The deleted tweet was from Katy Tur, with reporting by Courtney Kube, a National Security reporter for NBC News. Kube generally has solid sourcing but I don't think the confidence level was / is high enough at the Pentagon. We'll probably know soon one way or another.
well, TMZ and Daily Mail are running with reports from China and Japanese media that say Kim Jong Un is either dead or not going to recover.
As of right now, since the dirt sheets of journalism are the only ones reporting this, I'd keep speculation minimal and out of the Dead Souls thread until there's more concrete information.
Last I heard South Korea is saying he is healthy. TMZ are known as being on the ball for news of people dying but this is far above their paygrade.
Can we PLEASE stop talking about rumors and speculation on North Korea in this thread? Every time I see a new post here I think "oh no, who died" and it's just more pointless chatter. Take it to random general headlines or something. Or the Korea thread, as @GulDukat pointed out. https://www.echoingthesound.org/comm...ighlight=korea

There is another thread for NK, so that one would probably be better to speculate.
Legendary Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen, 79.
Pretty gutted about this one, been getting into his stuff recently upon stumbling upon him with Damon Albarn's The Good, The Bad & The Queen, also his recent record with Jeff Mills 'Tomorrow Comes The Harvest' is incredible - so I've been working my way around his music from there. Only recently heard him on BBC6 chatting about his recently released album with Hugh Masekela so this was kinda unexpected.

Roy Horn (of duo Siegfried and Roy) dead at 75 due to COVID-19.
Schlechte woche für die Deutschen.
I highly doubt many younger people in Germany even know who he is at his point, but I pretty much grew up with these guys on TV, telling tales of that far away country called America. And of course these cool white tigers! I was a happy kid, whenevery they came on. Mach es gut, Roy!
Ah shit, what a coincidence... I was compiling a playlist earlier this week with some bangers from the 60/70s and had Little Richard featured a couple of times. Damn! Farewell!
In alot (but not all) of ways, it all started with him. Icon.

Is it just me, or are a LOT more famous people dying this year than normal?
Fuck I loved that guy - he was hilarious.
It is indeed seeming like a lot more famous people are dying - looks like we're in for 2016 Part 2.
That stinks :-(
Ugh awful news.
RIP Fred Willard
