    The Lovers.

edit: I don't think this song particularly translates well into a live setting.

Another odd choice for a festival crowd.

Play a banger like "Not Anymore" or "The Idea of You"
I'm begging to hear a live version of The idea of you. That song would be amazing live.

I have a feeling it's going to join the ranks of The Perfect Drug, Sunspots, AATCHB and Demon Seed and never see the light of day ever.

Agreed about The Lovers being the weakest track. Also agreed that The Idea of You would CRUSH it live.

it's indeed an odd choice for a festival crowd. and I wish dear world, could be the opener. And never mind with demon seed never seeing the light of day. He might play it on the 2021 tour for a crowd with less than 1000 people on it. Like the only time it will ever be played.

The Lovers is my fave track on the EP and This Isn't The Place is the weakest. FIGHT ME.

That being said, I could live with just hearing it once live and then having it replaced. I'm all for a Idea of You/MotP permanent pairing on the setlist.

There are known rehearsals of at least 3 of those 4 songs. Which really sucks. Not sure if Demon Seed was ever rehearsed, but it's puts a hole in my heart knowing AATCHB and TBD were both rehearsed and never played.

Honestly, I enjoy The Lovers as a song. I don't care for how he uses the tape player to play the vocals for the verses though.

This isn't the place is FANTASTIC!!!

Just the slow build up sends a shiver down your spine. It makes you very uncomfortable and gives off an eerie vibe, but once TR sings.... fuck, a whole new level of shivers get sent down your spine. That is some of the best vocal work I have ever heard from him. You can hear in his voice he is in pain. he is trembling, it's fantastic!

Probably, if I were to guess.

If i'm not mistaken, DS was rehearsed for wave goodbye.

It's one way of avoiding having to remember that wall of text he wrote for lyrics. I'm convinced he uses the megaphone on Burning Bright as well for similar reasons. He can just mumble his way through the verses.

That's a strange feeling to have this early. They're only playing the 2nd (!!!) show and already talked about proper 2018 tour, so hold your horses.

According to the official setilist, no Survivalism and instead they're playing She's Gone Away and Somewhat Damaged before Hurt.

True. He'd probably do the verses of Dear World like that as well.

    Only about 30 mins left.
I think it's safe to say there will be no more surprises.

Business as usual for the last 30 mins.

Sadly, it's too real... TIOY would be a killer even at a festival show and Trent wouldn't have to murder her vocal chords, he could just leave all the yelling to the others.

DS was not rehearsed, but before 2009 tour kicked off in Australia, some music website posted an interview with Ilan which contained a video of him playing the drum part of DS (he commented that he just learned the song on his own to impress Trent). The video and interview have since been hidden behind the paywall (subscription needed to view), so expect to links.

Also, I'm pretty sure AATCHB 2009 thing was just a rumor.

Then I better turn that stream back on!

Would be an amazing twist ending if they did this.
