New Alter Bridge, The Last Hero, smokes. I know that they are 3/4 of Creed, but they have proved themselves.

I always thought they were everything Crud wasn't supposed to be and thank goodness. Miles Kennedy isn't just a better vocalist than Scott Stapp but he just gives the band so much more to do musically where it's not so watered down or heavy-handed like Crud.

Mark Tremonti is a good guitarist and songwriter, glad he and his bandmates have life after Creed. And you're right, Myles is a better frontman that Stapp, who is a good singer, but ruins everything with that Jesus Christ pose. I also think Myles is much better in Alter Bridge than he was singing with Slash, which was never a good fit, imho.

Stapp is a third-rate Eddie Vedder who is so full of himself. I remember that Crud song "What If" where he sounded like Scott Weiland in a bad way. Myles just has range as a vocalist and doesn't try to do any stupid poses. He was OK with Slash but I agree, it didn't really fit.

Honestly, with Slash, he sounds good, but comes across as a hack, like a second-rate Axl, and witnout Axl's charisma and heart. Myles' overly earnest singing is better with the somber Alter Bridge.

New Temple of the Dog boxset is awesome. The demos are a amazing. Hearing them stripped-down makes me appreciate this band even more.

New Hendrix Live at the Filmore, 12/31/69, first Band of Gypsys show is great.

Her originals are also very good, but I'm really digging this cover.

Hated this song when I first heard it but it's probably the second or third best track on the album. Brendon Urie is surprisingly amazing.

I've seriously been wearing out "God Hates a Coward" the last 24 hours. The final verse is fucking wonderful. I don't think I listen to Mike Patton as often as I think I should.

I think their compilations are where to look......The Pink Opaque chronicles their earlier work between 1982-1985.
This period is my favourite era.

Or Lullabies to Violaine which came out in 2006...which was an expansive 3 disc set that had highlights from their entire career.

Ive never been able to pick my favourite Cocteau Twins album..so its hard..i like everything they ever did.
Each era and album has magnificent moments...

    sorry, shameless self-promotion!

new theater score for Sweet Analytics, an adaptation of Faust with a female protagonist that's all about gender politics. it's a really compelling work and i got to make a ton of sound for it. really proud of my efforts.
