ETS allows more swearing than some other forums I've been to but I have never felt that this website was misogynistic. It's a lot more respectful to women than most hard rock forums. Maybe it's because the average age is younger here. I think sexism tends to be more of a problem among middle-aged people born before 1970.

i think that's because when someone does/says something misogynistic, those of us who aren't dicks call them out on it (as we should). doesn't stop people from trying to be assholes, unfortunately.

I like to think at least a little bit of it is the fandom, NIN has always attracted the misfits and it's been a really inclusive community.

I hate cliquey forums. (Not this one.) When a forum becomes too centered on the same 2 or 3 people, I usually end up leaving it.

Where I live there's a murder trial going on. When the accused was being questioned in court, he said he did it because his wife wouldn't stop talking.

I'm not defending what he did, but I know a lot of people who never shut up. My ex-BF was like that. I could never get a word in edgewise. I didn't kill him though.
