Fuck this band with a bale of hay.
ETA Corey Taylor's spot was really good, but he needs to take off that fucking hat. Jesus H.

Hahahahahahaha I used to like them more than I'd care to admit. I loved Fashionably Late and Just Like You but Coming Home was hot garbage and going back to listen to the two aforementioned albums now has made me grimace at my own misguided taste. Ronnie is such a dickbag and that used to be endearing when the music was objectively decent, but now with their flaccid, pop bullshit...nah, son.
All that aside, "Guillotine IV (the Final Chapter)" is still a fucking great song, though.
it doesn’t always work though - Take Rita Ora for example, in the UK she was everywhere and is always turning up to things, awards shows, hosting talent shows etc but her last album didn’t make top ten and she certainly couldn’t fill an arena. She was definitely a chosen one
Reminds me of the "Blues Hammer" scene from Ghost World.
I heard about that FFDP cover yesterday, I’m not gonna listen to it.
One of the last thing this this planet needs, from a musical standpoint, is another fucking cover from this shitty band.
I'll give them credit for getting Brian May and Kenny Wayne Shepherd himself to play on this. I like the original a lot, but this just feels unnecessary. If it makes some coin for veterans' charities and such that's nice, though.
I want this t shirt but looks like it’s only in small and super large ...

And yes, I’m serious lol. It’s a good gag shirt to just wear around the house or going out to nowhere special.
Every time i hear about Winger i remember that dorky kid from Beavis and Butthead with the Winger shirt.
To the best of my knowledge, I've never really given Fear Factory a chance but an article I saw about a greatest hits release prompted me to check them out. They're fucking awful.
Back in 1995 they were good, especially after the Mortal Kombat movie with the one scene.
Fear Factory is hit or miss. Demanufacture is a killer record.
That kick drum sounds like someone tapping on a loose stack of paper.
"Demanufacture" is a great album, i also like many songs from "Obsolete" and "Digimortal"
also:
I engineered a tech demo w/ the guitarist from Fear Factory once for a presentation, and he's a super nice guy, and talented af... so there's my two cents.
Eh.
On the flip side, the song is one of those that first introduced me to the loudness war, though I didn't know it at the time. The song starts and sounds wide open but as soon as the boom hits everything starts to sound cramped, like there's too much information trying to compete for the volume.
Demanufacture, Obsolete, and Archetype are all such great albums, that they kind of make up for how fucking awful every other release from them is, in my opinion. Obsolete is actually one of my favorite albums of all time.
In other news, the hype on this new double Vampire Weekend album can fuck riiiiiiiiiight the fuck off. Fuckin' rich single white boy yacht music. Shit is absolute trash.
It's time for another round of How Far Can You Make It Through This Video?
God damn.
thank god they filmed this at that accelerated frame rate. Really enhances what a great video it is. I like when true talents like this just make their art and dont care what people think. A true pioneer.
Demanufacture and Obsolete were right up there, some of the quintessential albums of my adolescence, thank you MK soundtrack. Nowadays they're generally in the same boat as KMFDM to me - I'll give new releases a cursory listen or two and I'll usually find nothing of note, though it's never bad, just...music I'm not so much into these days. They do what they do and I've largely moved on. I think there was maybe one track off The Machinist that really clicked with me....last thing I remember really being noteworthy at all to me was some stuff off Transgression, though I know a lot of people hate that one.
