Was thinking I'd never get my hands on this one.
Was thinking I'd never get my hands on this one.
Just purchased Poison the Well's "Versions" on coke bottle blue with white mixture.
did they do a new pressing or is it an original? i ask because i have an original and it's the same color. also my favorite album by them <3
have i told you i have one of the test pressings of the tropic rot? no artwork, no labels. one of my prized possessions. if you ever die, i promise it's yours.
Oh, you've told me.
I'm not sure if it's a repress or not, but it's this one. Also my favorite despite the fact I don't think it's their best.
^Gorgeous!
I want that (TDTWWA) just for the cover artwork (though I'm not sure I can justify the purchase since there's only 3 tracks). I always loved that image and the way the logo and title are incorporated. It was also the first release that I eagerly anticipated after becoming a fan and buying up the rest of the catalog.
Waiting for the uturn orbit custom I've ordered weeks ago is one of the hardest waits I've ever had. At least I've had time to prepare things, like get an audio rack. Can anyone recommend an antistatic carbon brush?
I'm not a fan of carbon brushes; I've tried a few, but shelved them all pretty quickly - they shed, or (worse) mark the vinyl. For removing dust and other debris before playing I use the velvet pad from this kit (dry, mind, I don't use the solution):

Tonar also have a similar velvet pad:

I let the record spin a couple of times while lightly pressing the pad to the surface, then stop the platter and remove the pad. This then leaves a line of dust and debris which I sweep off with one of these:

I've used this one on every single record I've played since 2018 and never had any issues.

Woh! That looks in great shape - I think the few copies I've seen have all had stickers that went a bit yellow and translucent from the glue. Was it from Discogs?
Finally got my copy of Babalon by Andrew W.K. It's pretty cool. Autographed on the sleeve and on the 3-D glasses, #105 of 393. The labels are misprinted saying that playing speed is 33RPM but it's a traditional 45. The b-side is pretty nice.
That warm, fuzzy feeling you get when all the records you've been waiting on from days to months arrive the same day.
Scored a couple gems today at the local shop!
PJ Harvey - Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea
Siouxsie & the Banshees - Tinderbox
Other additions since the beginning of the year:
Varsovia - Recursos Inhumanos
Prince - Piano & A Microphone
Chromatics - Cherry
ABBA - Gold
Alcest - Les Voyages de l’ame
Citizen - Youth
David Bowie - Mother / Trying to Get to Heaven 7”
Mogwai - As The Love Continues
