My gf gifted me tickets to see Meshuggah next year, and Converge will be opening, so I'll get acquainted with Converge. With which album should I start?

If you want to be acquainted with their newer sound and how most of what they will play at your show will sound like, go with Axe or Behind. But like Space said, Jane Doe is their best work and they will play some of it too, especially this:

That is one hell of a lineup. Can’t believe there’s no date in MA.

Why the fuck does the Ohio date have to be in fucking Cinci?

Goddamn, at least the Meshuggah/Converge tour was coming to Cleveland.

I don't think that's right. Converge's post about it says "Note that the order in which the support bands will appear will change every night." I think Converge is headlining every night.

    Two Bloodmoon shows announced:

April 9 Boston, MA at Roadrunner
April 10 Brooklyn, NY at Brooklyn Steel

Caspian opening both shows. One band TBA for Boston, and Liturgy playing Brooklyn.

Gonna try to hit the Boston one.

Attended the Bloodmoon show in Brooklyn last Sunday. Missed Liturgy, which is great b/c they're terrible. Caspian was pretty cool for what I heard (3 songs). God a good reaction.

B/c it was a Sunday night, I guess Brooklyn Steel was a little ambitious. Place was maybe half to 2/3 full, which really surprised me. I figured this was going to sell out instantly, especially since I've seen Chelsea Wolfe headline this venue on her own. It had to be the Sunday night thing.

Show was EXCELLENT. Top notch musicians executing their moody, chaotic, experimental fusion of all their talents & other bands sounds perfectly. The live band was Converge, with Stephen Brodsky on second guitar, Chelsea Wolfe on vocals (although obviously Jake, and Nate & Stephen all sing at various times as well), and Ben Chisholm from CW on synths & keyboards. They played for 90 minutes. I hope they tour this thing around more if all their schedules can line up again in the future.

I'd consider going to that if I wasn't already taking time off from work for two shows the week before the MA date. Bummer.

Will be at the Hammerstein show. Converge back on instead of fucking In Flames makes this a bananas bill again.

Words cannot describe how excited I am for this. I already had a ticket for the Boston show, and those are literally the two openers I was hoping they'd announce.

That NJ show just ticked up a bit eh?

Saw Cave In last night with YOB. Cave In were alarmingly tight. Just an absolute machine. yet still were loose and having a ton of fun. Who knows what they'll play in November b/c they did a Codeine cover (the song "Cave In", fittingly), and a Fleetwood Mac cover. And everything else was from Heavy Pendulum. And that was opening for YOB!

My friend & I have tix for the Webster Hall show that we'll hold onto for now, but I am trying to work some magic for the Starland show. At that point we may sell the Webster tix unless a whopper of an opener gets added to that show too. Can't see the openers topping friggin Converge & Cave In though....especially since the Webster shows sold out instantly and the NJ show at least was dragging sales wise.
