Hey at least they are doing USA, i know you guys are tired of them but we could use some of the dates in Latin America, the two dates in 2014 weren't enough and Maynard needs to learn to insult fans in spanish, lol
Vete a la chingada!

Tool and Guns N Roses 2016.
As someone who has only seen them once, three and a half years ago, I am more than content with a 'rehashed' set list. Last time we didn't get Vicarious, Sober, or Prison Sex, so maybe we'll get those, and perhaps they'll stick with No Quarter and The Grudge because I'd love to see those two songs performed live. And I could die happy if they brought back Ticks and Leeches.
i'm just glad that i saw tool 4 times in the late 90s and early 2000's.
It was fucking amazing every single time. Seeing them with Osseus Labrynth doing their beautiful contortion thing on the ropes along with moving alex grey images changed my fucking life.
ANNNNNNNNd that was probably enuff tool for me
the setlist during the 'inside the outside' tour was good. i enjoyed the show i saw. that was enough for me, too.
I hate to admit that I never got to see them pre-10,000 Days. But I got to see the "mini tour" at the Fox Theater in Detroit and it was unbelievable. Seeing them in again in a large venue was awesome, too. The atmosphere during Wings for Marie was almost spine tingling.
Except for those fuckers who treated it like an intermission and left to get drinks.
i've seen Tool for every album tour plus their one off shows after 10k days. Besides 1 show that Maynard was visibly sick, all of them have been great.
do they seriously do intermissions? the only show i've been to where they pulled that was the magnetic fields and it irritated the shit outta me.
i remember my friends going to a show during the aenima tour at the idaho center amphitheatre (it was called the swiss village cheese factory amphitheatre or something back then) in 1997. i was so jealous. mainly because the melvins opened.
They did it for the early-2014 tour, I think it was 12 minutes or some shit. House lights went up and timer was on the screen.
Biggest buzzkill I witnessed at any arena show. If bands need a breather (that's what Adam had to say about it during a VIP Q&A) just play some recorded stuff and mess with lighting for 10 minutes instead of taking all the energy out of the audience.
ugh. house lights mid-show? and for a measley 12 minutes? shit.
and a timer on a screen ... wtf.
Yep. I literally said "What the fuck?" out loud when it happened. A few people in my section even left the show- they must not have seen the timer.
I was fucking around with youtube trying to show my wife what tool shows were like back in the day, and there are so few good flicks.
So here's what i got to thinking...you guys know what i would like out of tool? A live boxed set.
SURELY they've recorded at least SOME of these shows over the years.
I'm fairly certain they record every show. But regarding professional camera rigs, they've definitely recorded at least a few. I believe it may have been mentioned during the Q&A that they're going to wait until their record deal is over before stepping into the live Bluray game. As Maynard said, they've "made a career out of not giving away the whole farm."
Were there any fan projects that made semi-pro looking/sounding multicam DVDs?
I'm seriously wondering if this is part of the "curveball" or the "biggest project of my life" Justin mentioned. Some bands *cougheverclearcough* completely rerecorded their catalogue so they could sell them without a label interfering or benefiting. Autolux used to have two copies of their album for sale. One was owned by the label and the other was self-published.
Usually labels own the rights to the particular recordings but not the songs themselves so live recordings or re-recordings are fair game.
Someone on 4thEye just posted this link, rebroadcast of Halloween show. Wonder if it's just going to be the "art" they typically have on the side screens or if they have actual footage of the band members (well, Adam and Maynard anyways) standing still:
