alright fellow NIN junkies. dont really feel like sifting through 108 pages, so.....i need a record player. before i had to sell all my vinyls for monetary reasons, i had a Crosley player (which i've heard that they are total crap), i only bought one cause it looked cool and was $79 at Target 8 years ago. Anyways, i just ordered ALL the vinyls on the NIN website, plus i have a lot of other ones. Just looking for a good record player that wont eat up my records. and i was wanting to get a good set of Headphones so i could rock out like Trent used to do....and just to rock out. so any advice/pointing in the right direction? thanks for help. Beside You In Time!!!!!!

180g vinyl, red print on blue sleeve variation

    nine inch nails - broken
    180g vinyl, hand-etched side B, & 7" 45

these both sounded SO GOOD. i can't wait to listen to TDS and the fragile later today.

Vinyl question: In the case of companies like Mondo and Waxwork...how do these guys go about releasing soundtracks that are released under MUCH larger labels while ALSO changing all of the artwork? Do they purchase the actual masters from them or are they purchasing publishing rights?

    Asking for a friend...

ha i see what you did there

mondo & waxwork both seem to be pretty cool on social media, so i'd say just ask them directly (and let them know what you're doing).

    Ha. (hiding behind curtain).

Yeah tried that with WW but got a very polite "we just don't have time to properly respond" email. Haha. Assuming as it "could" be seen as competition but fortunately it isn't. haha

"Broken" DE - I'd say, on the whole it sounds about the same as the original. A bit more balanced in terms of volume and the background effects seems a bit richer...
    "The Downward Spiral" DE
    "The Fragile" DE
    "Not The Actual Events"

    all arrived happily today.

I'm a fan of the Audio-Technica stuff at the 200$+ but I'd trust the lower $ too. Not sure there's anything with a headphone jack for listening, but if you wanted to emulate TR, you might just want to get an turntable and separate amplifier that has a headphone jack instead.

nine inch nails - the downward spiral, definitive edition
    2xLP on 180g black vinyl
i posted about this in the appropriate thread in the NIN section of the board, but i can't begin to describe how happy i am at the way they handled splitting up the sides & segues (which were never done properly on any previous pressing of this album). couple that with how good it sounded and it really is the definitive edition. so thrilled with this.

You should check Amazon too before you order, they may have it for a little cheaper.

(that is in portrait mode )

i've never really understood the idea of an unboxing video. i know people are into them, but they just do nothing for me (nothing wrong with yours or people enjoying them, though!)

i was pissed off yesterday because i found out Dais records is putting out a new pressing of Time Machines by COIL...after i finally got an original pressing in may (for $120; new pressing is $33 with shipping). however, i put the original up on discogs for exactly what i paid, and it sold in less than 12 hours to someone who is REALLY excited about it. so i made up my loss and i'm happy! especially since the other cheapest copy on discogs is currently going for $750, which is NUTS.

The /other/ portrait... (I need sleep)
Some unboxing videos I like, most I don't. In more general terms, I think people like them because they like to see/hear others be excited (or disappointed). Kinda like porn...

Most of their catalog is on awesome pressing colors. I love it.

Recent additions, I'm only waiting on one more record from my small purchase hiatus.

All of these are basic black presses. The colored ones are OOP and highly valuable.

    radiohead - oknotok box set
3xLP + cassette + notebook + sketchbook, all housed in gorgeous packaging
i've had this for a couple months and finally broke it out today (my wife does not like radiohead or thom yorke so i generally avoid listening to them in her presence so as not to bother her).
the remaster on this sounds phenomenal. i didn't have a chance to listen to the third record, yet, so i'm looking forward to that and the cassette.

    Side bar, sorry y'all:

Unboxing videos are great for A/V equipment, things like headphones, DACs, etc. I first discovered them years ago, when it seemed to be something fringe and primarily for A/V equipment and Japanese collectibles (scale models, etc.).

    Keep posting sexy pictures.

I wasn't hunting these originally, but saw a chance to snag them at well below usual asking prices, so couldn't turn down snagging these!

ACSS is the Simply Vinyl pressing from 98, not original pressing, it I'll take it! Mechanical Animals is the Blue/White vinyl release.

Also, entered a raffle to take my pick of 5 vinyls out of 20. I won! And this is what I took home!
