way we're likely to ever see a vinyl pressing of things like the Velvet Goldmine soundtrack or other non-LP releases fans have been screaming for for decades.

I really only buy the "first time ever on vinyl" releases by them. Otherwise, there's really no point, right?
