Anything by Nick Drake, especially Pink Moon, although beautiful music by a legendary songwriter it makes me want to slit my wrists listening to it. Funeral music. he would kill himself not long after he made the album Pink Moon. Great songwriter just his music is ever so bleak.
    Anything by Elliot Smith
    Most of Cat Powers music.

Joy Division songs... I Remember Nothing, Candidate, Atmosphere, Decades, Atrocity Exhibition, again the lyrics are suicide notes.
Coil's made some amazing depressing music but their later music in particular is incredibly dark. tracks like ..Going Up, Stranded With Gifts, Unhappy Rabbits.

    Others
    The Verve..The Drugs Dont Work
    Syd Barrett...Golden Hair
    Cocteau Twins..Spangle Maker
The Smiths.. Suffer Little Children, Meat is Murder
    Portishead.. Roads
    Sugar.. The Slim
    Suede..The Wild Ones
Manic Street Preachers..She is Suffering or anything of The Holy Bible
    Spiritualized...Broken Heart
    Aphex Twin... Alberto Balslam
    Throbbing Gristle.. Hamburger Lady.
    Seefeel...Charlottes Mouth
    Octave One.. Blackwater
    Lush..Desire Lines
    My Bloody Valentine..No More Sorry
    Alice In Chains....Whale and Wasp

    I could go on

Yeah, AIC's Jar Of Flies can really, really destroy you at parts if you're in a bad way. Rotten Apple reaches into your chest and doesn't let go.

Some Radiohead songs sound extremely depressing to me for whatever reason. Yorke's voice can sound so defeated.

This one takes the cake for me(something about the contrast with the angelic harp), but "Climbing up the Walls" and "Exit Music for a Film" are right there too.

Almost anything playing on radio. It's depressing how bad things can get and to think someone really listens to that. ;-) (Idiocracy anyone?)

    APC's cover of Imagine.

Its amazing how much tone can affect ones impression of a song, because the Lennon version depressing it aint!

This song is quite beautiful, but at realization that the central figure is becoming more and more confused and delirious as he lay there dying is just incredibly sad and depressing....
