There will never be another rapper like Pac. He was able to combine all aspects of rap music together and make it work.

She can rap for sure. One of the better female rappers I've heard in a long time (I hate pointing out she's a female but they stand out in a very male dominant genre). Hopefully she inspires more women to start rapping, or if they already are, to really keep going against all odds.
fiyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
When Madvillainy (and most of the essential MF Doom) came out, I was borderline homeless and damn sure didn't have internet or any of that cool shit, so I totally missed it.
And now that I'm getting into those records, they just utterly blow my fucking mind. They are incredible in ways I never even imagined. He's like an evil genius.
Doom is one of the greatest lyricists in the rap game, no doubt.
"Couldn't find a pen, had to think of a new trick,
this one he wrote in cold blood with a toothpick."
Yeah, the motherfucker has whole bars that rhyme.
Also the rhythm of it I guess you would say? I'm not even sure how to describe it, but I'm talking about the way the flow kind of "dances" around the beat and bars start earlier or later than it seems like they're supposed to and like run longer than you would expect- it's nuts.
Thank you. Yeah, JESUS, it's fucking bad ass.
HAHAHAHAH
Conformation of your worst fears ever since his first years had a thirst for beers
Also, how bout this line from books of war:
Stop kiddin, middle men need ritalin
Hit me with the full tin of gin and i'm a kid again
The only rap music I can listen to is Eminem. I like Not Afraid and that song Monster he does with Rihanna.
new A$AP Ferg produced by Premo! Banger!
Black Thought came up to my station the other day and absolutely murdered the mic for ten minutes straight. Criminally underrated MC who has never risen to the level he should be at. This was trending #1 on twitter for most of Thursday I believe:

Jesus, this Black Thought freestyle pretty much murders every rap that's out there right now.
Blach Thought > Eminem.
Here's another example of his skills (skip to 2:15 for his verse):
Speaking of Pharoahe Monch, his verse on this song (2:00) always comes to mind when speaking about the greatest verses ever recorded:
Drake has paid tribute to the rapper Smoke Dawg, his former tour mate, who was murdered in Toronto on Canada Day.

I love Drake. Don't give a fuck what anyone says. Scorpion is a great album.
Take Care by Drake is one of my favorite albums of the last 10 years, but I do understand some of his criticism. I like the new album, but I'm not sure if I love it. I feel like I like Side B more since its has more interesting production.
There are some good moments on the album like the opening song, Talk Up, Nice For What, March 14, Emotionless
Sometime it feels like the album takes a dip with some of the ballads and I often like when Drake does rnb music. I think the album could've been edited down to make something great. There's too much, which has always been a problem with his albums.
I agree they could have trimmed the fat and made a 1 disc classic, but after 3 listens I dig it for what it is a lot. Standouts for me are Nonstop, Mob Ties, Sandra's Rose, Nice For What, and Ratchet Happy Birthday.
Any Prof fans in here?
In honor of Aretha.
Since Kill Shot was a big thing this past week (both in the Eminem thread and Internet), list your favorite/best diss songs:
1) 2Pac’s Hit ‘Em Up (nothing else to say here- the diss is great and love the beat. The shit-talking in this one is phenomenal)
2) Ice Cube’s No Vasoline (tells it like it is/how he feels, and a good reminder of how he’s one of the best ever)
— pretty much everything else—
Eminems “Girls” on The D12 album is really fucking good too. Reminder to myself to revisit the Jay-Z and Nas thing.
Off the top of my head:
Nas - Ether (Can't have a diss track list w/o this classic)
Canibus - 2nd Round KO (Best punch lines for its time)
2Pac - Against All Odds (Underrated Diss track)
Westside Connection - Cross 'Em Out and Put a 'K (Don't piss off Ice Cube!)
Westside Connection - King of the Hill (Ditto!)
Common - The Bitch in Yoo (But if you are gonna respond to Ice Cube, this is how it's done!)
Nas - Destroy and Rebuild
JayZ - Blueprint 2 (actually a really good response to Nas' Ether calling out alot of obvious hypocrisy)
Biggie - Kick In The Door
Rae and Ghost - Shark N****s (not exactly a diss track but it kind of is)
MF Doom is great. The record he did with Czarface is worthwhile to listen to.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Viktor Vaughn - Vaudeville Villain is the greatest hip-hop album of all time. @elevenism knows whats up.
Yeah man DOOM is just...man. He's on another level. He really, really is.
Hey dude, and get this: I realized that his bastard lyrical offspring is Earl Sweatshirt.
Hearing them side by side in this track made me notice it.
Edit: while I'm here: the name is ODB and I'll beat your ass.
