I think the only thing that bums me out about not getting an official CD version is that I still collect all of the Halos in CD form when possible. I mean, who knows what the "physical version" is...but I do like the fact that I have everything NIN in a CD form. They're really the only group I do that for. Thankfully, everything is being re-released on vinyl so I'll have the chance to start that up now finally.
Just had a friend buy it from nin.com and the email he got was the same one we all got when we 1st bought it. The download link is just to an image.
Yeah, I got the same multiple e-mails with the same exact links. Odd; guess it was just a glitch.
bruh, new nin... i like it. still want a trent piano album
Yeah, I don't think this is too far a departure for him, overall - most of the elements of these tracks have been present in his past work, though they've certainly been arranged into a very compelling and unique whole. It does feel like the most densely-layered thing we've gotten in awhile.
So I'm wondering if there's any connection between Burning Bright and We Fade Away on Welcome Oblivion. Aside from the references to breathing, they also essentially share the same last line: "I can't (seem) to tell if I am dreaming anymore".
I really like this album. It's heavy. Sounds good loud. Kinda weird. Not very friendly. Exactly what I was hoping for.
I wish I would have ordered 1 flac and 1 mp3. Not sure why I chose flac for both my downloads. If someone has an mp3 link and wants a flac, maybe we can swap. Let me know.Fulfilled, thanks!
And I am having the same download counter problem others have described. Those clicks I made on both links prior to release, when I got the black rectangle, seem to have counted as downloads. Doesn't matter too much but hopefully they'll reset them tomorrow. Doesn't seem fair.

I would argue that this is the most unaccesable NIN record ever (not including remix albums or Ghosts). I absolutely love it.
Only thing I do miss though are those awesome bridges and outros Trent usually does. Which on the other hand maybe adds to the freshness of this album, so ...
Don't wanna complain, this thing is frickin' amazing!
Dear World beat sounds a lot like Fur Lined
She's Gone Away sounds a lot like Faith Collapsing by Ministry.
In a good way, on both accounts
And dude, that vocal delivery on Branches/Bones is absolutely insane:
"Cold and black and infinite with nothing left to lose" — that last drop on "lose" could turn a straight man gay. I'm a straight man and I feel a little more gay now.
The Idea of You is my early favorite track.
I just purchased the digital version and physical component. This has to be one of the best NIN works I've heard!
To anyone having download issues, I highly recommend reaching out to Firebrand Live on Twitter. I just got a response from them much faster than waiting for Customer Service to email me back:

"Break through the surface and breathe."
So, what in the fuck is Trent hiding in this video, and how do we find it?
The Idea of You is the standout track.
it smells like ARG
I love how heavy this sounds. The Idea of You is straight up metal. Burning bright is almost like stoner rock song. But yet it all feels very familiar. I'm not sure about some of the vocals, but fuck it. I got much more than expected
The Idea of You is my favorite track so far and one of my favorite NIN songs ever.
Subtle detail, but are there any other tags on the MP3 version other than the titles and artist name (and lyrics posted in this thread)? Just want to copy everything over to my converted WAV version. Thanks!
The Idea of You is my favorite so far but She's Gone Away is also very good. I'm very curious to hear it in vinyl.
OK 2nd listen through and I'm liking it a lot more. I wish Branches/Bones was on HM instead of Everything.
LOL @ The cover being still with the title changed. I see you, Trent.
who is the guest singer on 'dear world,'? saul?
Now this, THIS is what I've been waiting for! We're going out on a strong note after a shit year folks!
So with all the people who received just a picture without the music, has anyone made a bad "Not the Actual Album" joke yet? If not, I'm disappointed.
