Very much agreed with both of those. PF's Sanctified is so much more dynamic and interesting, I don't know what the hell John Fryer was thinking. It makes me wonder how an earlier Something I Can Never Have could have been, as that's another John Fryer co-production, and in my opinion resulted in a flat-out boring track.
I love Maybe Just Once, and I think it could have been a big hit in the '80s. May be a good thing that it didn't, though, as it could have resulted in a very different direction for NIN. If nothing else, the studio might have been even more controlling.
